- Chapter 63- The truth that hurts~1!
[8.20 PM]
Yui has already called her Senpai thrice by now, even though it hasn’t been two hours since they separated.
After the proposal, she was just getting a little too excited to remain away from her Senpai. She ventured through her computer folders and looked at the album where her Senpai’s pictures were stacked.
She just couldn’t get enough of him.
‘Hmm…must be busy.’ Remembering how her Senpai had loads of schoolwork pending, Yui decided to not disturb him anymore and after a quick message, she went to prepare dinner.
Me: [I like the flowers. It reminds me of you ( ꈍᴗꈍ)]

[9.35 PM]
Yui didn’t have an appetite so she only had soup for dinner and after chatting with her brother for some time, she retired to her room and instantly checked her phone; which was attached to a charger.
Yui was expecting some kind of message from her Senpai, or maybe a call, that’s why she took several long breaths in anticipation with a sweet smile never leaving her face.
However,
[No new messages]
The messages log was empty and no missed calls were there. Yui rechecked whether her internet was working, but it turned out fine. Even the message she sent to her Senpai, was successfully sent…but he hasn’t seen the message yet.
‘Is he that busy…’ Yui knew that her Senpai had a lot of things to sort out and since he was in his third year, the importance of keeping everything updated had risen exponentially.
But still…
‘…maybe he is having dinner with his mom?’ This was also possible since whenever Mizuki is at home, Riku leaves everything behind and had a peaceful dinner while chatting with her.
Yui admired that side of her Senpai always…
…however, right now, Yui felt a little jealous that someone else was getting his utmost attention when she was seeking him so much.
‘Reply to me, Senpai…’ In the end, she didn’t call and sent another text,
Me: [Have you decided, what you will be wearing tomorrow? Let’s wear something matching (◍•ᴗ•◍).]

[11.25 PM]
‘This is suspicious…’ Inside her room, Yui could be seen pacing back and forth, with her phone tightly clutched in her hand, and the illumination from the phone screen, reflecting her anxious visage.
Her Senpai hasn’t seen any of her texts—which already exceed twenty—and her calls were all going through, but not connecting.
‘What could have happened? Did he not like my response? Or was I smelling bad? Maybe I did something to offend him?’ All sorts of thoughts were going through her mind but her eyes never left her mobile screen, in hopes of seeing that long-awaited message pop up.
This has never happened in the past when Riku would have not answered any of her calls or texts, how troubled or extreme his situation remained.
She remembered, how one time, when he traveled to a remote location and Yui wanted to talk to him, her Senpai walked five kilometers away from there so his phone could receive a proper signal.
Whether he was sick or upset, her Senpai never refused to talk to her…and today, when it was such a big day for both of them…he suddenly disappeared.
Me:[ I really hope everything is fine, Senpai. Please call me as soon as you can.]

[12.31 AM]
‘This is serious…’ Yui could no longer hold herself as she left her room in a hurry.
She has already called her Senpai over fifty times and eighty-four texts, which remained unread. Her patience was lost when she called Riku’s mom and found that her Senpai hadn’t come down for dinner as well.
As she marched down the stairs, she began searching for the number of her family drivers. She needed to see her Senpai…and it should happen right now!
“Yui?! Where are you going?”
Yui suddenly was held by her shoulder by Ichinose as he saw Yui fanatically wearing her shoes and approaching the entrance.
“Senpai…h-he isn’t responding to my calls…a-and…he even refused to eat dinner tonight. I have a bad feeling. Need to see him.” Her eyes were speaking a lot more than her words as she hastily moved her hands and dictated the reason for her concern.
“Relax, alright? Calm down, I will call him.” It would be a lie to say that Ichinose wasn’t surprised to hear how Riku wasn’t responding to any of her calls and even skipped dinner with his mother.
However, as soon he pulled up his phone and clicked on the call log….he instantly knew the reason for Riku’s unnatural behavior.
Yui frowned slightly as she saw her brother’s agape expression before she took a peek at his phone…only to find her eyes widening.
“Nii-san?!” Yui plopped down her place with her palm covering her face and streams of tears sliding down her cheeks.
The last call Ichinose did to Riku lasted for an hour and ten minutes….which meant, that the conversation Ichinose had with Yui, about that night and all, was heard by Riku.
This was the last thing she wanted to happen! This was the worst way for her Senpai to know all the truth!
“Yui…don’t…ah!” Suddenly an idea emerged in his head as Ichinose called Riku’s mother.
Since there was no benefit to crying over spilled milk, Ichinose decided to rather try reaching out to his friend.
[Hello? Everything alright, Ichi?]
Hearing Mizuki’s voice, Ichinose heaved a sigh. At least she picked up the phone.
“Ah, Mizuki-san…can you give your phone to Riku? His phone is unreachable and there is something urgent I need to talk to him about.”
Ichinose waited patiently as the sound of covers ruffling was heard from the other side, as the woman responded,
[Sure…in fact, I was hoping that you or Yui talk to him. For some reason, he hasn’t left his room since I arrived, at all.]
Hearing those words, only elevated his worries but Ichinose didn’t comment on that.
Her footsteps rang from the other side and after some seconds, the sound of knocking on the door could be heard,
[…here, Ichinose wants to talk to you.]
Ichinose’s face lit up as he heard a familiar voice from the other side, however, before he could say anything, the phone was pulled away from him.
“Hello, Senpai?!”
