We are pretending....right? - Chapter 24- Date~2!
“You don’t have to actually write it down, Sumire-san. ”
“No can do, Sou-kun. I will be meeting your father real soon and for that, I need to be fully prepared.”
I rebuked back since Sou-kun was taking this too lightly. We have known each other for two weeks now yet I know nothing about Sou-kun other than the fact that he lives in a luxurious apartment and is a good chef.
And also that when he leans on the door frame while smiling, he looks incredibly charming. Not like this would help me with the meeting with Sou-kun’s father.
“This is not a marriage meeting so you don’t have to be aware of everything related to me, in the first place. Just be casual and my father would trust our relationship.”
“Is that so? Well, what’s your favorite color for starters?” It wasn’t like I didn’t hear Sou-kun words and how he was trying to avoid this getting-to-know-each-other session, but I simply cannot leave things like this.
From the looks of it, Sou-kun’s father seems to be a rich businessman and I have read in novels and seen in dramas how the father of a young master always tries to boycott a mediocre girl like me. Sou-kun has been playing the role of a fake boyfriend perfectly and has created a gap between me and Kabura. Now it’s time for me to serve my role as his girlfriend.
‘Yep…need to know Sou-kun, ASAP!’
Sou-kun still seemed reluctant to do this talk but under my unwavering gaze, which must have seemed intimidating slightly, he conceded.
“Alright, it’s black.”
“Good. Now how about your favorite food?”
“White sauce pasta.”
I raised my brows at that, nevertheless noted and proceeded.
“How about the hobby? Or what do you like to experience the most?”
“Hmm…being alone in a dimly lighted room, reading a book with the sound of rain in the background.”
That was….unexpected. Well, not entirely since how Sou-kun generally seems all mysterious and limited to himself, I should have guessed something like this.
As I continued asking him questions, I realized that almost no choices of ours match.
He likes bitter black coffee, and I like sour-sweet fruit juice. He likes to wear plain and simple clothes and I do not have a single kind of clothing which has repeated designs in my wardrobe. He likes to generally stay alone, all by himself whereas I like to hang out with friends and like to meet my relatives.
Somehow, I was feeling a little..no, a lot sad seeing how many dissimilarities were there between us.
“See, I told you to not talk about my likings.” Maybe it was because Sou-kun saw my troubled expression that why he said such.
“No wait…there must be something similar between us…”
With the rear end of the pencil held in between my teeth, I was going through Sou-kun’s profile while thinking of any other questions he may answer in alignment with my liking as well.
‘There must be… ‘
“Can’t find?”
“Ah…” Startled, I directed my gaze toward the source of the voice only to find Sou-kun kneeling near the bed. I didn’t even see him approaching.
Sou-kun took the notebook from my hand before he directed his caramel shade eyes at me, enticing me to keep staring at him but fortunately, his voice broke my daze.
“If you are really hell-bent to find something similar between us, then tell me Sumire-san, do you like yourself?”
I absentmindedly nodded even though sometimes I really hate myself for doing and saying some of the things.
However, what Sou-kun followed with his response was something I could have never prepared myself for.
“Then it’s the same for me.”
With a smile curling his lips slightly he said something which made the pencil from my lips fall on the bed.
…
…
…….what?
‘W-What is Sou-kun….h-he likes m-me?’
I was inwardly stuttering out those words continuously since what Sou-kun indirectly told me was anything but believable to hear in this scenario.
And knowing Sou-kun he shouldn’t be joking about it since if he really was then he must have laughed it off upon seeing my embarrassingly flushed face.
‘Does i-it means…S-Sou-kun… ‘
I was never able to say anything further since soon Mom entered the room and Sou-kun stood up to take the tray of juice and snacks from her.
I wasn’t able to listen to whatever they were chatting about but it seemed my mom likes Sou-kun to have a comfortable conversation. The reason I was unable to hear them stems from the fact that my mind was still occupied by the thoughts of what Sou-kun said earlier.
‘Then it’s the same for me.’ Did he really mean what he just say or was he playing around?
Others might have taken this as casual flirting but not me. If Sou-kun have any feelings toward me then I have to confirm them.
…even though I myself do not know what I would do if Sou-kun really admits that he likes me.
