Chapter 7 : Small Comeuppance Saga ②: A Merciless Famous Streamer

Yuria was a famous streamer. What made her famous wasn’t just her talent or stunning beauty, but her personal brand. She was cheerful and clumsy at the same time. She was good at making other people like her. For example, she would mistakenly use an offensive item on herself when she needed a healing item, or accidentally throw a ‘scent ball’ and end up scaring off a shiny monster. Whether her behavior was genuine or craftily calculated, her charm as a clumsy but innocent girl had won her a wide range of fans, regardless of gender. She had grown her channel to become so popular, so much so that she had become a household name in Japan.

Currently, Yuria had her hair tied back and she was wearing sunglasses and a hat. A typical way for a famous person to hide their identity. Though, to be fair, no one would have expected her to come to  this school, especially when there was such a large crowd gathering. 

But more importantly… How? How did she know I came from this school? 

Ignoring my confused gaze, Yuria continued to glare at Onizuka. 

“You…What are you doing? How dare you… To my precious Ren-kun…”

“Huh…?”

Onizuka’s eyes widened in shock at Yuria’s words. He wasn’t the only one though. The other students watching the spectacle also started murmuring loudly between themselves. 

“My precious…? What do you mean by that, Yuria-san?”

Despite how flustered he was, Onizuka still maintained the same grin on his face. However, Yuria still kept on glaring coldly at him. 

“Don’t answer my question with another question. I’m the one doing the asking here.”

“Ye-Yes…”

“So? What you’re doing here is nothing but bullying, right?”

“….”

“And what about the other students who are just watching this bullying happen? Don’t you think bullying is the worst? Only the lowest of the low would resort to bullying. Can’t you see? Just look at Ren-kun. He’s all battered!”

A silence ensued between the crowd. Everyone present, including Onizuka, remained silent. 

Well, of course. Although Yuria was known to be the clumsy but cheerful girl, but right now… She was downright terrifying. Sure, her mouth might be curled up into a smile, but her glare was terrifyingly sharp. It was as if the bright personality she had was a front to hide a side of her that was shrouded with unknown darkness. 

“…You’re not going to say anything, huh? How pathetic. Hurting others without reason is very despicable. Only the scum of society would do something like that. You’ve harmed my precious Ren-kun. By all rights, you owed me a proper explanation, but since I’m a kind person, I will forgive you this once. You better be grateful.”

What was that? She was speaking so quickly that I couldn’t grasp what she was talking about. One thing I knew for sure. Yuria was furious. She was absolutely fuming with the fact that I was being bullied. I was being beaten out of my own volition though. Onizuka had my full consent, so I didn’t understand why Yuria was this angry. 

I was still sprawled on the ground, lost in my own thoughts when I realized Yuria was looking at me with a sympathetic gaze before she quickly returned her attention back to Onizuka. She glared icy daggers at Onizuka again. 

“…I got the bullying live because I was doing live-streaming earlier. I originally wanted to make a live-streaming session about finding Ren-kun, but given the horrible scene I happened to witness… I had no choice but to change my plan.”

She said while she gave her pocket a light tap. So she had been live-streaming the bullying online all long, huh. 

“Huh…?”

Onizuka just stood there, mouth agape. He was rendered stunned for a good several seconds. 

“Live-streaming… What do you mean?”

“You’re seriously asking me that question? It means exactly what it says. Stop asking such obvious questions. You disgust me.”

Yuria was speaking so quickly that it was hard to catch her every word, but her anger was palpable. I never imagined the cheerful Yuria would have this side to her. 

Wait.

The only reason I agreed to do this was to clear my name from the rumor. I thought if I could prove how weak I was, people would stop believing that I was the one who saved Yuria. I thought by doing this, I could return to my old daily life. However, if Yuria did actually live-streamed the whole thing, then… My plan would be ruined!

“Wa-Wait! Yuria!”

I staggered to my feet and quickly called out to her. 

“I’m fine, so… Could you please end the stream if you don’t mind?”

“Re-Ren-kun… How can you be this kind to someone like him…?”

Of course that wasn’t the reason why I asked her to end the stream, but for some reason… I could practically see the hearts in Yuria’s eyes. 

“No, that’s not it. It’s not that I’m kind or anything―”

“Don’t worry. I’ve already ended the live-stream, but of course… Everything that happened before had been broadcasted to the whole world.”

No, this won’t do. My effort will be in vain then.

Without giving me any explanation, Yuria suddenly grabbed my hand and led me out through the school gate.
