Chapter 2: The Lazy Introvert Lives Lazily Again Today

Sighing, I pulled a 10.000 yen bill out of my wallet. This amount of money was practically nothing to someone like me, who had defeated countless monsters. A part of me found Onizuka’s excitement over a small change was adorable even. I knew I probably should’ve resisted or at least talked back to him, but if I could smooth things over with just this small amount of money then so be it. Besides, expending my energy on anything that wasn’t related to gaming was far too troublesome for me.

“…Here.”

I handed the bill over and Onizuka grinned from ear to ear as he took it.

“Haha! I’m so lucky to have an excellent slave like you! Take this!!”

“Ugh…!!”

Then for some reason, Onizuka punched me in the stomach before walking away while still laughing boisterously. Sometimes Onizuka would just leave without saying a word after I handed him the money. I guess today wasn’t my lucky day.

“I wonder how much money he has given to Onizuka by now?”

“Who knows? That must be his parents’ money. What a pathetic guy.”

I was crouching down while clutching on my stomach as Onizuka’s entourage jeered at me. To be hoenst, losing ten thousand yen stolen from me everyday and getting punched by Onizuka didn’t really bother me. I had billions in savings and I had received far stronger punches from the monster in the dungeon. Of course, it hurt. It physically hurt, but it wasn’t that painful. Hence why I just let them bully me again today. Just letting them be was less trouble. If I were to speak up, things would go out of control and I would have to use up more energy to deal with the aftermath. 

“Onizuka! I saw you yesterday! you were doing a collaboration with Corias, right?”

His entourages chatted up to Onizuka excitedly as Onizuka took his seat. 

“..Oh? You saw? Hahaha~ That’s right. I actually received a request for a collaboration.”

“Wow! That’s awesome! You’re practically a celebrity now!”

Corias. I wasn’t too familiar with things outside of gaming, but Corias should be a popular influencer. Dungeon streams had become immensely popular over the last few years on video sharing platforms and Corias had gained popularity from doing dungeon streams. If I remember correctly, Corias was a dungeon streamer with 100.000 subscribers and Corias had a flashy way of fighting by using a greatsword, which made for “great content” since it attracted a lot of fans.

“That’s superb, Onizuka. I heard you recently hit level 30?”

“Haha~ That’s right. Not to mention, I have a powerful skill, ‘Fist King’. That’s why famous people can’t leave me alone! Haha!”

“Onizuka, I think you’re going to be really famous one day. The video you’re in is already getting 50.000 views now!”

“Hahaha! I guess the video is going viral thanks to me? Man~ I really don’t know what to do now~”

…Amazing. I never really watched Corias’ videos much, but it turned out you could go viral with just level 30, huh. If I remember correctly the number of revenue was based on view count. At this rate, Onizuka could make a lot of money from that video. Well, to be honest, spending the day hunting a bunch of S-rank monsters would be more time efficient in terms of getting money. If I was ever in need of money, I would rather hunt down S-rank monsters like I had been doing now rather than doing something as inefficient as that.
