The time when I forcibly slept with my friend's sister! - Chapter 77- Be yourself

The place where Riku and Yui went after that small incident near the station was an aquarium.

Riku has visited an aquarium only twice before and Yui also seemed to like peaceful and silent places.

Although Riku wanted this date to go in perfect order without spoiling Yui’s mood…he seemed to have failed even before the date began. Thanks to the duo who showed up out of nowhere.

As a result, not many words traveled between them while they rode the train and reached their destination.

Riku was naturally feeling guilty for making her upset once again even though he promised to never make her sad again.

“Tickets for two.” Handing the money to the ticket counter staff, Riku glanced at Yui. She was looking around the place with her arms crossed behind her back.

‘I didn’t even compliment her dress….ugh, just kill me already…’

Yui was looking really beautiful and a little mature today. She has a brown leather jacket with a white shirt underneath. A black skin-tight jeans with boots of the same shade as the jacket. Her hair was tied in a ponytail, drawing his eyes in her direction every now and then.

Not only him but there were many girls around who were directing an admiring look at the cool Yui today.

“Here you go.” The ticket counter staff handed two tickets to Riku before he walked up to Yui.

For a moment he felt nervous calling out to her, but when his eyes went toward the group of girls in a corner, even taking some pictures of Yui, he felt something snapping inside him.

“Yui, let’s go.”

“Ah…” Yui was surprised to have her arm held by Riku as she thoughtlessly nodded and followed his lead.

Riku turned to look over his shoulder at that particular group, with the thought of glaring at them…however, as soon as he saw those awe-filled eyes and the way they were gushing while looking at them, Riku lost his motivation.

‘Forget it…’ Deciding to not mind others, Riku led his girlfriend inside after passing through a security checkup.

The inside of the aquarium was built like a tunnel structure. These tunnels were transparent, and thus, allowed the visitors to enjoy the marine life everywhere around them. It felt like they were traveling in an underwater tunnel.

The vibrant illumination of the aqua brightened Yui’s face. It felt like she was surrounded by an ethereal glow.

Riku found himself dazed looking at her…to the point…

“Oh sorry.”

“It’s alright.”

….he crashed into someone.

“Riku-kun, are you alright?” Yui asked in a worried tone as they passed by the girl, Riku just stumbled into.

It was strange. He had heard her voice not more than half an hour ago, on the train…yet, when she called him right now, a sense of relief and elation welled in his chest.

Yui was surprised to see that bright smile suddenly lifting the edges of his lips as Riku vigorously nodded.

“I am fine. Thank you for asking.” This sudden politeness coupled with his cheerful voice made her baffled, but she didn’t comment on that.

Their journey soon came to a halt as Riku and Yui stopped at a random spot in the tunnel to look at the cluster of fish traveling around.

The passage was wide enough to not make it troublesome for others.

For some reason, the previous tension Riku was experiencing, was no longer there. Was it because he just heard her voice? No…it was because he is an idiot who realizes things a little late and reacts to them after things reach an extreme point.

Deciding to not be a coward, Riku turned toward her and said,

“I am so-”

“I am sorry, Riku-kun.” Faster than his words, she turned toward him and bowed her head in an apology. The way her balled fist was trembling, signified how nervous she was.

It took a moment for Riku to react, as he spoke in a panic,

“Wha….I mean, why Yui? Shouldn’t it be who needs to say sorry?”

“But…it was my fault to overreact to something on which Riku-kun had no control.” Lifting her head, her tear-stained eyes looked at him before she confessed,

“This is something I couldn’t restrain, Riku-kun…whenever I see another person getting too close to you I just react to my instincts. Even though I decided to become a little more mature and behave in a more dignified way…I just have to mess things up again.”

Hearing her confession, Riku sighed. However, he was not relieved or happy that the situation was finally resolved.

He was…a little frustrated.

“Yui, why do you need to act mature and change yourself? Is it because of what happened between us last time?”

Riku didn’t need to verbalize, what incident he was talking about. There was only one incident that left a very great impact on their relationship and possibly brought them closer than before.

Yui ducked her head in shame before she nodded.

Riku’s shoulder slumped. He was annoyed, but not because of her but himself.

Cupping her cheeks with his hands, Riku made her look his way before he spoke,

“What made me mad last time was the fact that you lied to me. That you trapped me in doing something which you know, I would feel guilty about. However, I never denied or felt repulsed about your obsession with me. If anything, I feel blessed that such a cute and caring girl is so in love with me.”

Yui’s eyes were already stretched to the limits as all her shame was now morphed into shock as she heard those words.

Riku brought his hand on her shoulders since he wasn’t finished yet.

With sincerity filling his eyes, Riku expressed his honest thoughts,

“Yui, I will tell you this once, so listen carefully.”

Taking a deep breath and drawing his face closer he whispered, “I love the way you are, Yui. Just be yourself and tell me whatever you feel truthfully. ”

The pair looked at each other in silence. No words were spoken after that. There was no requirement to say anything.

Yui understood what he wanted to convey. Her real self…the crazy side of hers. That side which she found extreme and felt her lover might get disgusted with…was actually acceptable.

Yui can be…herself.

“Senpai…!” A sudden rush of elation welled up as she suddenly jumped in his arms with her face pressed against his chest.

Riku wasn’t surprised to hear her calling him ‘senpai’ again. He has noticed how she always strains herself to call his name. He didn’t focus on that and first wrapped his arms around the girl.

Now, he felt relaxed.

The duo wasn’t concerned with the prying eyes of the passerby as they stood in silence while enjoying each other’s warmth.

Amidst the silence, Riku remembered something he forgot to tell her before,

“You are looking extremely beautiful today. I was tempted to propose to you again at the station.”

Yui giggled before responding, “I would have loved that, you know…”

“Mm, I know.”
