Tsukasa Raeji is the current owner of the TnE group of companies and the chairman who has been leading the company toward greater heights for some years now.

He inherited a small toy-making factory from his mother and after that, he made various decisions in his life that could be considered risky to the point of being foolish. However, Raeji always believed in his skills of standing back after a fall and always had a plan B so he never wavered from taking bold decisions.

Since he married his secretary he was provided with a trustworthy partner on whom he could depend and also get assistance.

Both Raeji and Kaori had a dream of turning their company into one of the most prominent industries in Japan and expanding their work internationally and for that, they have always been involved in their work and company.

However, the fact that their work required their attention most of the time, the couple was not able to spend much time with their children.

Raeji and Kaori have promised each other that they would only retire when there is a responsible successor or until they do not fulfill their dreams.

However, because of that, they have been ignoring their children all this time. They had no other option than to rely on babysitters for the upbringing of Yui and Ichinose.

Once in a while Raeji and Kaori called their children for a get-together however, they knew it wasn’t helping much. They needed their parents and Ichinose even expressed his desire for parental support quite many times.

For once, Raeji might decide to just decrease his workload and spend some time with his children but Kaori didn’t allow him to. She always reminded him how their dream held the most importance to them.

About children, then according to her, once they retire from working life, they would have enough time to make it up to them.

However, Raeji had a different opinion, and
because of that, he arrived at the place where he could find his both children.

[Riku’s POV:]

I was…a little tense.

The reason was apparent.

The father of my girlfriend, suddenly arrived at my house out of nowhere and currently was sitting just across from me with a complicated expression.

I have seen him once but it was just a quick glance that’s why witnessing him properly for the first time made me startled, a little.

Despite being probably in his early forties, he didn’t look like he had even crossed his twenties. Shiny black hair was trimmed and combed perfectly according to his facial features. His blue eyes were a darker shade if compared to Yui’s, and held a deep and serious emotion. His posture was straight and his demeanor was quite domineering.

Seriously, if Yui had said that this man was her elder brother then I wouldn’t have been too surprised.

“Yui…are you sure about me staying here?” I couldn’t help whispering to the person sitting beside me, since from any angle I see it, Raeji-san have come here to talk to his children.

However, “You don’t need to be so reserved, Senpai.” Her words, made the older man a little flinch as his gaze remained fixated on me.

I smiled wryly at that, but that smile soon broke as I heard her following words,

“After all, you are also going to become a part of our family, no?”

“!!!” My brows raised in exclamation as I turned my widened eyes toward Yui, who was looking back at me with those innocent eyes of hers, like nothing she said was wrong.

From the corner of my eyes, I could see the bastard friend of mine, who should be saving me right now, chuckling like an idiot.

*Swooosh*

I felt a cold breeze rushing past my skin from a particular direction, before I swallowed a heavy gulp and stiffly turned my head toward the front.

The cold blue eyes of Raeji-san have turned entirely empty as he looked dead in my eyes.

‘…why do you have to make it so complicated, Yui?’

I had a better plan about telling my relationship to her parents but now…*sigh*

“As you heard, Raeji-san, I am dating your daughter. Please give us your blessings.” I bowed my head, but whether it was in anxiety or embarrassment remained unclear.

“Kukuku…”

….was this evil laughter of Ichinose only audible to me? Why wasn’t someone making that dickhead stop laughing at my misery?!

The silence in the living area was fortunately broken, when the older one finally chose to say something,

“Raise your head, Hikari Riku. I have known about Yui’s affection toward you, for a while now so there is no point being courteous now.”

I flinched hearing that yet my head remained tilted.

…Yui liked me since before…?

This was a discovery for me since if her father was saying such a thing, meant Yui had been looking out for me before we even began dating. Yet from my perspective, she was forced to like me after what happened a week or so ago.

“Why do you have to say it, Papa?!”

I immediately lifted my body to look at Yui, who just screamed at her father with a red face.

I turn to look at the older man, already anticipating his displeased look by being yelled at by his daughter, but…

‘Is he smirking? The great CEO of the TnE group of companies is being amused by his daughter’s reaction?’

It was mind-wobbling to register everything happening around me.

“Oh…so you knew all these times, eh? Can’t say I didn’t see that coming.”

Hearing Ichinose words, I tilted my head to look at him, only to find a knowing smile lifting the edges of his lips.

Wait…did he know as well?

“Haha…there were more than enough signs to know where my daughter has lost her heart to. It’s just I am surprised she was able to hold herself until now.”

My head then turned toward Raeji-san who was spilling more beans, much to my shock. I mean, it was surprising to know that this man could talk such casually as well, but the content of his speech was just too perplexing for this unaware me.

I turned my head toward Yui and found her face was completely boiled up and her eyes moistened even a little. It seemed she was being bullied by her father and brother just now.

And maybe to prove my assumption, she stood up with a stomp and yelled before leaving the living room.

“I hate you all!”
