- Chapter 26: The Villain Is Off To The Forest School Trip
I finally woke up on the morning of the forest school trip.
“You’re up quite early today.”
“Yeah, I am.”
Hibari visited my room. I think she came to wake me, but today I was the one who woke up earlier. I had even already changed into my uniform.
“You must be looking forward to the forest school trip.”
“Yeah.”
“Finally escaping your loner status.”
“That’s right.”
“Take care.”
“Will do.”
“…”
“…”
Our conversation wasn’t flowing much today. Hibari seemed to feel the same way, appearing to want to say something but hesitating.
After a few seconds of silence between us.
“…Are you leaving now?”
“Yeah. Better to leave with time to spare than rush at the last minute.”
I placed my Boston bag on the bed and spread its contents on the sheet to do a final check of my belongings. Hibari just stood behind me, watching.
…It felt strange for both me and Hibari to be so quiet.
With that thought, I finished checking, packed everything back into my Boston bag, and hung it over my shoulder.
“Well, I’m off. Could you drive me there?”
“Yes.”
Hmm… this conversation really was more subdued than usual. Though usually it was unexpectedly rowdy.
“Will you be okay by yourself, Hibari?”
“Yes. I’ve always been alone until now…”
“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t say such lonely things! Geez… we’ll go somewhere when I come back.”
“Yes.”
“I’m going to enjoy the forest trip, so you do whatever you like while I’m gone.”
“There’s not much I like to do alone, but please don’t go overboard, Yuji-sama.”
“Understood.”
“Especially…”
“Especially?”
Curious about what she would say next, I looked at her. Hibari seemed like she wanted to tell me something… but then closed her mouth.
“Hibari?”
“It’s nothing. Please enjoy the trip.”
I arrived at the assembly point, the school grounds. Having come a bit early, there weren’t many students around yet. Given the early hour, most of the students present were quiet.
It was so quiet I might fall asleep…
As the meeting time approached, more students began to arrive.
“Good morning… Yuji-kun…”
“Morning, Yuito. You look sleepy.”
“Yeah…”
Rubbing his sleepy eyes, Yuito slowly made his way over to me. Usually he would run up energetically, but his energy was understandably low right now. He really did look tired.
“Didn’t you sleep well?”
“Mm… I might not have slept properly because I was excited about the school trip… hehe…”
I felt my heart skip a beat at Yuito’s drowsy smile, but… anyone would probably have the same reaction.
It was definitely not because…
“Until you confirm the wee-wee, they’re a girl.”
…I was not strangely conscious of Hibari’s mysterious statement.
“Yuji-kun?”
“Hey, Yuito. You’re…”
“?”
“A boy, right?”
“I’m a boy, yes?”
Right, of course. If he said so himself, there was no doubt about it.
“R-right! Sorry for asking something weird.”
“No worries. Did you perhaps have a dream where I was a girl?”
“S-something like that.”
In reality, it was just my maid who was doubting that Yuito was a boy.
“Ahaha, what a strange dream~”
Yuito laughed cheerfully, but his heroine energy was so strong that it wouldn’t be strange to mistake him for a girl…
But still, it was good that he was smiling. If I ever clouded that smile or made him cry… the beautiful sisters would probably pin me down and beat me to a pulp…!!
After a brief explanation from the head teacher, we boarded the bus. I sat in a two-person seat near the back. I took the window seat. Beside me, of course…
“Yuji-kun. Is it okay if I… sleep?”
“Sure. Actually, your eyes are barely open already. I’ll wake you when we reach the service area where we’ll take a break.”
“Mm… thanks… snore…”
As soon as his eyelids closed, Yuito fell asleep, breathing softly.
Once everyone had boarded, the bus began to move.
“I hope I can properly enjoy the forest school…”
I pray I didn’t get caught up in any strange situations because of my intimidating face and bad reputation…
While thinking this and vaguely gazing at my own reflection in the window—

A barrage of rapid-fire photos. I poked my head out with an exasperated look.
“…Mahiro-san. You’re free to take pictures of Yuito… actually, no, you’re not. At least turn off the shutter sound…”
“Ah, I forgot about that.”
“Sis, you’re noisy… yawn…”
Across the aisle, of course, sat the beautiful sisters.
