The Reincarnated Minister's Second Daughter Wants To Live A Happy Life - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
“Do you want to eat together later?”
“Huh…?”
Caspian, staring back at Daisy, suddenly asked her a question. Daisy was silent for a moment before she opened her mouth.
“Okay.”
“Alright.”
Caspian went back to his seat and started to clean his things.
On the other side, Daisy was still staring at the empty air. It was because it still felt like Caspian’s smile lingered in the air. She only returned to her senses when Judy waved her hands in front of her face.
Daisy was startled and looked at Judy, who was looking at her as if asking if she was okay.
“Oh, I’m alright.”
“You were staring in the air for quite some time.”
Judy inched her face closer and whispered to her.
“Your Caspian is already waiting for you at the door, hehe~.”
“M-my Caspian? Wh-what do you mean ‘my’?”
“Ey, you don’t need to hide it. We are classmates, and I completely understand it.”
“Uh…?”
“Go now; he’s waiting.”
Judy smiled at her as if she was teasing her.
Daisy hurriedly packed her things inside her bag and sprinted to the door. It was as if she was in a competition against Usain Bolt.
Caspian was leaning on the wall outside the door while talking to the two guys, Nathan and Marco. And, of course, they were with Camille.
As soon as Camille saw Daisy, she ran to her and immediately gave her a tight hug. Because Daisy just ran at an unimaginable speed, she was still panting and couldn’t breathe when Camille hugged her.
“I… I can’t breathe….”
“Oh, sorry. Why are you out of breath?”
“I was in a hurry….”
Daisy turned her head to Caspian, and Camille followed her line of sight. When Camille saw that her best friend was looking at Caspian, she let out an excited squeal.
‘Is my friend finally falling in love? This is so exciting!’
She was more excited about her best friend’s blooming in love than her passing her major.
Camille quickly dragged Daisy and urged the boys to go to the cafeteria since they were all going to the same place.
It was lunch, and the cafeteria was full of people as always. They went to order food and found a table consequently. They sat down with their food trays.
When good-looking people sit together, they inadvertently catch people’s attention. Whether it is because of their stunning looks or just curious about what other people are looking at. Either way, a group of good-looking people is eye candy.
As usual, Daisy and Caspian were sitting opposite each other. Nathan and Marco are sitting beside Caspian and Camille beside Daisy. The air seems to be livelier now, unlike the first time they ate together. Maybe it was because it was the first time, but something was definitely different this time.
Whether it was Caspian’s smile earlier or the fact that they unknowingly drew the things they remember of each other – it was definitely as sweet as sugar.
“Caspian, you seem to be in a good mood today. What is it?”
“Nothing.”
“Ey, your eyes are smiling, so why do you say it’s nothing.”
“It’s really nothing.”
Caspian raised his head to look at Daisy after answering Nathan. His face was somehow annoyed, but his eyes were actually smiling.
There was something called ‘joy’ inside his heart. He had never felt this way before. Was it because Daisy is the same Zhou MeiHua of that past? Because she remembered how the sword bestowed to me by the Emperor looked like? Was it because she liked ‘Li BaoHe’? Or was it because she was simply Daisy Annesley?
Even with these confusing questions, Caspian couldn’t help but tug the corners of his lips into a smile.
“Oh? You’re smiling again!”
“Wow! Did the sun rise from the west today? Caspian is actually smiling when he never did that to us!”
“Unfair, isn’t it?”
Nathan and Marco grumbled as if they were five-year-old children with their lollipops stolen. Still, Caspian didn’t pay them attention and continued staring at Daisy.
Feeling his long stare at her, Daisy was feeling embarrassed now. She couldn’t eat properly because his eyes were particularly glued to her.
‘Why are you staring at me?’
Daisy bit on her spoon. She raised her eyes to look at him.
“Cough! Cough!”
“Are you alright?”
“Ah… yes. Excuse me.”
Daisy awkwardly smiled. She grabbed the table napkin and wiped her lips and the table.
It was because when she raised her eyes, she saw Caspian’s eyes looking straight at her. She was very surprised that she choked on her food.
Camille quickly patted her back and helped her breathe. It was only for a moment, but it felt like her heart was about to burst inside her chest.
Caspian calmly patted his shirt and continued eating – still with a smile on his lips. No one could really read what was inside his mind. Even if one was to crack open his skull, he might not even understand what was inside.
‘That startled me!’
Daisy drank a cup of water afterward.
It had only been two weeks, but Caspian was making her feel as if they had known each other for a very long time.
After eating their lunch, the group of five went out of the cafeteria. Camille, Nathan, and Marco had class in the afternoon, so they returned to their classroom after lunch.
“Right, I may be back late later. I have to go and buy something outside the campus.”
“Do you have someone with you?”
Camille turned back on the two guys behind her and ultimately pointed at Nathan.
“He will.”
“…”
Daisy said nothing and nodded her head. At the end of the day, she wasn’t Camille’s parents to say anything about everything she does. She is just hoping she will take care of herself. At most, she can just remind her to take care of her safety.
“Take care when you go. Go back as soon as you’re finished, alright?”
“Alright. Shall I buy you the chocolate you wanted last time?”
“Save your money.”
“Okay. See you later.”
Camille waved goodbye and went away with Nathan and Marco. The two guys were even fighting about why Nathan would accompany Camille later while Marco was to be left behind. It turns out that Marco didn’t pass the activity and had to stay for some punishment. Daisy almost felt sympathetic toward him.
When they were gone, only Daisy and Caspian were left behind. Caspian was as cool as ever, but Daisy felt awkward being left alone with him.
She tightened her hold on her bag’s handle.
“Uhm… I will go first.”
“Do you like chocolates?”
“What?”
Daisy was about to walk away when Caspian suddenly asked her about chocolates. She stopped walking and looked back at him.
“I… do.”
“Then that’s good.”
“Yes?”
“Heh.”
Daisy blinked when she heard Caspian chuckle before walking ahead of her.
‘Did he just… laugh?’
Daisy shook her head to see if what happened was true, but Caspian was already far when she returned to her senses. Daisy was now utterly confused. What just happened?
First, he smiled at her widely. And now, he even laughed. What could be the meaning of this?
Daisy might not know the reason behind his confusing actions. Still, she was simply surprised why Caspian asked her if she liked chocolates.
Two weeks later, inside their classroom, Mr. Isaac discussed the importance of the drawing having a soul.
“A drawing can only have a soul if the artist portrays the right emotion on every piece of drawing. Do you understand?”
The students nodded their heads. Mr. Isaac saw they were soulless, so he quickly finished his lecture as he also had some errands to do afterward.
“Give me your outputs later. I will be out for a month so behave, though I will have someone to supervise you. Got it?”
“Yes!”
The students were more than happy to hear the news that he was going away. A terror professor is always a student’s nightmare.
“Thankfully, he’s going away. I’m tired of the outputs he makes us do. Are you feeling the same way, Daisy?”
“Quite the opposite. His lectures are enjoyable.”
“What –? Daisy, you’re really on a different level than us mere humans! Look, Caspian is nodding his head!”
For the past two weeks, Judy and Daisy have become closer. Often, they would sit together in class and help each other.
‘But why is he sitting next to me today as well?’
Of course, no one knew why Caspian loved to sit beside the two of them.
“Caspian, do you also think that Mr. Isaac’s lectures are enjoyable?”
“Very informative.”
“Hah–!”
Judy couldn’t help but let out an exclamation. These two people make her feel as if she was only a lowly mortal in their seemingly immortal intelligence. Sometimes, she wondered if Caspian and Daisy were secretly deities.
As they walked out of the classroom, Caspian suddenly grabbed Daisy’s wrist. Daisy looked at him, startled.
“For you.”
“Huh?”
“Chocolates.”
“Ah…?”
Daisy was taken aback and forgot to speak.
“Why are you giving me chocolates?”
“You said you like them.”
