I could see my maxed status that I acquired in exchange for living a lonely school life. A horde of drugged police officers armed with guns were coming at me. It was an intimidating sight that would instill fear in the heart of a normal man. However, now that the effect of the dungeon could be applied in this area, I had nothing to fear. A student who was standing before me voiced his concern. He was still worrying about me even though I had told them to evacuate. 

“Heh. I told you, there’s no need for you to worry about me.”

I said with a confident smile etched on my face. I started walking toward the horde of police officer. There was no hint of hesitation in my step. 

“Right now… I’m more troubled on how to deal with them. I mean, there’s no way I can just kill them. I would end up in some serious trouble if I do.”

“Huh…?”

Making use of my maximum agility point, I closed the distance between myself and the police officers in an instant. I considered burning them all to cinders with fire magic or drowning them with water magic or maybe plunging them into madness with dark magic, but after weighing my options… I decided that a simple brute force would be the most effective method to defeat them. After all, I was still at school. Not in a dungeon. I couldn’t possibly use a magic spell that could cause destruction to the surrounding area. I would be creating a bigger problem for my future self. 

“Take this, you bastards!”

I swung the sword that I had summoned along with my status screen and a powerful shockwave scrambled across the area. The shockwave was so powerful that the police officers were sent tumbling backward helplessly, like dominoes. I didn’t cut them directly with the sword, but just the sheer shockwave from my sword swing alone was enough to incapacitate nearly 90% of the police officers. Of course, I made sure only to knock them out. Killing them would only cause more trouble for me. I definitely didn’t want that.

“Huh….?”

“What is this…? Are we in a movie or something?”

Completely stunned from surprise, the students who had been watching me from behind stood frozen in place. Their eyes wide from shock. 

“Da-Damn it…”

A few police officers who were lucky enough to not get hit by the shockwave glared at me.

“Do-Don’t move. If you move, we will shoot.”

They started taking out their guns from their holsters and pointed the guns at me without any hesitation. It must be the effect of the drugs. A modern day police officer in Japan wouldn’t be so quick to aim guns at someone. 

“Heh. You guys will shoot if I move, huh?”

I smirked as I continued to step forward confidently toward the police officers. 

“O-Oi…!!”

“What’s wrong? Why are you guys hesitating? Come on. Go ahead and shoot me already.”

“A-Are you an idiot?! I will make you regret your idiocy…!!”

Provoked by me, several police officers fired their guns at me, but… Of course, those feeble bullets wouldn’t be able to hurt me. The attack from an S-rank monster was a hundred times more painful than this. After receiving the onslaught of bullets, I cracked my jaw back in place, which had gotten dislocated from the bullets before smiling sinisterly at the police officers again. 

“What? Is that all you’ve got? Pathetic.”

“Wha-What did you say…?!”

“You guys are slowly becoming an eyesore. Just lay down and crawl around on the ground like the pest you are.”

“Ugh… In that case, next―”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah~ Whatever. I’m bored now. Better stay out now so I can defeat you all in a jiffy.”

I waved my hand and that small motion was enough to create a small shockwave that sent the remaining officer unconscious.

“That’s it, I guess. Enough cleaning for today. We should be safe for now.”

I said to a nearby student and then… 

“Wha-…?! Impossible…!!”

Just like that, I had successfully defeated the second wave without any casualties.

“A-Amazing…!!”

“Oomomo-san!! You’re super amazing!!”

“How did you do that?! Logically thinking, no normal human could ever do that!!”

For a moment, peace had returned to Gotsukiin High School. The students around me started cheering for our victory. Their voices were a mix of excitement and awe.

These guys had helped me, so I actually didn’t really mind hanging out with them for a bit, but I had to meet up with Iijima, the Deputy minister of the Dungeon Management Bureau. I couldn’t afford to dwell in this place for too long. So, I turned on my heel and said to them…

After checking that the students had nodded, I got into Jinba’s car. Seemingly able to read the situation, Jinba didn’t say anything even after I got into his car. He remained quiet. The other students were staring at him, obviously curious, but Jinba quickly turned his face to stay hidden and avoid being recognized. 

I leaned out the window, looking over at the group of students and said. 

“Bye then. I’ve got to say, after everything that you guys did today, I started to― Huh? Oi?”

What were they thinking? For some reason, they were lining up in a row to see me off. 

“What are you guys doing…? Are you trying to imitate the military or something?”

“No,no,no. This is just something we came up with on the spot. You really remind us of the Bloody Silencer that has been trending online lately, Oomomo-san.”

“Huh…?”

“So we figured we should see you off in yakuza style. You’re our leader… Or boss, so to say.”

“….Are you guys stupid? The heck with boss thingy.”

But then, Jinba, who was sitting next to me, suddenly burst out laughing. So I stepped on his foot mercilessly.

“Do your best, Oomomo-san. We don’t know what you’re going to do but… I hope we can see you again after this.”

“Yeah. I will see you guys again.”

And so, I left Gotsukiin High School with the other students seeing me off in the so-called ‘yakuza style’.
