Volume 02 Chapter 12: Fervor
Side: Riel
Here we are, halfway through running the dungeon.
Honestly, I never thought we could build a village or town with our own hands.
But with Yuki-san’s Dungeon Master abilities, the nine of us can handle almost all the work.
I look at the paper detailing the current situation.

Yuki-san’s comments are scattered throughout, but it’s detailed and easy enough for even me to understand.
But…
“““Reduce the monster army enhancement supplies!”””
Eris, Ratsu, and Milly immediately gang up on him.
“Whoa, so sudden!? It’s a solid allocation, isn’t it!?”
“I don’t know what these ‘firearms’ are, but we’ve handled military threats with the traps we already have. What weapons do we even need?”
“Ugh.”
Eris’s sharp jab hits home.
“I’d love to indulge Onii-san’s wishes, but sinking 100,000 DP into this? No way!! At least cut it to 30,000 DP!”
“Half or less!?”
Ratsu casually slashes the budget to less than half.
“I’m sorry, but we need enough DP to last at least three years without any income.”
Milly explains her reasoning apologetically.
“…That’s fair.”
Yuki-san seems to get it and backs down easily.
What’s that? It’s like he knew it was a no-go from the start?
“Hey, everyone. What’s next to decide? The floor details and immigrant housing are already done, right? If there’s no more agenda, I’d like to head to the military garrison’s training facility and try some stuff out.”
I propose this.
“Riel, you’re too naive. Sweeter than the ice cream we first ate here. There’s still stuff to decide. What we need to settle now is…”
Ratsu glances at Milly.
“What and how much luxury goods to stock up on!”
Milly thrusts her fist toward the sky. Well, the ceiling’s there, though.
“To put it simply… like, whether to stock more of Riel’s favorite fish dishes or those weird weapons.”
Eris explains it to me with a wry smile.
“We also need to consider the prices of those luxury goods.”
Yuki-san adds at the end.
“What’s that…!? Then stock up on those hachipo shuriken! I want more of those!! Like, one copper coin each! Kodachi too, same price!!”
I can’t help but blurt out.
I got some weapons from Yuki-san before, from this place called Japan (?), and they were amazing.
Shuriken totally match my style. You can throw them like arrows to deal damage, and kodachi and katana have insane cutting power!!
If we sell those, they’ll definitely be a hit!! Especially if they’re cheap!!
“Are you an idiot!? Do you know how much shuriken and kodachi cost!? One shuriken is 50 DP! Kodachi and katana start at 500 DP minimum! Selling them for a copper coin? Are you mocking us?”
“Eek!?”
Ratsu snaps at me with terrifying intensity…
Why’s she so mad~?
“Now, now, Ratsu, calm down. So, Riel, when you were an adventurer, how much did you earn in a day?”
“Uh, Eris, what’s that out of nowhere? Um, let’s see… five silver coins on a good day, maybe seven copper coins on a bad one? I was pretty awesome, you know!! Five silver coins!! That’s half a gold coin in a single day!! A gold coin’s enough for a family of four to live on for a month, you know!”
I boast confidently about my earnings back then.

“Ho, Riel’s little lady, I thought you were pretty good during training, but you were earning quite a bit, huh? Rank… let’s see, 5? No, 6?”
Mauve-san talks to me cheerfully.
“Oh, the ‘Guardian Hero’ sure knows his stuff!! I was Rank 6. Well, I lose to Mauve-san at Rank 8, though.”
“No kidding. I worked hard to get there. Not soft enough to let Riel’s little lady overtake me.”
Since I don’t have much of a role in dungeon operations, I mostly spend my time chatting leisurely with Mauve-san and the others.
And yesterday, since the training facility was completed, I trained with Mauve-san, Tori, and Kaya until dinner.
“Riel, sorry to interrupt your chat, but the average person earns about 2–4 copper coins a day. One DP is generated per hour from a regular person, so 24 DP a day.”
“Yeah, I get that.”
“You seem to earn more than expected, Riel. Let’s say your earnings are 7 copper coins a day, which equals about 24 DP.”
Eris walks to the whiteboard, writing down what she just said.
“Those shuriken, right? The ones you wanted are 50 DP each. That means you’d need to be absent from the dungeon for two days to afford one. Kodachi or katana are 500 DP, about 20 days’ worth. If we sold them for one copper coin, which you can earn in a day, our DP would run out in no time. Got it?”
“Yeah. Ratsu, sorry for not thinking it through. I got a bit carried away.”
“No, I’m sorry for yelling. But thanks to you, Riel, we’ve got a rough idea of the DP conversion rate.”
“Yes, around 24 DP for about 5 copper coins, give or take? We’ll need to adjust based on the item, though.”
With that, Eris and Ratsu return to their discussion.
I’m a bit teary-eyed, feeling down.
As expected, I’m not much help.
“Riel, don’t get down. You said something important. Thanks to you, we’re moving the discussion forward.”
Yuki-san pats my head.
“Was what I said really helpful?”
“Hell yeah. Those weird weapons you mentioned could become a specialty of this place. We also got a rough sense of the value of money versus DP. Nice work.”
As I talk with Yuki-san…
“Heh heh heh, Eris, Ratsu. Now that we’ve got a rough idea of DP’s value, I’ve got a proposal!!”
Milly calls out to them loudly, grabbing everyone’s attention.
“What is it, Milly?”
“What’s your proposal?”
Eris and Ratsu ask almost simultaneously.
“We should invest 5000 DP in ultra-high-end stuff like Romanee-Conti◯ or Ballantine◯-year! It’ll definitely motivate the residents to work hard!!”
““Shut up, you drunkard!!””
Milly’s going wild over alcohol or something.
Even I can tell, after that conversation, how absurd it is to sink 5000 DP into that.
“Ratsu-san, I want these!!”
In the middle of the argument, Asrin toddles over and hands Ratsu a piece of copy paper.
“Ice cream, potato chips, chocolate… Doesn’t Milly have this kind of pure heart?”
“Nghhh… Asrin!! You want to drink delicious sake too, right!?”
“Eep!?”
“Oh, come on, enough!! Asrin-chan, come over here. That woman’s just a booze maniac!!”
It’s getting pretty heated~
But, like Asrin, maybe if I write down what I want and organize it, it’ll be easier for Ratsu to understand?
I start to write on some copy paper…
“Um!! Can you hear me out!!”
The Saintesses, who’ve been silent until now, suddenly speak up.
“…What? Got a complaint?”
Milly glares at them coldly.
I think it’s unavoidable…
But it’s probably not that simple for her. Kaya seems the same way.
“Yes. The budget for the healing facility and security facility I proposed the other day hasn’t been included, so I’d like you to reconsider.”
…Now I notice.
It’s Lulua-sama speaking.
Up until now, it’s mostly been Elju-sama. Did something change in her mindset?
But before I can think too much about it…
“Oh, forgot about that. Sorry, I’ll add it to the budget.”
“Let’s take it from Onii-san’s cut budget.”
“That’s harsh!?”
And so, the meeting moves forward with everyone’s desired luxury goods purchases.
“Okay, I’ve gotta write down my favorite stuff too!!”
