The Whispers of a Yandere - Chapter 47, Comfort!
Darkness overwhelmed his vision, as he panted heavily in a weak moment of protest.
—
Sora jolted awake, gasping as if the air had been ripped from his lungs.
His body convulsed, drenched in cold sweat, the sheets beneath him soaked.
His breath came in short, ragged bursts, like he had just surfaced from drowning.
His hands instinctively reached for his throat, his chest heaving, every cell on his body trembled. Sora’s eyes blinked aggressively as his vision was still blurry, his mouth agape, trying to form words.
“…H-h-he, he,” Sora stuttered as his vision slowly returned to normalcy,
“He d-did it!” He yelled, his voice boomed throughout the room.
The horrors of the resurfaced memories still played out vividly in his mind—the screams, the knife, the blood, the… helplessness. Every detail assaulted his senses.
Tears welled up in his eyes, his vision blurring once again, as the weight of the past crashed down on him.
As Sora continued to tremble and his face drowned in tears, the door suddenly burst open.
“Sora!” Ayame’s voice trembled as she rushed into the room, her eyes wide with panic.
She had heard him from the other side of the house, the desperate cries that sent chills down her spine.
She jumped onto the bed, taking him in her bosom, “Are you alright? Sora?”
Sora didn’t respond immediately, his body still trembling violently.
His breathing was uneven, his eyes filled with terror as if he were still lost in whatever nightmare had consumed him.
Ayame’s heart clenched at the sight of him. She gently cupped his face with both hands, forcing his lifeless eyes to meet hers.
“Hey, hey, Sora. It’s me…. Please calm down, I promise, you’re fully safe, my love,” Her words were as gentle as flowers, a stark contrast to her inner turmoil.
Sora’s lips quivered, trying to form words but failing as sobs broke through his throat.
“…h-he did it…” Sora whimpered, tears streaming down his face. “He made me forget… h-he… took everything from me…”
Ayame’s grip on him tightened, her face twisting in confusion and suspicion, but she didn’t say anything.
She gently pressed his face against her chest as she laid down with him.
Her arms wrapped around him in a protective manner, “You’re safe now, Sora,” She whispered, “No one will ever be able to hurt you anymore. I am here, I always will be,”
Ayame continued to comfort Sora, her hands gently caressing his back and head as his sobs slowly quieted.

A/N: I would make this chapter longer but I feel like that would ruin the moment, so next chapter it is!
