The Reincarnated Minister's Second Daughter Wants To Live A Happy Life - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
“Good thing I saw you passing by.”
The professor was extra excited as he ushered Daisy into the faculty room. Daisy looked up and saw Caspian and Gabriel standing before the professor.
Caspian looked at Daisy with his usual blank expression while Gabriel shot her a beautiful smile. It was so bright Daisy averted her gaze and looked at Caspian instead.
‘It was better to look at his pleasant face.’
Other professors were also looking in their direction, curious to see what the old professor was fussing about. When they saw Daisy’s group, they were surprised to see a group of good-looking students.
Caspian was the cool type of handsome, and Gabriel was the cute type of attractive. At the same time, Camille and Daisy exuded almost the same air when they were together. Maybe it was just that they were always together, people mistook them for sisters. Even so, Daisy doesn’t mind at all.
The other professors were euphoric to look at their pleasant, youthful appearances. Once a person gets old, he loses all of his youthful appearances; that’s why they become happy when they see youth with good faces. Who would ever say ‘no’ to a handsome man and a pretty girl? No one.
The professor sat down on his swivel chair. He looked up at Camille and asked Daisy who is she.
“Uh, this is my friend, professor. We were just on our way to go out and buy things.”
“I see. Then I won’t make this long.”
The professor rummaged through his drawer and handed the three of them (Daisy, Caspian, and Gabriel) last year’s copy of their school newspaper. Daisy was surprised. The two guys didn’t have much reaction as they were handed a document. Camille bent her head to look at the newspaper.
“This is a copy of our school’s newspaper. There will be a school conference in two months. Our campus will compete, but we don’t have enough students for that. I saw that the two of you have good photography skills. Do you want to try it?”
Daisy shook her head politely and looked at her professor.
“I don’t have enough experience with photography, sir.”
“That wouldn’t be a problem. First, you can take a couple of pictures later after I give you a topic and show it to me. Then this guy here… what’s your name again?”
The professor turned his head to the side, and Gabriel smiled widely.
“I am Gabriel, sir.”
“Oh, Gabriel, he will write the article. You can also be a group and talk about what you should do. Right Caspian, you can also write a separate article. I like the captions you put under the picture you submitted to me.”
The professor smiled and clapped his hands. Now that he has finished instructing the three of them, he wants to return to his work.
Daisy wanted to refuse, but it was the professor who asked her. Well, that doesn’t mean she would go to that competition if she submitted her pictures later. She had a hunch that Caspian would be chosen.
Seeing her expression, Camille tugged Daisy’s hand. She knew Daisy too well. She was bothered by something whenever she had that expression on her face. And that something was what happened just now inside the faculty.
“Huh? What is it?”
“Your expression… it doesn’t look good.”
“Oh, sorry. I was wondering if we can go out at this rate when the professor asks us to submit the samples before five pm.”
“Oh….”
Camille pouted when she realized she might not be able to go out with Daisy today. She became sad but smiled all of a sudden.
When Daisy saw that, she was puzzled. At times when she couldn’t be with Camille, she would grumble. But now, she was actually smiling. What happened?
“You can go and do your thing.”
“Really?”
“Yes! I just remembered that Nathan and Marco told me I can call them to play whenever I want?”
“They did?”
“Yes!”
Camille was enthusiastic as she told Daisy about them. She had a bright smile on her face that no one would have the heart to refuse.
Daisy squinted her eyes as she recalled those two tall guys who went with Camille yesterday to their classroom. It wasn’t that she didn’t want Camille to fall in love, but she didn’t feel particularly good towards them.
‘Anyway, I’m sure they will not let Camille be in danger.’
Daisy knew Camille’s situation more than anyone else, so her worry is only natural. She looked at Camille, who was already holding her phone and maybe sending a text to any of those two guys. She shook her head.
‘My precious Camille is starting to grow up.’
Nathan and Marco arrived outside the faculty office in no time, each wearing decent outfits. If Daisy didn’t know any better, she would have thought they were only being kind to Camille.
“Hello, Daisy!”
“Hello! Caspian, you’re here too.”
When they saw Caspian, they were a bit startled. They looked beside him and saw Gabriel. Like earlier, he smiled at them, and they smiled back as a greeting. After that, they didn’t say anything and only looked at Camille with a little bit of anticipation.
Daisy nearly gouged their eyes out.
After some small talk and reminders, Daisy let Camille and the two boys go and play. She listed a few reminders to the two boys, in which they even saluted her as soldiers do.
Daisy shook her head and turned around. The other two guys were waiting for her. Caspian was already looking far ahead and testing his camera. At the same time, Gabriel smiled at her widely when she looked at him. In the end, she was still here with him.
‘Someone must be playing with me.’ 1I, the great author! Evil laugh
Daisy cleared her throat and approached them. Since things had come to this, she had no choice but to spend the rest of the day with these two.
As soon as she thought of that, Caspian turned his head and locked eyes with her. She didn’t avert her gaze and stayed like that. The time seemed to stop as they stared at each other.
Seeing them like this, Gabriel coughed to make his presence. The two turned to him without changing expressions as if his presence was irrelevant. Gabriel felt embarrassed by their stares, especially Daisy’s. He raised his two arms as if he were admitting defeat.
“I promise, I did not intentionally do it.”
“I never said anything.”
“But you looked at me as if I deliberately did it.”
Gabriel had a pitiful expression on his face. Caspian furrowed his eyebrows when he saw that and nearly dropped him to the pond behind him.
When Gabriel saw that look on Caspian’s face again, he immediately stood upright. He slowly inched closer towards Daisy, who was also testing her camera.
“I… I think we should go… to do what the professor told us… haha.”
Gabriel awkwardly laughed and lightly tugged Daisy’s sleeves. Today, she was wearing a knitted jacket and a pair of jeans. She looked pretty enough for Gabriel to blink his eyes several times when he stared at her face.
Daisy felt him tugging on her sleeve, so she turned her head to him. She saw how his hand tightened on her sleeve as she looked in Caspian’s direction. As usual, Caspian was looking around with his expressionless face. So, Daisy couldn’t understand why Gabriel seemed to be afraid of Caspian.
Daisy raised her eyebrows and stealthily removed Gabriel’s hand on her jacket. She felt awkward.
“Well, what do you think we should do now?”
Caspian turned his head and looked at the two of them. Gabriel took two steps away from Daisy when he met Caspian’s eyes. He didn’t say anything, but it was enough for Gabriel to feel an instinctive fear and take two steps back.
“We were given a relatively easy topic. We should go and take a look at the courts inside our campus. We can get an idea once we are there.”
As usual, Caspian speaks long sentences when needed. It wasn’t necessarily long but direct to the point.
“What you said is right, what you said is right. So… shall we go there?”
Didn’t know when Gabriel walked ahead of them, he was already leading them the way to their destination. He even made the gesture with his hand as if he was acting as a devoted tourist guide for them. The only thing missing is a lapel microphone and a cloth tied around his head.
Daisy and Caspian followed after him. Unexpectedly, Gabriel knew the ins and outs of the campus, not befitting his cute personality. It was as if he really became a devoted tour guide for the two of them.
While they were walking, Gabriel never stopped talking, such as telling them about the school’s hundred histories, the monarchs who first founded the first layout of the campus, and the history of each building. He even told them that their campus used to be a historical landmark.
“Historical landmark?”
“Yes. Do you know about the Quiet Noises? The time when chaos-filled our country? Historians said that this was where they beheaded the traitors during that time.”
“…”
“…”
Caspian and Daisy went quiet at the same time.
