The Whispers of a Yandere - Chapter 43, Echoes Of The Forgotten!
It started as flashes—disconnected images, terror, and sounds flooding in.
—
The sky had adorned a deep shade of navy blue as a car moved through the quiet streets.
The streetlight cast long shadows along the road, some flickering as they passed by. Sora gazed out the window, watching the world take darker shades of color.
He had been enjoying his birthday, especially with the Tsubasa family involved–laughing with Ayame.
Kato gripped the steering wheel with a tension that hadn’t been there earlier. His eyes were fixed on the road, yet his thoughts were elsewhere.
Knowing her husband’s thoughts, Hana caressed his thigh slowly as a gesture of comfort.
Kato’s brother, Kenji, had suddenly called half an hour back, talking about dropping by and wishing Sora.
While this could be considered normal by many, it was not for Kenji. Truth be told, the two brothers never had a good relationship to begin with.
Kato and Kenji had always been total opposites. Kato, the diligent son, managed to stay out of trouble and take on their family legacy— the restaurant.
Kenji, on the other hand, had been reckless since forever. He was involved with gangs, drugs, and basically every type of trouble their father despised.
This major difference had drawn a line between them for years, a line that was reinforced when their father fully handed over the restaurant to Kato, making him swear to protect it–never giving Kenji a part of it.

As they pulled into the driveway, Kato glanced and Hana, “Let’s get inside and prepare quickly, he will be here any minute,” Hana nodded with a reassuring smile.
The front door creaked open as the warm air from inside brushed against their skin. Sora was the first to go inside, his mood subdued.
As they settled in, Hana busied herself in the kitchen with Kato.
They didn’t have to cook anything considering they had brought some food from the restaurant, the only thing they had to do was warm it up.
The minutes ticked by slowly, Sora’s thoughts wandered back to Ayame.
Recently, Sora realized Ayame had taken up most of his thoughts. What was this strange feeling?
While Sora was lost in thought with Kato and Hana busy with prepping everything, the sound of the doorbell shattered the silence.
