- Chapter 80- Confession [The End]
It has been some months since that day when Ichinoss introduced his girlfriends to each other and the drama rolled out.
Although that day went a little chaotic, thanks to the distinctive personalities of the three, some improvements could be seen in recent days.
Ichinose finally stabilized his relationship and also introduced his lovers to his parents.
All in all, his life was smooth sailing as of now. But surely, some unexpected situation arises and every time Ichinose seeks the help of only a single person on whom he can rely and trust blindly.
Riku’s relationship with Yui has been going well…to the point that sometimes he fears that something might happen and disturb the tranquility he has found with Yui.
However, thankfully none of his fears came true and their life has been moving in the best possible manner.
Thanks to the transparency in their relationship no sort of misunderstanding occurs. If one of them feels dissatisfied by the other one’s action or doesn’t want the other one to associate with some specific people then neither of them holds it in. Well, it has been mostly Yui who tells Riku about her dislike of any female who gets close to him. And being a devoted boyfriend, he always distances himself from those people who upset his girlfriend.
Riku was thankful and relieved that Yui didn’t hold back her emotions any longer and spoke her mind without reservation. Although it took some time, Riku completely forbade her from harming those who tried to come close to him.
Although they banter once in a while, being so addicted to each other, neither of them could keep themselves away from each other for long.
A well-balanced relationship they have formed in these past six months.
And both Yui and Riku were happy and satisfied with how things were right now.

“Although it’s me who is graduating, Yui seems to be much more happy?” It was late at night around nine when Yui requested Riku for a walk around the society a little.
Riku was finally graduating from high school tomorrow and his journey academically would officially end as a school student. He has already applied for a distance diploma in literature, as such, he wouldn’t need to regularly visit the university either. Now, he will get very much more time than before to focus on his career.
“I mean, now Riku-kun can spend more time with me. We can go on overnight trips. We can do so many things now.”
“….you still have school Yui.”
“Mou~that doesn’t matter. I will handle my attendance. ” Yui pouted at that, having all the romance slayed by her lover.
Riku chuckled as he held her hand with their fingers interlaced. The intimacy of holding her hand makes his heart skip a beat every time but he keeps it to himself.
Can’t let her tease him about it.
Their walk continued with short strides, as Yui asked something casually,
“So Riku-kun, what do you plan on doing after graduation? Like the major ones?”
Although Yui did her best to hide it, Riku somehow could feel the building anticipation in her voice and the expectations she carried.
With a smile, he looked at the stars twinkling in the sky and responded, “Majorly focus on my novels and try writing one seriously this time which I will post online and see how it goes. Since you guys said I write decently well, I am trusting your reviews and giving it a shot right away after graduation.”
“Mm-hmm. That’s right; you are already better than many of those authors whose books I have.” Yui responded honestly.
Ichinose and Miu also had a similar reaction. Especially Miu, who is a massive book collector. Thanks to their encouragement Riku finally decided to make his stories; public.
After a pause, he continued, “Since I will get more time, I have decided to learn to cook properly by either joining classes or online so I can prepare homemade cooked for Mom. ”
His mother has been as busy as ever. She barely returns home these days and whenever she returns, due to some uncertain reasons, she has to eat packaged food. That’s why Riku decided to learn more dishes that would be nutritionally balanced and flavorful.
For some reason, hearing that he would do the cooking all by himself made Yui a little sad but she didn’t say anything nor allowed her expression to shift.
Riku continued to count the things he wanted to do like focusing on bodybuilding and learning some martial arts. Then he said he wanted to finish many movies and series as well which he was postponing to watch because of the final exams.
Most of the things he said concerned mostly ‘him’ and Yui was happy about it since the way Riku had spent his high school life, she wanted him to have a fresh and new start.
She wanted him to get over his trauma and stop helping her brother’s love life now…
….however, despite how much she smiled at his words and encouraged him to take those steps for a better future, she could feel a void in her heart.
Riku noticed the shift in her mood but he didn’t say anything about it, rather, without letting her realize he had led her to a specific shrine that was far from his home and close to hers.
“You remember this place, Yui?”
Yui suddenly looked around herself, only to realize where they were.
“…I do. How can I forget our little escape spot, Riku-kun?”
A faint smile adorned her beautiful face and a look of nostalgia flashed in those eyes as she looked at the praying platform where she used to sit most of the time when she came here alone.
In the past, whenever Yui had a bad mood or fought with her parents, she used to come to this place and stay for hours to cool herself down.
Once she reached middle school and got to know Riku, he also came to find her whenever she ran away from the house.
“We have many memories centered around this place. And one of those memories is the reason why I fell for Riku-kun.”
Riku softly smiled at her as they stood on the praying platform and looked into each other’s eyes.
Holding her both hands, Riku said, “I wanted to do this more romantically and in a bit filmy manner, but please bear with it. ”
Yui blinked in confusion hearing his words, but soon her perplexion turned into surprise as Riku let go of her hands planted his left knee on the ground, and rested his right arm on his other knee.
Her heart began to shake violently as it was no genius to understand what he was going to do.
Her mind went chaotic, and her body trembled in excitement, however, none of those could stop her from listening to what her lover had to say.
“I know we have gone through a lot of phases. I know I have made many mistakes and so you have. I know I may not be the perfect man for you nor can I say that I am the best you could have ever found.”
Holding her right hand he continued, “However, it’s a fact Yui, no one can love you more than me. I have never felt so attracted to anyone before. I never felt the need for someone as much in my life as I feel about you. It’s just…I can’t live without you.”
Riku wanted to curse himself since he forgot most of the lines he had memorized. However, looking at those moistened eyes and that beautiful smile currently adorning her face, he knew he had conveyed his feelings.
Taking a deep breath, Riku inserted his free hand inside his pocket before taking out a red velvet box.
Lifting the lid which exposed a thin and beautiful ring, he hesitantly extended it toward her before asking,
“I know this is sudden but I just can’t hold it anymore.”
Looking into her eyes and not anywhere else, Riku felt his heartbeat elevating drastically before some words that he could not say to anyone but to her, escaped his lips,
“Will you marry me, Yui?”
All those emotions she was feeling until now, went tranquil as she heard his proposal.
She wanted to jump. She wanted to run around and shout out how happy she was at the moment. However, all she did in that moment was to shed some tears of joy and softly nod.
“Yes….yes I will….please make me yours, Riku!”
Riku was tackled on the ground as Yui jumped on him.
He embraced the girl whom he tried his best to not fall for, once. The girl who has given his life, meaning and supported him at those times when Riku found himself alone. The only girl whom he ever allowed himself to love. And the girl, who would become his wife.
Riku now belongs to Yui. And Yui would always be Riku’s.
