The Reincarnated Minister's Second Daughter Wants To Live A Happy Life - Chapter 8
Chapter 8
As the class ended, it was finally lunch. Daisy heard her stomach growling, so she quickly put her things inside her bag and cleaned her books. In the process, she accidentally bumped her arm into her seatmate’s desk. Daisy was startled and hurriedly apologized to Judy.
Just waved her hand and helped pick up the things that had fallen on the floor.
“I’m sorry. I was in a hurry because I was feeling hungry.”
“No, you don’t need to worry. My things are in the way.”
Daisy put the things back on Judy’s desk and smiled awkwardly.
“How about this? Do you want to come to have lunch with me? I will be going to the cafeteria with a friend too.”
“Will that be alright?”
“She won’t mind.”
“Thank you.”
Daisy smiled at Judy and picked up her bag. Before walking towards the door, she helped Judy put her things inside her bag.
Near the door, Caspian was also putting his books inside his bag. A classmate tapped his shoulder, and he turned his head towards her. It was the classmate who answered earlier that he must have experienced a one-sided love.
Caspian looked at her with his usual blank expression. The girl classmate didn’t seem to mind it and smiled at him brightly.
The girl classmate praised him for his soulful poem earlier during their class. Caspian said nothing and faintly smiled at her. Seeing that he didn’t want to talk, the girl classmate waved at him and said goodbye. She then walked out the door.
After her, Caspian saw that Daisy was also walking out the door with another classmate.
‘Was it Judy?’
A few days ago, that classmate was his seatmate. Since there was no fixed seating arrangement in college, he sat with different classmates every time.
Caspian unconsciously picked up his pace and hurriedly walked toward the door. Now, he was behind Daisy and Judy.
“What do you want to eat at the cafeteria?”
“They offer the same every day. I will have my usual.”
They were talking about food as they walked.
Right outside the door, Camille was standing there, waiting for Daisy. She was with some of her classmates, who happened to be Caspian’s roommates, Marco and Nathan. They were happily chatting with each other.
When she saw Daisy walking out of the room, Camille rushed to her and wrapped her hands around her arms. She was just like a little child clinging to her mother.
Daisy smiled awkwardly when she saw Camille’s classmates looking at the two of them with surprised eyes. She looked at Camille, who was still clinging to her.
These days, Camille was so busy she barely had time to have lunch with Daisy, even though it was only the first week of the school year. Daisy was also busy, but Camille was busier. Although they were roommates, Camille always went back exhausted and sleepy.
‘Is that because she wasn’t used to doing hard work alone?’
They barely had similar subjects this semester, and she couldn’t help Camille with her assignments, so she felt sorry for her. Back in high school, Camille had her help. But now that they are in college, Daisy can’t help her much.
Since they chose different majors, their schedules were naturally different. Their time in classes constantly clashed against each other. That is why in the past few days, Daisy ate alone. Only today, Camille had time, and Daisy also had time to spare.
“Camille, your classmates are looking.”
Daisy quietly whispered into Camille’s ears.
Camille looked at the classmates she was with and smiled at Daisy.
“I forgot to introduce you to them. This is Nathan and Marco. Guys, this is my best friend, Daisy.”
The two guys alternately said hello to her, and she returned their greetings. She also introduced Judy, who was standing beside her.
“This is Judy, my classmate.”
Just then, Camille pointed behind her and asked Daisy.
“Eh, Daisy? Who is behind you?”
“Huh?”
When Daisy turned her head, she was surprised to see Caspian standing there. She didn’t realize that they were blocking the door, so he was left there, waiting for them to finish talking to each other.
‘But there was another door on the back of the room.’
The room had two doors. One which the professors used to enter, and the other on the back of the room. So why is Caspian standing here?
Daisy immediately dragged Camille and Judy to the side to let Caspian walk out. Caspian smiled at her and casually walked outside the door.
“Caspian! We’re on our way to eat lunch. Let’s eat together.”
“You don’t have any schedule after this, right?”
Caspian shook his head and turned his body again. Nathan and Marco waved at Camille before following behind Caspian, saying they would go to the cafeteria first, and she could follow with her friends.
When Camille finally saw the person standing behind Daisy, she gasped as she covered her mouth. She then turned to Daisy, who was staring at Caspian’s back.
“Isn’t that… Caspian?”
“Hmm, he is.”
“Wow! I never imagined I would be studying at the same college institute as my idol!”
Daisy frowned her brows when she saw how Camille’s eyes instantly turned into fangirling after she realized it was Caspian. Judy, standing beside her, was amazed at how Camille changed her expression in less than one second.
Camille lightly hit Daisy’s shoulder, saying she didn’t tell her Caspian was studying here. Daisy didn’t say anything as she didn’t know that Camille liked Caspian. If she knew, she would have said about it on the very first day of school.
After another round of nagging Daisy, Camille hurriedly dragged her and Judy to the cafeteria. When they arrived there, Caspian’s group was already ordering their food.
Camille briskly walked to them while dragging the two unwilling people behind her. The other students in the cafeteria were also looking in their direction, to which Daisy bowed her head and apologized for Camille’s ‘liveliness’.
Camille stood in line right behind them. Camille urged Daisy and Judy to quickly get their order as they finished ordering. Daisy just shook her head, thinking this should be alright between classmates. Eating together would not be a big thing enough to warrant too much attention.
After they finished ordering, Camille again dragged them towards Caspian’s table. She sat in front of the three guys, happily talking to each other.
Daisy smiled at them and excused herself, wanting to go to another table. She was embarrassed by Camille.
“Where are you going?”
Camille grabbed her arms. She then turned her head and looked at Caspian.
“Classmate, can we sit with you during lunch?”
Caspian didn’t say anything and nodded his head. At that, Camille smiled and ushered Judy and Daisy to sit down. Daisy was left with no choice but to sit down. Unexpectedly, she was sitting across from Caspian, staring at her. Daisy averted her gaze and put down the tray of her food.
As they sat down, Camille started talking endlessly, livening up the atmosphere at the table. Judy and Daisy stayed silent while Caspian was wordlessly eating his food.
While they were in the middle of eating, Camille suddenly turned to Caspian.
“Eh, classmate, you graduated from Small Town High School, right? Daisy and I also graduated there. What a surprise to see you here studying.”
“Yes.”
“I really idolized you for your talent. Not only were you intelligent, sporty, and received many awards, but you were also handsome!”
“Thank you.”
“I am only stating the facts!”
Camille giggled.
When Daisy saw that, she was convinced that her friend liked Caspian. Like what she said on their graduation day, who would not want a handsome guy like him. But his friends were also comparable to him.
Camille told them a little about Nathan and Marco when they were walking earlier. They were Caspian’s roommates. It would be a lie to say that they are not good-looking, but they pale compared to Caspian.
Although Caspian is good-looking, he doesn’t stand out from the crowd. He likes to be humble and won’t accept compliments about his looks. He would rather have people criticize his work rather than compliment his looks.
Caspian smiled at Camille, then looked at Daisy. His eyes looked at her as if he wanted to say something but couldn’t. Daisy was perplexed to see that kind of look in his eyes. She wondered if she had done something wrong or if he was just thinking if she was the same as her best friend.
It had only been a week since they became classmates, but Caspian always looked at Daisy as if he wanted to say something. Now that Daisy had seen it again, she badly wanted to ask him what it was. But before she could open her mouth, Camille spoke first.
“Our professor told us to capture something that intrigues us. Daisy, can I bother you later to take me to the park?”
“Later? But I have a class at two.”
The two guys with Camille raised their hands eagerly and asked her if she would like them to come with her. Camille looked at Daisy as if she was asking for permission. Daisy glanced at the two guys, scrutinizing them.
As she was doing that, Caspian’s low voice rang in front of her.
“They are not bad people. They probably know the place better.”
“Oh.”
Daisy felt bad for unconsciously staring at them for more than five seconds. She smiled at Camille and nodded her head.
‘It wouldn’t be bad for Camille to make more friends.’
Even though they were guys, with Camille’s temperament, they won’t be able to do something terrible to her. Camille smiled broadly and gave a thumbs up to Daisy.
“You’re the best!”
Daisy knew Camille also wanted to play. She was overprotective because Camille had no parents to care for her.
Daisy glanced at Caspian and silently thanked him. Caspian nodded his head.
