30_ Bumping into a street corner
Having a headache from the far greater shock that my father’s most surprising revelation gave, I decided to go to bed instead.
Haaah, damn you, Dad. What was the need to tell us that information in the first place?
It would have only made us feel weird about them unnecessarily.
Was there an agenda in his mind?
However, even he did, I wish he never tell us about it please.
I feel like, that from now on, I might look at my father and mother with strange gaze now on.
Because of that shock, I almost forgot for a moment that Akane was my step-sister.
The fact that Akane and I are also step-siblings …kind of strange, isn’t it?
Since my father told me that he got married when I was one year old and Akane was zero years old, so it was only natural that we had no memory or recollection of it.
Right, ever since I can remember, we have been together with each other, growing up side by side.
That’s why, even after I found out that Akane was actually my step-sister now, nothing will changed.
[TL: sound me impressed dude.]
I’m sure even Akane feels the same way, so there’s no need to worry about it at all.
But still, didn’t Akane feel weird and uncomfortable when she heard that last revelation?
Somehow, the moment Dad uttered those words, Akane instead bent forward with her eyes glittering in sparkles.
Could it be, that is rather the gesture of showing an interest to it?
[TL notes: changed a bit than original.]
Hmmm, well, that’s okay either way.
Well, I won’t change from now on as well, so even if Akane tries to do something strange and weird, I, as her Onii-chan will just instruct and scold her like any good Onii-chan would do.
The flow of words where I and Akane get married to each other, I will definitely avoid getting into that kind of situation howsoever.
Ah, my headache is getting worse. Let’s go to bed already.
*JIRIJIRIRJIRIJIRI
AHHH, THIS ALARM IS JUST SO LOUD AS EVER
Is it trying to destroy my brain?
But since I got to sleep early last night, right now my headache also felt better.
Now that my mind has also somewhat reset, let’s have the breakfast, which my mother has probably made for us already.
I walked slowly to the first floor.
And when I reached, there I found a letter on the desk, which seemed to be from my father.
Is it addressed to me? Or is it for Akane? Or perhaps Mom?
There was no addressee written on the letter. Dad, as usual you’re as sloppy as usual.
Anyway, I don’t want to be the one to touch that.
I’ll feel bad if it’s an important one addressed to Mom.
More importantly, isn’t Akane around?
Today is school day, doesn’t she know?
I automatically looked towards the clock which should be usually hanging on the wall.
!?
“Eh, is it really this late right now?!”
The hands on the clock were pointing to two minutes past the time I usually leave the house for school.
Since I had adjusted my schedule to that of arriving just in time to avoid being late, so, the moment I would be slightly off schedule, that would mark a definite scenario where I would be late.
That’s definitely a no-no. Being late would make me stand out all the more
I have to go to the staff room as well today …RATHER THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT THAT.
I must hurry up and get ready asap.
As I hurriedly finished my preparations, about three more minutes had passed by.
I have to shorten my route time by 5 minutes somehow. Are there no buses or trains running nearby.
Do I got no other choice than to run and reach the destination.
Can I even cut my route time down by five minutes?
The only way is to keep running throughout.
Taking a piece of bread from the kitchen cabinet, putting it in my mouth, I hurried out of the house.
“Haaa, haaaa, I can see the school in front of me now.”
This means I no longer have to run anymore perhaps.
Incidentally, right now the path I’m on is a pretty narrow one. Yes, an alley that is a short cut to a school that I would normally not go through.
Once I turn from this corner, all I have to do is go straight.
*Don
“Kyaa!” “Uwaa.”
Just as I was about to turn, someone came out of the opposite alley and bumped right straight into me.
“Oh, excuse me.
“Ah, I’m really sorry.”
*Fidget, Fidget, Fidget, Fidget, Fidget, Fidget, …
Oh God, the characteristic shyness of a fellow introvert.
I reached out my hand in help while avoiding to look at the other person’s face in front of me.
“I — I’m really sorry, I wasn’t quite looking at what was in front of me.”
a —-A GIRL?!
“Nope, even I wasn’t looking.”
Then, out of complete courtesy, with determination, I looked at the person I had bumped into.
“I’m really so sorry!”
With that the girl in front of me bowed her head deeply towards me.
Looking at her carefully, she was wearing the same school uniform as me, so I guess she was a student of the same high school as me.
“Please stop that. To bow your head (that deeply) at me. It was also because of my carelessness. I’m also really sorry from my end as well.”
[TL notes: added words from my end in (); will be doing so from now on as well; do tell if it is not needed.]
