The monsters at the beginning of Dragonic Fantasy gave you 1 or 2 experience points, tops. You needed about 10 experience points to level up from level 1 to level 2. In contrast, the monsters at the start of Final Quest gave 10 or 20 experience points, and the experience required to reach the next level was around 100.

That was just for going from level 1 to level 2. After that, the required experience increased exponentially and that exponential rate was overwhelmingly higher in Final Quest.

Later in Final Quest, monsters showed up that gave ridiculous amounts of experience… And you also needed ridiculous amounts to level up. I had completely forgotten about that. I’d been feeling good about being able to use magic from that world, getting a little full of myself with the whole “I’m so OP” vibe, but if growth was going to be this slow, then that was going to turn into a pretty serious problem.

I mean, at this rate, actually beating the game is going to be way too hard for me…

Even after that, I kept hunting goblins with my father and the others. But of course, this was a low-difficulty dungeon.  I didn’t gain a single level. We finished today’s hunt and safely returned to the estate.

Father seemed extremely satisfied with what he saw as my promising potential, but from my point of view, a major problem had just emerged. Today marked my official debut as an adventurer, so the whole mansion was holding a celebration party.

The grand hall of the estate had been lavishly decorated, with a gleaming chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The tables were lined with luxurious dishes, and a sweet aroma wafted through the air. Servants bustled about in a flurry, adding to the festive atmosphere. But my heart was anything but light. Even with the feast before my eyes, I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy the food. That was the state I was in.

“Rubest, you really did well today!”

Father said with a beaming smile, patting me on the shoulder. If I stayed gloomy, it would only make him sad, so I forced the best smile I could muster.

“Thank you, Father.”

I replied with a smile, but inwardly I was filled with panic. At this rate, leveling up would take an enormous amount of time. Would I be ready in time to fight the Demon Lords…? No, it was almost impossible.

What should I do? Isn’t there a more efficient way to earn experience?

While everyone enjoyed the glamorous festivities, I was the only one stewing in worry.

“Nii-ni, did you go to the dungeon and defeat a bunch of monsters?”

Liana tugged on the hem of my clothes and tilted her head at me.

She’s so adorable… 

My little sister in my previous life was cute too, but the one I had in this life was so cute that I was certain the sun was shining out of her eyes. My worries vanished in an instant.

“Yeah, I went to a dungeon.”

“Lucky… I wanna go too.”

She puffed out her cheeks in envy. Well, if she inherited some power from our father or mother, she should be able to fight decently. But, knowing our overprotective father and the fact that my debut came at this age, it seemed Liana’s debut would probably be even later than mine. 

As I enjoyed spending time with Liana, I began holding a strategy meeting in my head with the Goddess. Of course, it was about the experience point issue. At that moment, the Goddess’s voice echoed in my head.

『Can’t you make it so I need less experience than normal? Like, just tweak the settings or something?』

『…That’s not possible. I’m sorry.』

『Seriously? You can’t lower it just a little?』

『I-I can’t! I’m really sorryyyy!』

It would’ve been really nice if we could change it, but oh well. I decided to move on to the next question.

『…You can see my status and stuff, right, Goddess?』

『Y-Yes.』

『Then, in the future, could I ask you to let me know when my HP drops during training?』

『Th-That’s not allowed…!』

『Okay then, guess I’m not helping you with anything from now on. That’s it. Bye.』

Even if she summoned me in my sleep to talk strategy and help with her task, I’d just boycott the whole thing.

『F-Fine! Just HP! If it’s only HP, I’ll tell you, so please keep helping meee!』

You should’ve just said that from the beginning.

But with that, I managed to solve at least a part of the problem. The experience point issue might reduce efficiency a little, but it shouldn’t create any major obstacles to leveling up.

There was a method used in Final Quest to quickly level up new characters. What you needed was a character with a large max HP and some healing items or healing magic.

『W-What are you planning to do with that?』

『Well, I’ll try it later. For now, I’m just going to dote on Liana, so be quiet.』

『…That’s not fair. I want to dote on Liana-chan too.』

『Liana is my precious little sister. I’m not sharing her with you!』

『Muuu… That’s not fair… I’m going to go report this to your little sister from your past life.』

『Don’t you dare!』

If my previous life little sister found out about this, who knew what she’d do to me. That girl was basically a full-on yandere…

Still, while hugging Liana tightly, I continued formulating my next plan.
