The Whispers of a Yandere - Chapter 41, DID?
After reciting the whole thing to Sora, Yuta expected him to be weirded out, or at the least, show some sort of negative emotion. Instead, there was a creepy smile plastered on Sora’s face.
‘What the……’ Yuta thought, a chill running down his spine as he took a step back.
“…That’s” Sora started, his voice eerily calm, “That’s actually adorable,” The smile on his face twisted into a grin, his eyes shining with a strange mix of affection and something darker.
Yuta swallowed hard, trying to make sense of Sora’s words, “S-sweet?” He stammered, “Sora, she nearly killed a guy… for you…” In a moment of confusion, Yuta switched from Arashi to Sora.
Sora tilted his head, as if Yuta was the crazy one, “Exactly,” He said.
“…Huh?” Yuta muttered.
“I mean, isn’t it adorable she could nearly kill someone for her loved ones? Doesn’t it prove the depths of her love?” Sora said, his voice filled with affection.
“….L-love?” Yuta repeated, trying to wrap his head around Sora’s words, “That’s not n-normal! That’s not love, it’s danger, it’s obsession!”
“So? It’s two sides of the same coin, some people love…. Some obsess. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference,”
Sora’s nonchalant reply made Yuta’s blood run cold, “You’re serious, aren’t you?” He asked.
“Of course,”
“…You need help, Sora. You’ll destroy you-” Before he could finish, Sora interrupted.
“It’s irrelevant what others think, Yuta. Those who are showered with love every day grow complacent, blind to its true value. But for those of us who’ve known only coldness from a young age, love becomes a rare and precious thing. So, don’t presume to judge or interfere with my feelings. Only those who have starved truly understand the worth of a single morsel,” Sora’s eyes grew colder with each word.
While Yuta stood, frozen in bewilderment, Sora continued, “I appreciate your concern, but I know what I want,”
“O-okay,” Yuta finally spoke, it seemed like he didn’t want to argue further.
“Anyway, why are you speaking to me now? I mean, what changed? Are you not scared of her threat anymore?”
“Uhh, I am still scared of her, but my curiosity got the best of me….” Yuta confessed.
Sora chuckled in reply, “Well, it was a nice chat,”
“Do you have DID?” Yuta’s sudden question caught Sora off guard.
(DID = Dissociative Identity Disorder)
“Sorry? I mean, I don’t think so. Why ask?”
“Nothing, nothing,” Yuta said as he slowly started to back away.
‘I thought that woman was bad but this guy is way worse, holy shit! And how the fuck does he change his personality so much? At first, I thought he was an introverted dude who’d stammer with every word. I should stay the hell away from those two, my curiosity be damned,’

(Recess Time)
After having their lunch, Sora and Ayame went towards their usual place, the library. It was empty as ever. Sora always wondered why it was so empty, most don’t have an interest in books but there should be a few, right?
Today, Yuta had given him the answer, “Ayame, are you good at fighting?” He suddenly asked.
“…Huh?” She directed her confused gaze at him, “I mean…”
“It’s okay, I don’t mind, you can be truthful,”
Ayame smiled awkwardly, “I mean, of course. I am fairly good at it…”
“Cool! Can you teach sometime in the future?” Sora asked with genuine enthusiasm.
Ayame blinked in surprise, her expression softening as she processed his words, “You want to learn self-defence,” She asked, tilting her head slightly.
“Mhm, the most I can do currently is self-offense,” Sora chuckled, “It could be useful, you know? I mean, it’s always good to be prepared… Just in case,”
Ayame studied him for a moment, “Are you sure? I mean I don’t mind, but it can hurt at first, actually, it always hurts,”
“Yeah, absolutely, I want to protect myself, and more importantly…..Protect you”
Ayame’s heart skipped a beat as she instantly replied, “SURE!” She almost yelled, though quickly added.
“Though, we will take it slowly.”
Sora grinned, a wave of excitement washing over him, “Thanks!”

Sora was waiting by the school gate, his eyes scanning the surroundings. The usual hustle and bustle of the students slowly faded. Ayame had gone to the washroom to freshen up.
The students were gone and Sora stood there alone waiting for his girlfriend.
Suddenly, the sound of a car echoed throughout the area, Sora didn’t think much of it considering cars go by every now and then.
But soon he felt something off, the sound of the engine grew louder. He looked behind towards the source of the sound, and there he saw the car.
Seeing the car sent chills down his spine, the car itself was nothing special, but the familiar car model and the number plate…
The vehicle came closer as it came to a stop in front of him, from the car came out none other than his Uncle.
