The Reincarnated Minister's Second Daughter Wants To Live A Happy Life - Chapter 16
Chapter 16
“You two… heartless!”
“Oh.”
“Oh? What do you mean by ‘oh’?”
“…”
Daisy blinked her eyes several times as Gabriel asked her. Gabriel was standing before her, with his hands on his waist and complaining to her. Daisy looked at him and shrugged her shoulders.
The truth is Daisy was hurrying to go to the library in case she forgot what to write in her sample. She didn’t want to forget, so she ate her lunch quickly and walked fast. She didn’t know that she was actually in sync with Caspian.
Daisy looked at Caspian, who was already seated inside the library. Once again, he was sitting where he sat yesterday. Daisy ignored Gabriel this time again and sat down beside Caspian. The latter only looked at her and provided her with books she might need. Daisy quietly thanked him and started on her sample.
The scene was very harmonious. Being left alone in the middle of the library, Gabriel was hit by his cruel reality.
Gabriel: These two people! They really left me behind, ah!
When he saw the scene where Caspian gave books to Daisy and slightly nudged her chair so that she could sit comfortably, Gabriel almost vomited blood. He held it in and silently sat beside Daisy.
Daisy no longer paid him any attention, and of course, Caspian. As if he paid Gabriel any attention in the first place.
Gabriel was so hurt that he couldn’t think of anything to write, even though he was overflowing with ideas earlier while they were taking pictures. Add the fact that he wasn’t able to properly have his meal, and Gabriel had an upset stomach. In the middle of the making, he writhed in pain and bit his lips.
Daisy was highly focused on what she was doing, but she noticed that Gabriel had become silent. She thought that there was no need to pay him any attention. But upon remembering that they were ‘technically’ a group, she turned her head to her side.
She saw Gabriel clutching his stomach in pain. Do boys get stomach aches that easily? She was confused at first. She recalled how Gabriel was practically running after them right after he finished eating lunch. He didn’t eat properly because he was chasing her and Caspian.
Daisy grew worried about Gabriel and stopped what she was doing. As someone who had to take care of Camille for a long time, she knew how to ease his stomach ache, but since he was a boy, she wouldn’t do it even if she was given a hundred bucks.
Daisy put down her pen and closed her book. Caspian noticed it and whispered at her.
“What is the matter?”
“Gabriel seemed to be having a stomach ache. I will go to the infirmary and get him some medicine.”
Caspian looked at Gabriel, who was already sweating buckets and clutching his stomach even tighter. He wasn’t that cold of a person. After deliberating for some time, Caspian stopped what he was doing and stood up from his chair.
“Where are you going?”
“Wait here.”
Daisy furrowed her eyebrows at Caspian’s unexpected attitude. She thought he wouldn’t care, but unexpectedly, he also had some kindness.
Daisy looked down and grabbed the bottle of mineral water she had bought from the cafeteria earlier. She handed it to Gabriel, who had a painful expression.
“Drink water first. Caspian went to the infirmary to get you medicine.”
Gabriel took the bottle of water. When he heard that Caspian actually went to the infirmary himself to get him medicine, he was astounded. As far as he knew, Caspian isn’t that type of person. More or less, he would just ignore his pain.
Gabriel looked at Daisy, who was worried about him. Then a thought flashed in his mind.
“Were you the one supposed to go to the infirmary?”
“Huh? Yes, but Caspian beat me to it.”
“Now I know why.”
“Huh? What is it?”
“No, nothing.”
Gabriel shook his head. As he had expected, Caspian and Daisy had a special relationship. Though Daisy doesn’t seem to know that. Or maybe she was just pretending not to?
Gabriel wanted to laugh at Caspian’s unexpected actions. He seems detached from everyone but cares a lot about Daisy. Gabriel really thought that Caspian was worried about him and pitied him, but he was totally wrong, which makes Gabriel want to laugh once more.
Shortly after, Caspian arrived with the medicines.
“Catch.”
Instead of handing it to Gabriel, Caspian threw it to him without looking. Gabriel almost couldn’t catch the medicine, so he threw Caspian a hateful expression.
What are you looking at? I got you your medicine, so don’t look at me. It was as if Caspian was saying that to Gabriel with his eyes. Gabriel looked away and drank the medicine.
On the other hand, he was thankful that Daisy noticed his pain. If not for that, he would be sitting here until the evening and won’t be able to submit his sample article.
“Are you feeling alright now?”
“Yeah, I am alright now. Thank you.”
“You should thank Caspian, not me. He was the one who got you medicine.”
“Ah….”
Gabriel was hesitant, but it was the truth. He looked at Caspian, but he opened his mouth with a cold voice even before Gabriel could open his mouth.
“No need.”
“!!”
He wasn’t even looking at him, but Gabriel felt that Caspian hated him for some unknown reason. Gabriel gritted his teeth and looked at Daisy as if telling her he couldn’t do anything about it.
Daisy sighed and shook her head. She returned to what she was doing when she noticed that Gabriel was already fine.
Gabriel pouted and hesitantly looked back at his paper. As of now, he had written absolutely nothing. Because he was in pain earlier, the pain was much more than the ideas he had thought of earlier. It clouded his reasons. Now that he had to write, he forgot all of his ideas and had to start from scratch again. Gabriel held his pen and started writing with frustration.
On the other end, Caspian was paying attention to the people he was with, especially the person sitting beside him.
Her breaths were not loud, but Caspian could clearly hear them. Even the sound of her pen scribbling on her notebook was like music in his ears.
Earlier, when he noticed that she had stopped writing and the sound of scribbling scritch, scritch, he turned his head in her direction and saw that she was looking at that guy. He tightened the hold on his pen, but he caught sight of Gabriel writhing in pain while clutching his stomach.
For a moment, he wanted to laugh at his state, but he saw that Daisy was worried, so he held back his laugh. Daisy wanted to get medicines for Gabriel, but he hated that thought. That’s why Caspian personally went to the infirmary.
Arriving there, the nurse incredulously looked at him. Usually, it was girls who went to the infirmary for their monthly periods. But Caspian is a boy.
[Oh, what do you need?]
[Do you have medicine for stomach aches? The strongest one.]
[Stomach ache? We do have it here. Is it for your friend?]
[Yes.]
[I see.]
The nurse smiled at him. She seemed to be imagining something even Caspian could figure out what it was. He looked straight at the nurse’s eyes and opened his mouth.
[He’s a classmate.]
[Oh, a ‘he’, yes.]
The nurse looked embarrassed and handed him the medicine. Caspian thanked her and hurriedly went back to the library.
‘I don’t like how that nurse looked when I said ‘he’.’
He was confused by the nurse’s reaction. It only shows how Caspian is still unaware of how this world works as a person from the ancient.
As he went to their seat, he saw that Daisy was looking worriedly at Gabriel, so he threw him the medicine instead of giving it to him properly. He felt something stir inside of him.
Sitting down on his chair, he held the pen in his hand for a long time. He was observing what was happening beside him. As Daisy returned to doing what she was doing, Caspian let out a relieved sigh and loosened the hold on the pen. The poor pen was broken after.
Caspian was surprised to see the pen break on his hand. Fortunately, he always brought a spare. He took out one and wondered: why are these pens too weak?
The weak pen: Did you know how hard you were choking me? I left the world even before I could see its color!
Of course, no one noticed how Caspian broke a pen into two with his hands, even the person beside him. She was too focused on what she was doing and had no time to pay him attention. Daisy was definitely not snubbing him, but was only fully concentrated.
While the three of them were inside the library, racking their brains on what to write, the trio outside the campus happily went outside the restaurant after eating. They went straight to the movie theater at Nathan’s suggestion. Camille was jumping in joy at his suggestion and hurriedly dragged the two of them.
