Kaito-kun, I love you

“It’s a lie, a lie, a lie!?”

When Alan realized he had stabbed Kaito, not me, he cried out in a half-crazed frenzy. He seemed to have finally begun to realize the gravity of what he had done.

And as expected, Alan ran away. But I ignored him and called an ambulance. Kaito was bleeding quite a lot, and he was already unconscious, so the situation was urgent.

“Kaito-kun, hang in there. You can’t die here.”

Since I had no expertise, all I could do was hold Kaito-kun’s hand until the ambulance arrived. Every second felt a thousand times longer, and I really didn’t feel alive until the ambulance arrived.

After a short while, the ambulance finally arrived and we boarded it, and started heading to the hospital.

The paramedics asked me about the situation in the ambulance, so I told them everything as I was distraught. After that, we arrived at the hospital and Kaito-kun was taken straight to the operating room.

Kaito-kun was in critical condition after all, and it seemed that emergency surgery was about to take place.

As I prayed in front of the operating room, Kaito-kun’s parents appeared with pale expressions. Then, when they realized I was there, Kaito-kun’s mother closed in on me.

“Ellen-chan, what in the world happened to Kaito?!”

“…Kaito-kun was stabbed with a knife by Alan to protect me.”

I told them exactly what had happened to Kaito-kun. I was prepared to be harshly scolded by them because the culprit who stabbed Kaito-kun is my brother, Alan. 

But his parents didn’t blame me at all.

“I see, so Kaito’s a hero who protected Ellen-chan. He’s really amazing.”

“If it were me, I’d never be able to act like him. I’m sure he’ll be fine, so let’s wait and believe in him.”

On the other hand, Kaito-kun’s parents encouraged me to do so. 

After that, the three of us begin to wait for Kaito-kun’s surgery to end successfully.

The time felt much longer than when I was waiting for the ambulance earlier, and a minute felt like an hour. It felt like an eternity of waiting for the surgery, but the end was finally upon us.

“The surgery ended as planned. It was quite dangerous, but he managed to survive.”

The emergency room’s light turned off, and the surgeon stepped out from inside. Hearing those words, we all looked relieved. It seemed the surgery had succeeded without incident. In other words, Kaito’s life was saved.

I was stabbed in the back with a knife while protecting Ellen, but by the time I woke up, everything was over. 

That’s why I didn’t know anything about the critical condition emergency surgery or that Alan was arrested for attempted murder until she told me.

I was finally discharged from the hospital and started going to school again, but a new problem arose.

“Because I had to be hospitalized again for such a long time, now I have to submit a hefty amount of assignments and also attend supplementary classes during spring break, it has really become such a huge pain.”

“You don’t have a choice. If you don’t, you won’t be able to graduate in three years.”

Right, the new problem is the number of days of attendance. I had been absent for a long time due to schizophrenia, and now hospitalized after being stabbed with a knife, which made it even more difficult to attend the classes.

I am walking home, Ellen listening to me complaining about such things.

“….um, Kaito-kun. Do you remember that promise we made the other day about today?”

“There’s no way I could forget about today. That’s why I chose today when Mom isn’t home, and I have made preparations for it.”

Later today, I have an important promised date with Ellen.

We went up to my room and took our time taking off everything we were wearing.

When I told Ellen about this, she laughed out loud. After all, Ellen’s smiling face is better than her sad one.

After that, we took off everything down to our underwear, and we were both just as we were born. This is the first time I’ve seen Ellen naked, and she’s really beautiful. As I thought of that, Ellen’s face turns red and she opens her mouth to speak.

“It’s embarrassing so don’t stare at me too much.”

“…I’m sorry, you’re so beautiful that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her.”

Ellen blushed even more as he apologized. We were silent for a while, but she broke the silence.

“Then it’s about time.”

“Ah, that’s right.”

I took out the box of contraceptives I had hidden under the bed. I suppressed my embarrassment and bought it from the drugstore for today.

“Kaito-kun, I love you.”

“Ah, I love Ellen too.”

Just like that, Ellen and I became one on the bed and dedicated our first time to each other.
