The Villainous Uncle in the Adult Game Gets Unusually High Praise from the Heroines - Chapter 39
Having finished gathering the details of the situation—
“Yozuki-chan, um—”
I racked my brain, trying to figure out the right thing to say to her. She was still visibly agitated, but for now, I decided to preface my words with an apology.
“I’m sorry, but showing up out of the blue and saying, ‘I want to live here’ is a bit unreasonable. It’s not just a matter of common sense—something like that requires a lot of preparation… yes, preparation.”
“Are you saying it would be fine if I prepared everything?”
“W-well… I suppose—”
“Take-san,” Aina-san interjected, giving me a sharp look.
“Look, at the very least, if we give her some time under the pretense of preparation, she’ll definitely cool down. Besides, during that time, there’s bound to be a discussion of some sort,” I reasoned.
“But as they say, ‘the tongue is the root of misfortune’. What if, by some chance, her family actually agrees and says, ‘Please take care of her’?” (T/N: Bleach Reference)
Would her parents really say something that extreme, sending their daughter off to live with someone else? I doubted it, but it was true that assuming such a thing couldn’t happen might be irresponsible.
“You’re right. That said, if circumstances arise where her family approves and makes such a request, we’d have to seriously consider it.”
“There are circumstances,” Yozuki-chan pointed out.
“Yes, I understand that. But, Yozuki-chan, just as you have your circumstances, your family likely has theirs. Especially your parents. Wouldn’t they be worried if their daughter suddenly disappeared?”
“T-that’s…”
Yozuki-chan wasn’t foolish. While she might not have been thinking clearly in her current emotional state, she was still capable of understanding that much. From what she had said, the root of the issue this time seemed to stem from something her sister had said.
“You’re right,” she finally admitted, looking slightly flustered. She glanced at me, then at Aina-san.
“I’m sorry. I feel a little calmer now. But still, if I go back home right now, I might end up fighting with her again. Would it be okay if I stayed here for a little while just to cool off?”
“That much is fine, but it’s already pretty late, so make sure you keep the time in mind and think about when you need to go back.”
“Alright.”
She nodded firmly and then closed her eyes with a small “Hmm”.
“…I’m sorry for any trouble caused, Rindo-senpai’s mother.”
“Oh no, not at all. I was just worried if my son had been a bother to you in any way.”
“No, not at all. If anything, Rindo-senpai has been a big help to me.”
“That’s good to hear. But if there’s ever an issue, don’t hesitate to let me know.”
With that, we exchanged contact information and continued talking for a bit. By the time we were done, Yozuki-chan had calmed down significantly.
“Goodbye, then,” she said as she rolled her suitcase along, taking her leave from the house.
