Naoya’s workplace is located in a corner of a shopping district.

It’s a house sandwiched between a convenience store and a small apartment building, with a sign reading “Akaneya Second Hand Books” hanging in front. As the name suggests, it’s a bookstore meant for selling second hand books.

The store opens at 10am and closes at 5pm on weekdays, and it remains closed on weekends and holidays.

The interior of the bookstore is small, with shelves lining the walls packed full of books. In the back is a counter for the clerk, and beyond that is the owner’s living space.

“Oh my, what a cute customer! Nice to meet you!”

“H-hello?”

In front of the counter, Koyuki bowed her head hesitantly.

Naoya gave a slight nod as well.

“I brought her here, but is it okay?”

“Of course it is. We always welcome customers like you!”

Behind the counter, the store manager smiles softly, placing her hand on her cheek.

She was wearing a thin cardigan and skinny pants, with well-defined features and slightly drooping eyes. Her hair was tied into a single ponytail and was dyed in dark blue color that fell in front of her chest. She is 23 years old.

As Naoya had told her, she is the perfect embodiment of the phrase “An adult woman”.

The store manager extended her right hand and introduced herself with a smile.

“My name is Kirihiko Akane! Nice to meet you, Koyuki-chan~♡”

“H-huh…”

Koyuki took her hand timidly. It seems like this is her first time meeting someone who acts like this.

After formal greetings, the two of us were then led to a four and a half tatami mat room at the back of the store.

At the table where we were sitting, Kirihiko-san skillfully brewed tea. Although it’s a Japanese-style room, she was making tea using her own preference and decided that black tea should fit in perfectly.

She even served us cookies, which was quite a treat.

“Is it really okay to have customers over while the store is open?”

“Don’t worry about it. We hardly ever get any customers anyway.”

Kirihiko-san winked at the bewildered Koyuki.

Next to her, Naoya was munching on cookies one after another.

“See, I told you. There’s no way anything would happen between me and Kirihiko-san.”

“Well, even though I may look like this, I’m only interested in girls.”

Kirihiko-san laughed cheerfully.

As we can see Kirihiko-san is a decent person by nature. But her liking for girls is a little strange. She has been this character since the first time Naoya met her, and Naoya knows only that she is a good person, so there is no problem.

Kirihiko-san narrowed her eyes as she watched Naoya munching on cookies.

“But Sasahara-kun, how did you meet such a cute girl?”

“Didn’t I tell you earlier? I helped her when she was being picked up in front of this shop the other day.”

“Oh, when did that happen? Well, that’s a classic plotline for a school romantic comedy.”

Kirihiko-san then leaned her face towards Koyuki.

“So, how many days have you been dating for? About a month?”

“W-well, no. He and I are not… that kind of couple yet.”

“Oh, ‘yet’… It feels like the epitome of youth!”

Kirihiko-san sipped on the teacup with a satisfied expression.

It seems that she has taken a liking to Koyuki in earnest. Seeing the interaction between them Naoya became a little uneasy and looked at her intently.

“Just to be clear, she is mine, okay?”

“What…!?”

“I know that, of course.”

Watching Koyuki turn bright red due to embarrassment, Kirihiko-san waved her hand with a smile.
