The Whispers of a Yandere - Chapter 46, Echoes Of The Forgotten! 4
With those thoughts, darkness overtook Kato’s vision as he took his last regretful breath.
Kenji stood there, panting heavily, staring down at Kato’s limp body.
He felt tremors of surreality running through his body. Blood from Kato’s lifeless body seeped into the wooden floor.
Kenji simply stared—his mind numb. After all these years of seething hatred, and countless nights of planning this whole stunt, he had finally succeeded in his endeavour.
As reality finally settled into Kenji’s mind—his face twisted into a grin.
He let out a distorted chuckle, wiping his bloodied hand on his shirt.
His gaze slowly shifted, following the crimson line produced by Kato and his eyes landed on Sora.
All this time, Sora hadn’t moved an inch, his face still covered with his father’s blood, which had begun to dry slowly.
His once bright green eyes were hollow, staring blankly at his parents’ bodies.
There were no cries of terror, no protest—just pure, unadulterated silence.
Sora’s miserable state pleased Kenji further, “What’s the matter kid?”
He sneered, his voice full of venom and mockery.
“This is certainly a pity…. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if you had screamed,”
Kenji clicked his tongue in disappointment, “But I guess it’s in a way, better you didn’t, wouldn’t want the neighbours waking up, would we?”
He reached out towards Sora, brushing his hair slightly to get a better view of his face, the boy trembled, yet still made no sound.
“Pathetic….. Just like your father,”
“But, worry not. I will be merciful and make sure you never remember this day ever again,”
Kenji reached into his pockets, taking out a small matte black box. The sleek design made its price evident.
He flicked it open, revealing a singular, translucent capsule inside.
“Do you know what this is?” Kenji whispered, tilting the box in front of Sora’s eyes.
“Of course you don’t, kek! This baby right here is your cure,” He said as he took out the capsule carefully.
“This costs quite a fortune, you know? I had to get the least potent version of this capsule, but coupled with the trauma you just went through, this should work nicely.”
“Oh, you must be confused with what I am talking about. Silly me!”
He mocked, his voice dripping with condescension.
“You see, this little thing will essentially cover all of your memories, and as I said previously, it should work even better with your trauma!”
Kenji explained enthusiastically, his voice full of twisted excitement.
“You’ll be nothing but an empty shell of sadness! Also, you know the best part?” Kenji leaned closer to Sora’s face, his eyes gleaming as he continued, “It doesn’t end there!”
“I will also adopt you after all the legal drama,”
He continued, the word ‘adopt’ rolling off his tongue with a mockery that sent a chill down Sora’s spine. “Can you guess what I will do after that?”
“It gives me two things,” He raised one of his fingers, “One, I can break you further! Slowly! Day by day, I will strip away every semblance of sanity you have left, until—you’re nothing.”
“*Cough*, my bad, sorry for the weird voice.”
“Second, when you’re eighteen, and I have had my filling of tormenting, I will make sure you sign away every last bit of your parents’ property to me,”
“The restaurant is also included, of course. Though I won’t touch it, it will rot with zero customers and staff. I don’t touch anything tainted by my brother.”
“Enough explanations, you’ll forget either way,”
He tapped Sora’s cheek lightly, his hand traced around Sora’s face and cupped it with a strong grip, opening Sora’s mouth.
Sora’s body twitched instinctively as Kenji brought the capsule closer,
“Say goodbye to everything–everything you have known. From today on, welcome your new life. A life to despair, a life where a void will always reside inside your soul.”
With a flick of his wrist, he dropped the capsule into Sora’s mouth, pushing it down with his thumb as he held Sora’s jaw shut, forcing the boy to swallow.
Sora’s eyes widened as he felt his body temperature rise and his breathing fluctuated.
Darkness overwhelmed his vision, as he panted heavily in a weak moment of protest.
