- Chapter 61: "It's None Of My Business Anyway"
“Yaaawn...”
Man, I was sleepy…
I stifled yet another yawn, having lost count of how many they’d been. I had to wait here until Yuito and the woman he was with left the store. Since I didn’t know when they’d leave… time felt even longer.
“Kasajima-kun, you look sleepy.”
“Well, yeah…”
Despite an hour having passed, Mahiro still maintained that cool expression… Amazing, she was still radiating that sparkling aura.
I could easily kill time on my smartphone, but since Mahiro wasn’t touching her phone and was just waiting, it felt awkward to use mine…
“I wonder what Yuito and his companion are talking about.”
Since they were probably not killing time on smartphones, their conversation must be pretty engaging to last over an hour. What kind of topic could be so absorbing…?
“Yes, I’m curious too.”
“Maybe they’re talking about someone they like. Ha ha ha!”
“…”
“…Could you please stop gripping your iced coffee cup like you’re about to break it? It was a joke.”
I heard a dangerous creaking sound coming from her cup.
“That’s because you’re saying strange things, Kasajima-kun.”
“Well, I was just suggesting a possibility… um… sorry.”
I should stop saying weird things. I’d forgotten how dangerous these beautiful sisters could be when it came to Yuito’s love life. Though they were most dangerous when that love spiraled out of control…
“Oh, looks like they’re leavileavi
“Huh?”
Looking back at Mahiro’s words, I saw Yuito and his companion standing up and heading our way. He seemed to be in disguise again. We were near the register, so we lowered our faces to avoid being spotted as the two passed by.
“…Are they gone?”
“Yes, they’re gone. Now, shall we go too?”
After the two finished paying and left the store, we also finished our payment and followed them out.
“Well, it seems their secret meeting is over.”
Since Yuito and his companion were in a conspicuous spot at the center of the mall, we were watching from behind a pillar.
As Mahiro had said, there was an atmosphere of conclusion, with Yuito waving his hand and the woman with him bowing… then they parted ways.
“I thought they’d spend the whole da—I mean, nothing. I thought they’d spend more time together, but they’re breaking up early.”
“But these kinds of short secret meetings tend to be held regularly. We need to stay vigilant…”
Wait, did that mean I’d be called out every time there was a secret meeting?
“Don’t worry, Kasajima-kun. I won’t call you again.”
“Ah, I see…”
My concern must have shown on my face for Mahiro to say that. Thank goodness. If I were borrowed every time, my heart wouldn’t be able to handle Mahiro’s reactions…
“Then I guess we’ll go our separate ways now too. Phew, I’m tired…”
“Yes. Thank you for accompanying me, Kasajima-kun. I appreciate it.”
“No problem. See you, Mahiro-san. Take it easy.”
With a veiled plea for her not to go into yandere rampage mode, we parted ways.
“In the end, I couldn’t figure out who that woman with Yuito was. Well, it’s none of my business who Yuito hangs out with anyway.”
If Yuito had made a female friend, that was something to be happy about.
While Yuji thought this as he walked with his hands in his pockets, Mahiro touched her lips and murmured with certainty,
“The person with Yuito was… probably Hibari-san. Hmm, so even she is getting deeply involved with us…”

“Now, let me get back to my original swimsuit shopping agenda.”
Looking at the mall’s map, I arrived in front of a store that sold swimwear. The mannequins displayed outside were all wearing the latest trendy swimsuits and foolproof coordinated outfits.
Since most customers shopping for swimwear were women, I quickly made my way to the men’s section while averting my eyes from the women’s area.
“There are quite a variety of board shorts here.”
There were solid colors and patterned ones. They even had leggings to wear under the board shorts. Seeing all these products made my decision even harder…
“How about this one?”
“Ah, tight swimming briefs… Those aren’t really my style—Whoa, Hibari!?”
When I turned around thinking it was a store clerk, it was Hibari in her maid uniform.
“Why are you wearing a maid uniform anyway? It’s already summer. Aren’t you hot?”
Hibari was wearing her usual long-sleeved maid uniform. That must be hot to wear in summer. Didn’t they have short-sleeved maid uniforms?
“Because I am Yuji-sama’s maid.”
“Ah, yes, I already know that… But why are you here? Didn’t you have some business to attend to, Hibari?”
“Yuji-sama. I apologize, but I have some business tomorrow, so I cannot provide transportation.”
She had said this yesterday morning.
“My business is now finished.”
“Oh, is that so?”
“Yes. After finishing, I happened to see Yuji-sama.”
Hmm, so coincidences did happen.
“Are you having trouble deciding on a swimsuit?”
“Yeah. Seeing them in person makes it even harder to choose… hmm.”
If someone like me had trouble choosing just a pair of swim shorts, it must be even more difficult for girls. After all, unlike men who could basically get by with just bottom wear, girls needed top and bottom swimwear plus something else.
“By the way, do you have a swimsuit, Hibari?”
“Yes, I do.”
Hmm, as expected of Hibari.
“Well, I don’t think I’ll be able to decide if I keep agonizing over this… Maybe I’ll have Hibari choose for me.”
“Me?”
“I feel like having you choose would be better. Oh, but no tight swimming briefs, okay? Please pick from these board shorts!”
“Understood. Then this one.”
“That was fast!? Oh, this one…”
What Hibari selected without hesitation was a pair of board shorts with a gray base decorated with cute shark illustrations.
“I thought this swimsuit would suit Yuji-sama.”
“Indeed, the color scheme and the shark pattern are nice without being too childish. I’ll take this one. Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.”
“I’ll go pay now.”
I made sure to bring money in my wallet…
Tugs.
“Hmm… Hibari?”
I was about to head to the register when I felt a gentle pull from behind. Looking back, I saw Hibari modestly gripping my shirt.
“What’s wrong, Hibari? Is there another good swimsuit?”
“I’ll go to the register with you.”
I was about to say she could wait outside, but somehow I felt it would be better not to say that…
“Let’s go together then.”
That’s how I responded.
“By the way, Yuji-sama.”
“Hmm?”
“It’s fine to enjoy your summer vacation, but please don’t forget about your homework.”
“Ah, yes. I’ll do it according to plan…”
