The Villainous Uncle in the Adult Game Gets Unusually High Praise from the Heroines - Chapter 21
This was my second visit to the Rindo household. The first time was to discuss Sakurako-chan. This time, I was simply invited.
Being invited to Aina-san’s house like this was undoubtedly because I’d been properly interacting with her day by day: greeting her whenever we met, sharing food, and patiently giving her sweets.
She’d given various things in return, and I’d properly thanked her and shared my impressions. These daily efforts had surely borne fruit.
There was also perhaps the “force of the original work”? The story probably wouldn’t progress if I didn’t visit this house. Though that’s just my assumption—I didn’t actually know if such a force existed.
Well then. So here I was in the dining room, seated and enjoying the tea and cookies Aina-san had served. Or rather…
“Oh, these…”
“Yes, homemade. They’re nowhere near as good as yours, Tendo-san, but they’re decent, aren’t they?”
“No, no, I’m very happy to be able to eat your homemade sweets, Rindo-san.”
“You always say such nice things, Tendo-san,” Aina-san said thoughtfully.
“Though I hate to say it, I initially thought you were more uptight. You’d quickly look away when we met, and barely say a word before leaving when I called out.”
“Ah…”
She was probably talking about when “Takeshi Tendo” wasn’t me.
“Well, I was probably just nervous back then. Now I’ve gotten used to life here, you see.”
“I hope that’s true. I find the current you very charming. Your smile is natural, and your sweets and cooking are delicious.”
“Haha, compliments won’t get you anything. All I can offer is sweets and cooking.”
“That’s something to look forward to. Especially the char siu you gave us before—Sho really liked it.”
“Oh, is that so?”
Certainly, boys his age love strong flavors like that. Being male myself, I understood. Speaking of young Sho-kun… Though we’d never met, I wondered what he was doing now? He seemed to be active in the Literature Club, but I didn’t hear much about that. It would feel weird to ask Sakurako-chan or Tomoe-chan.
Nevertheless, what we ended up discussing was mainly about raising children. Specifically, about their studies. They were second-year high school students now, so it was definitely the time to be thinking about entrance exams.
“I wonder if I should send him to cram school like Sakurako-chan.”
“Well, that really depends on Sho-kun’s motivation, doesn’t it? Without the will to study, no amount of effort will mean anything.”
“Since studying is important for the future, I wish he would try harder.”
“That’s the difficult part of being a parent, isn’t it?”
“Yes. I think it’s my ego to push too hard, but just watching silently doesn’t feel right either. I wonder what my husband would say if he were alive.”
“He might surprisingly say nothing and just let the child decide freely.”
“That’s—something he would say.”
At that point, Aina-san looked at the empty plate that had held sweets and said, “I’ll bring some more tea snacks,” before disappearing into the kitchen with the plate.
As I was sipping my tea, wondering if there were really more snacks, I suddenly heard a loud scream and rushed toward the sound.
In the kitchen, Aina-san had collapsed as if her legs had given out.
“What’s wrong?!”
“N-no, it’s just… that. There was one.”
“…What?”
“A… cockroach…”
“Ah…”
That was awkward to hear. She might think the house wasn’t properly cleaned, and anyway, cockroaches were something nobody wanted to mention.
“Can you stand?”
I extended my hand to her as I spoke. Aina-san nervously reached for my hand—
“Kyaa!”
Perhaps because she hadn’t regained her strength yet, or maybe because the floor was slippery, her body tilted and fell forward. But it was fine. Just like before, being tackled by such a slim, clearly light woman wouldn’t make me fall—
Squish
“Ugh…”
I desperately held back a strange sound from coming out. Because where her hastily extended hand had landed was… well… my crotch. I thought I was going to be crushed. Well, it wasn’t that soft so that wouldn’t happen, but mentally it was that terrifying.
“Ah, eh. Eep!”
Aina-san seemed to realize what she was touching, and with a gasp quickly withdrew her hand.
“I-I’m so sorry. How shameless of me…!”
“N-no. This was an accident, so please don’t worry about it. Actually, it would help if you didn’t…”
“Y-yes…”
Though flustered, she nodded. Then, with those words in her mouth, she gave an awkward smile.
“S-so. Shall we continue our tea over there?”
“Y-yes.”
I wondered if I managed to smile properly. Thinking this, I returned to the dining room with her.
…In the end, after a few minutes of awkward conversation, I ended up going home.
