Caspian and Daisy stopped at the same time after Gabriel’s words. Caspian was more affected than Daisy was. 

Caspian put down his camera and finally looked straight at Gabriel’s eyes. No one knew what he was thinking. It’s just that there were turbulent emotions inside his eyes. It was very obvious that his pupils quivered, and his hands holding the camera trembling.

Caspian and Daisy went silent. They didn’t know what to say. 

When Gabriel saw their bored expression, he was disappointed. He thought they would look at him with awe, but it was actually the opposite.

Gabriel was happy that they were finally giving him attention. Still, Caspian cut off his fantastical imaginations in the cruelest way possible.

“Have you written a sample report yet?” 

Gabriel was stabbed by this reality. He wanted to retaliate against Caspian, but his words were correct. The professor is waiting for them to pass a sample by five pm. He let out a deep sigh and smiled at them.

Gabriel grumbled more before following after Caspian and Daisy. They were already walking ahead of him as if they knew which direction they would walk. 

“Hey! That’s not the road to the basketball court! It’s here!” 

Caspian and Daisy simply walked back and turned right. They didn’t even give him a second glance. Gabriel felt snubbed. 

He quickly walked after them. He started taking notes of what he saw and what he could write for his sample sports article. In front of him, Caspian and Daisy were seriously taking pictures of the basketball court and the players inside. 

It was Saturday, but thankfully, the school’s basketball team was practicing inside. The trio had the chance to take excellent shots as they played. Gabriel was busy asking some players about what he thinks of as a player and what he thinks is the most essential thing in playing sport. 

Since they weren’t given a definite topic to work on, the trio decided to just make a simple sports feature. They wrote about the outstanding courts inside their campus and their teams, mainly the basketball team. This is because they are more famous among students, and of course, among girls who like basketball players. 

Just before lunch, the trio was able to get the materials they needed. Because they were famished by the time they finished, they went to the cafeteria together to eat.

This would be Gabriel’s first time eating with them, but it wasn’t definitely the first time with Caspian and Daisy. 

Caspian and Daisy looked like a couple walking in front of him, and he was the third wheel in their relationship. Gabriel sneered in his heart at that thought. Aren’t they here to eat, and the food is the same? What’s the problem with them having the same set of meals? 

“Please give me vegetables and soup.” 

“Me too.” 

“Uhm, water and yogurt.”

“Me too.” 

Caspian was just agreeing with what Daisy was ordering. Seriously, I am here, you two! Gabriel couldn’t help but scream in his heart. He could only internally scream. He was still afraid of the look in Caspian’s eyes. 

He thought that nothing could scare him anymore when he had been in even worse situations, but Caspian’s eyes weren’t the same as those. Every time Caspian looks at him, he feels like he is being skinned alive as if he was laid bare for his eyes to look at. 

Gabriel was lost in thought and lost his chance to order after Caspian and Daisy, so the people behind him were complaining already. Gabriel quickly came back to his senses and hurriedly ordered his food. 

He searched for his companions and found them not sitting too far from him. Putting down the tray of his food, he started to complain. 

“You didn’t even wait for me until I could get my food. Hateful.” 

“I thought you didn’t need to eat when you were just staring blankly at the empty air.”

Gabriel was embarrassed when Daisy casually told him that he was daydreaming in the middle of the day. So embarrassed! 

Gabriel collected himself and started digging into his food. No one talked while eating, so it would be embarrassing to talk alone. The people he is with now are people whose saliva doesn’t rot even when they are not speaking. 

In no time, they finished eating and stood up. Gabriel was too slow to keep up with them, so he was left alone – again. When he saw them standing up, Gabriel didn’t bother to finish his food and ran after them. These heartless people, ah! 

Panting, Gabriel grabbed Daisy’s arm. 

“What is it?” 

“Why are you… pant… always leaving me behind?”

“Too slow.” 

It wasn’t Daisy who answered but Caspian. Gabriel looked at him and couldn’t believe his ears. 

Gabriel: You’re way too fast while eating! Are you in a competition?! Is someone after you?! Am I really not that important to you?! I am with you! 

Once again, Gabriel was ignored after that.
