- Chapter 79- Helping Ichinose
“Seriously….what are you guys doing?” Riku couldn’t help sighing witnessing Ichinose currently being pulled from either side while Miho, Yui, and Riku sat on the other side of the table.
On either side of Ichinose sat the long raven-haired beauty, Kuriyama Mizuo. And on the other side was the blond beauty with beautiful blue eyes, Akechi Miu.
The glares they were directing at each other were anything but friendly. Meanwhile, the person in between seemed to have resigned to his fate as he sat there wordlessly.
“Tell this big-brained to keep her paws off Ichi-kun.” Miu hissed.
In response to that, Mizuo just glared at Riku—telepathically telling him to do something about Miu.
Riku sighed before turning his head towards Miho. Unlike the other two she seemed to be the calmest one, however, the way she was clenching her fist under the table signified her current mood.
‘Each one of them isn’t prepared for this…’
Riku collected his thoughts before calling out, “The two of you, if you want to continue your relationship with Ichinose then first stop pulling him. Since you guys haven’t met Ichinose’s mother, let me tell you this…”
With his face turning dead serious he concluded, “She hates impulsive and immature girls.”
The three girls had a similar reaction. They widened their eyes and looked toward Yui—who was sipping on tea.
“It’s true. Mom hates those girls who act first and think later.”
At the same time, Mizuo and Miu abandoned Ichinose’s arm and improved their sitting postures.
Ichinose heaved a long sigh of relief as he thanked Riku and Yui with a nod and fixed his clothes.
Riku glanced at Miho and found she was now fidgeting in nervousness at her place.
‘That’s more like her…’ Riku inwardly chuckled before directing his gaze to the front.
“I know it is not easy to accept the other partners of the boy you love but did Ichi hide the fact that he is dating multiple girls?”
Riku roamed his eyes over Miu then Mizuo and finally halted it on Miho. All three of them didn’t respond—which was enough for a response.
“Did Ichi ever force any of you to remain in this relationship?” Riku asked again, only to get another round of silence in response.
Riku slumped in his seat before asking, “Then why do you guys are fighting like this?”
“You need to ask that to this Mizuo! She just acts however she wants and behaves like everyone is in her debt or something.” Miu complained while glaring at Mizuo with a side glance.
Mizuo didn’t reply to that and retained her demeanor.
A mocking smile formed on Riku’s lips as he said, “Kuriyama-san can’t be honest with her feelings that’s why she acts like that. I wonder who has similar traits as her in this room.”
Miu’s eyes widened at that, as she stared at Riku with an expression that said, ‘You traitor!’
However, before she could shout at Riku, Yui stepped in, “More than complaining about each other, why don’t you all just focus on my brother? I mean for me, when I focus on Riku-kun everything else just vanishes.”
“Y-Yui…” Riku felt embarrassed hearing that, more so when Yui directed a soft smile in his direction mid-sentence.
*Thump*
“Yui! I won’t give my blessings to this relationship!” Suddenly Ichinose slammed his hand on the table and showed his displeasure.
“Doesn’t matter. I already belong to Riku-kun!” Yui fought back.
“Guys…why we are having this conversation again?” Riku thought Ichinose had already hoisted a green flag to this relationship.
“Ignore him, Riku-kun. I just refused to taste his handmade cookies last night, that’s why he is throwing a tantrum now.” Yui snuggled close to him and rested her head on his shoulder, tiredly.
“Anno—if you want then I can taste your desserts, Ichinose-kun!” A determined Miho chimed.
Miu panicked as she also added, “Even though I don’t prefer sweet things, if it’s you then I can go against my diet chart.”
“No need to force yourself, Miu. Ichinose, I will have all your sweets and will give you an honest review.” Mizuo commented—much to Miu’s agitation.
“You guys….you all are so sweet…” Ichinose sobbed before glaring at Riku and Yui as he said, “…unlike those two ungrateful creatures.”
“Hey! Who are you calling ‘creatures’?!” Yui glared at her brother.
“You didn’t bring your mirror along, dear sister? Should I ask the waiter for one?” Ichinose scoffed.
The banter between the four continued. Yui and Ichinose were quarreling like kids while Mizuo and Miu were arguing like neighborhood aunties. Miho was trying to get involved but was failing miserably.
Sensing the growing noise and the never-ending banter, Riku raised his hand high and slammed it on the table enough to make everyone silent.
A tremble passed everyone’s spine witnessing the silent anger Riku carried in his eyes before, with a smiling face, he said, “We are not at home, so please mind your behavior and act according to your age.”
This wasn’t a suggestion, everyone could discern. This was a warning.
“”Hai…”” Everyone responded at the same time.
Riku heaved a sigh before slouching back in his seat.
Yui, hesitantly drew close to her lover before whispering, “I am sorry…”
Seeing those pitiful eyes and that innocent voice, all the anger dissipated in an instant.
Riku held her hand fondly before responding, “It’s okay.”
Turning his attention toward the front Riku said, “Now let’s get back to the matter of concern.”
Focusing on Ichinose, he asked, “Ichi, what have you thought about all this? How are you gonna make them get along with each other?”
“Eh?” Ichinose let out a strange sound since he thought, things like this should be discussed when they were alone.
However, seeing the stern gaze which Riku carried, Ichinose didn’t have any choice but to relay his thoughts,
“Although it was sudden, I never once regretted my decision to date the three of you.”
The atmosphere of the room relaxed a lot as Ichinose uttered those words while looking at no one particularly.
“I knew it would be problematic and very difficult for you three to accept each other and share me as your lover, but still, I want you all to get along.”
“I will love you three equally and will do my best to fulfill any demand you may have…however, in return I just want you to not hurt each other. You can vent your anger on me as much as you want but please….don’t do anything to each other.”
Ichinose glanced at the three as he relayed a genuine plea.
Riku crossed his arms and leaned back. Now, this was going in the best way possible.

A/N: The next chapter is most probably the final chapter of the main story. I will write after-stories about their married life as well.
Thank you for being a part of this eventful journey.
