- Chapter 54: A Villain Created Another Villain... Aha!!!
“Haah…”
Someone entered the restroom. “This time for sure,” it should be that handsome guy…
“So Mahiro-san has a boyfriend…”
This calm voice, this statement… undoubtedly the handsome guy from earlier, Saionji Rento.
“…Finally, he’s here.”
I was getting tired of waiting…
There were three toilet stalls, and I had been sitting in one of them the whole time. At one point, an older man had rushed in saying, “I’m gonna leak, I’m gonna leak…!!” and banged on all three stall doors with tremendous force, but… I hoped he made it okay? It got quiet after a while, so I prayed he’d made it in time.
“I can’t do it. I can’t give up…”
Oh, so he couldn’t give up… Because he couldn’t give up, he was resorting to such forceful measures…
“Even though I know I’m troubling Mahiro-san and Yuito… still, I can’t give up… Sumino Mahiro-san. She’s the first person I’ve ever fallen in love with.”
…Huh? Hmm? …This was different from what I’d expected. I thought he’d be more like, “If she has a boyfriend, I’ll just steal her away… kukuku…” or that kind of sleazy thinking…
“Damn it!”
Oh, here it comes…?
“I’m the worst kind of man. I should choose what makes the person I love happy… but the more I talk to her, the more I fall in love with her!”
Was he this kind of guy…? I tried to remember the game. He was supposed to be a villain… But from what I was hearing now, he seemed like a good guy, so why did he change into such a villain…
…Huh? Change into such a villain?
The one who changed him was…
“Yo, handsome. What are you worrying about?”
“The girl you like has a boyfriend? Can’t give up? Hahaha. So that’s what you’re worried about. That’s easy to solve. Just—steal her away.”
It was Kasajima Yuji who’d made him a villain!! He was trying to use Rento’s feelings for Mahiro to steal the beautiful sisters from Yuito!!
“Ah… I should get back soon, it’s not fair to the two waiting for me… Sigh, I better head back.”
A few seconds after the door closed, I slowly came out of the stall. I washed my hands thoroughly and left the restroom.
Kasajima Yuji had turned Saionji Rento into a villain in the game… A villain had created another villain…
That villain Kasajima Yuji was now me. I absolutely would not teach him sleazy things or turn Saionji into a villain.
Which meant…
“Hmm, welcome back. For someone who went off looking all cool, you spent quite a long time in the bathroom. So, how was it?”
“…”
“Huh, why that serious face? Was he that much of a terrible jerk?”
“No…”
Rather, he seemed like a protagonist struggling with a forbidden love.
“W-well… let’s just wait and see…”
“Hmm.”
Riina looked at me with suspicious eyes.
That’s right, wait and see… There was still a possibility he could turn into a villain later.
“Don’t try to solve everything by yourself again.”
“Huh?”
When I looked up, Riina was staring at me with a surprisingly serious expression.
“This time it involves my sister and Yui-kun… people important to me, so I’ll help too.”
“Uh, ah…”
“I can’t always rely on just Kasajima.”
Being told with such a serious expression… It was troubling! Very troubling!!
“…This is going to be tough.”
“Do you think so too, Kasajima-kun?”
“Huh? Oh, y-yeah…”
I meant it as a mumble to myself, but Mahiro had heard me.
We left the family restaurant and were now strolling through the shopping district. It seemed it would take more time to make Saionji give up.
“Rento-kun seemed like a nice person though…”
“Yui-kun is so pure he believes people right away, but those kind types often turn dangerous later.”
“Really? Hmm… that’s complicated.”
It really was complicated…
If he were thinking about stealing her or other dangerous things, then me stepping in to stop it would be helping people. However, if he was struggling with his feelings, then me stepping in as an uninvolved party would just make me… an interfering nuisance.
Just having feelings of love wasn’t a crime… In Saionji’s current state, it was probably better if I didn’t get involved. I think making Yuito pretend to be her boyfriend was a good decision, but in the end, Mahiro-san needed to handle this herself…
“Yuji-sama. If you keep furrowing your brow like that, your already scary face will become even scarier.”
“Shut up, Hibari. My face is scary no matter what I do, so it doesn’t matter.”
“Why are you giving up like that?”
“What else can I do? …Huh? Whaaaat!? Hibari!? W-why are you here?”
“You just noticed now?”
I ended up conversing naturally, but for some reason, Hibari had been following behind me.
“I happened to come this way as well.”
“Happened to be in the shopping district… What a coincidence.”
“Hello, Hibari-san!”
“Ah, Kasajima-kun’s maid. Thank you for providing a place for our study session.”
“H-hello. So you wear your maid uniform even when going out?”
“I am Yuji-sama’s maid, after all.”
“Kasajima, I didn’t know you had such tastes…”
“That’s not it! I keep telling her she can wear casual clothes when going out!”
Even so, Hibari still wore her maid uniform, so it was not due to my preference… though I did think beautiful maids were really nice.
“Everyone.”
Hibari stopped walking and called out to us.
“Since we’re here, I’ll escort you all home.”
