The Villainous Uncle in the Adult Game Gets Unusually High Praise from the Heroines - Chapter 40
To be honest, I didn’t really know what direction this world’s “fate”—a term I’d use for convenience—would take.
First of all, the original work upon which this world was based didn’t exactly prioritize the plot. That left me uncertain about how much of the original knowledge I had would actually apply here.
And more importantly, the stories about Tomoe Hinomoto-chan, Sakurako Tendo-chan, Aina Rindo-san, Sho Rindo-kun, and the Kongo sisters…
Well, let’s just say this was a tricky matter.
When it came to “netorare” (NTR) eroge games, the way their stories played out varied widely depending on the game. The game in question, “Before They Knew It, Everyone Became His Playthings” was designed as a two-playthrough experience.
The first playthrough followed what was called the “Main Route”, told from Sho Rindo-kun’s perspective. The second playthrough was the “Hidden Route”, narrated from Sakurako-chan’s point of view.
By telling the story through the heroine’s eyes, the process of being “taken” was depicted in painstaking detail.
What I meant to say was, even though I had some knowledge about the world and characters, I didn’t truly know my own inner thoughts, my emotions, or even the specific actions I must have taken in the original work.
For example, there were moments when Takeshi Tendo—the “me” of this world—brought out some suspicious items, prompting Sakurako-chan to ask, “Where did you even get that from!?” only for him to reply, “I got it online.”
But beyond these scattered details, additional context for my actions wasn’t really provided.
To put it bluntly, the main character or “male tool” in an NTR game often functioned more as a plot device than a fully fleshed-out character.
And as far as “Before They Know It” goes, Takeshi Tendo was no exception.
Given that, I really had no choice but to be cautious about what actions I took from here on out.
While there were ero-games out there where the “cuckold rod” characters engaged in a battle royale, in this world, I was the only one playing that role, so there was no way I’d end up being the one who ended up with “everyone”. (T/N: Cuckold rod meaning characters that commit NTR)
But, yeah…
The problems faced by the heroines in this story.
In the original work, they were likely intended as “spices” to heighten the impact of the NTR elements. They served only to emphasize the erotic tension of the story.
Yet now that these “problems” had manifested in the real world, I could no longer just dismiss them as “spicy details”.
This was something anyone who reincarnated into a fictional world like this—assuming there were others like me—would likely agree on.
What served as captivating drama in the narrative was nothing more than life’s hurdles for those of us who inhabited this world.
It was perhaps the starkest difference between being a third-party observer and being the one living through it.
And so, for now—
“Hey, Tomoe-chan.”
With Sakurako-chan off at cram school, I decided to turn to Tomoe-chan and ask her directly.
Drawing lines on her sketchbook with quick, fluid motions, she first stretched with a long “Hmm,” then tilted her head side to side before glancing my way.
“What is it?”
“It’s about Yozuki-chan.”
“Ah, hmm,” she said, her expression suggesting she’d expected this subject to come up.
“To get straight to the point, I don’t think the problem’s been resolved.”
“Really?”
“Yozuki-chan hasn’t changed, and Asahi-chan is still sulking.”
“Hmmm?”
“In other words, it’s like, ‘I’ve apologized so much, and yet she still won’t forgive me?!’ That kind of vibe.”
“Ah…”
I knew it.
I could understand how they felt.
If we flipped the perspective, Yozuki-chan might also be stuck wondering, “How long am I supposed to keep enduring this?”
“And as for Sho-kun—well, no offense, but he’s an outsider in this issue, so he’s kind of stuck on the sidelines.”
“Yeah, that makes sense.”
“But couldn’t the same be said for you, Take-san? You’re an outsider too.”
“I haven’t said anything yet, though.”
“Still, it’s only natural to worry when someone barges into your house like that,” she replied, frowning with a conflicted look.
“Honestly, this might just be something that time will solve on its own. That’s what I’ve heard about sibling fights, anyway.”
“That… might be true.”
Yeah, that certainly might be the case.
In fact, it probably was.
At least, that was what I thought at the time.

But then came the weekend, shortly after that conversation.
“I’m back again.”
This time, Yozuki-chan showed up with an oversized backpack on her shoulders.
