The time when I forcibly slept with my friend's sister! - Chapter 44- Decision?
[Yui’s POV:]
I knew I shouldn’t have peeked inside the room after walking out, but seeing Senpai in such a state made me slightly relaxed.
One might think I am unstable in the head to feel calm upon witnessing the person I love, crying like this, but it was not like that.
I was aware that despite how close I was to Senpai, he wouldn’t allow his real emotions to surface in front of me, due to his fear of making me apprehensive. He has always been like this. Composed, caring, and super cool.
These were among hundreds of qualities that I liked about my Senpai.
Seeing him weeping his grief and fear out in his mother’s arms, I found a sensation of solace spreading in my heart, since despite how he presented himself after the incident, it was inevitable that Senpai would have been shaken up.
Well, I would be lying to say that I didn’t feel a tad bit jealous of Mizuki-san but….somethings are unchangeable. Just like a mother’s importance in her son’s life.
After a brief moment, I turned on my heels and walked back to where my Nii-san was resting. He had a coffee cup in his hand which he got out of nowhere.
“Do they serve everyone like this?” As I remember there were only recyclable paper cups for the visitors to maintain cleanliness and keep things eco-friendly.
However, the mug Nii-san currently held was something one could only find in a cafe or restaurant.
“Ah, a nurse gave it to me. She talked to me and told me that everything would be fine. She even gave me her number just in case I needed help with Riku. Hospital staff are really great here.” Despite the fact he said in such a manner, I was a hundred percent sure, the nurse was after something else.
It was not a rare occurrence for Nii-san to be approached by women but my concern wasn’t on that particular topic in hand.
Snatching the cup from him, I took a tissue paper from his bag and wiped the crown of the cup all around before taking a delightful sip of the caffeine.
Indeed, a coffee one could never find in a hospital.
“I was about to drink it tho…” Putting a blindfold on Nii-san’s whining I took out my phone and saw the missed calls from my friends and Miho-senpai.
Considering how she must have been in shock after seeing the police vans around Senpai’s home, it was given Miho-senpai would panic.
Gulping down the drink in one go, I handed the cup to Nii-san and got up from my seat.
“I will be back in a minute.” Informing my brother who was about to ask where I was off to, I approached the emergency stair exit and tapped on the green icon to call Miho-senpai.
The ring went for twice before the other party picked it up.
[Hello?!Yui? Where are you and…what about Riku? Where is he?! What h-]
“Calm down or I will disconnect the call.”
She calmed down.
After a brief pause, I began explaining everything since the start. About that bitch and how she plotted everything for today…to harm my Senpai. In mid-way, I heard Miho-senpai’s sobbing voice. She was blaming herself for abandoning Senpai today which led to such misfortunes.
Well, not like I didn’t know that feeling so I didn’t complain about her sobs and tried to comfort her as much as I could.
[Which hospital?]
“Central Tokyo Metropolitan Hospital. Don’t rush in here since everything is now under control.”
[Umm…I will be there.]
As the call disconnected I gazed at the screen which shifted from the dialer screen to the home tab…showing the face, set as the wallpaper, which I could never get enough of.
I remember this picture was of that time when Senpai brought a cake on my birthday. I had a fight with my parents which led me to cancel all the plans I and Nii-san had for the day. Nii-san was pretty upset as well since it was the first time Dad shouted at me for being ‘unreasonable’.
Yeah, asking for an hour of their precious time was regarded as such.
We told Senpai that we wouldn’t be going out today and we also skipped school. I spent my whole day at home, cooped up in my room, and Nii-san as always, playing rock music on repeat to erase his negative emotions.
It was a pretty dark day for both of us.
And at such depressing times, someone rang our bell.
I couldn’t even express how I felt the moment I opened the door and saw my Senpai holding a cake wearing a birthday hat on his head and singing the birthday song for me.
He looked so happy and excited when he appeared in front of me that I wasn’t able to hold back my tears and jumped to hug him.
It was the first time I hugged my Senpai.
Remembering all he has done for me, and how his presence always brought a sense of comfort and dependence, I couldn’t help muttering under my breath.
“How lucky I am to have you in my life, Senpai…’
Smiling foolishly while staring at my phone for a good minute, I returned to Nii-san’s side.
…he had another cup of coffee and a sandwich in his hands.
“Oh, hey. Do you want one?” He offered the sandwich.
Shaking my head, I sat beside him with my gaze trained toward the room where Senpai rested.
“Has Mizuki-san walked out?”
“Hmm…no. A senior doctor went in just a moment ago so I checked up on them but it turned out the doctor was here just to meet Mizuki-san. She’s famous after all.”
Well, considering how she has received a medical award for saving several people during a natural disaster and also managing a famous hospital while arranging regular medical camps, it was not surprising for other doctors to know her.
“Who was it? On the phone?” Hearing his question I realized that Miho-senpai doesn’t have Nii-san’s number or she wouldn’t have called me.
“Miho-senpai. She’s coming over.”
“At this hour?” His exclamation was valid since it was already over midnight and traveling so far at night was not safe.
But considering how close not only Senpai and Miho-san were but also their mothers, I guess it was natural for her to react this strongly.
“Don’t worry about that.” Nii-san just hummed in response as he continued eating his food.
A brief silence ensued as the only sound that arrived around us was the voice of hospital staff and the rolling of stretchers here and there.
After another minute of silence, I finally parted my lips and told Nii-san about a decision I had taken some hours ago.
“After Senpai gets discharged…I want to stay together with him.”
****
Possibility:- After Riku steps out of the hospital, he gets flabbergasted seeing Yui wearing a wedding dress, kneeling with a ring in her hand.
Yui: Will you marry me Senpai?
Riku remains frozen at his spot for a moment before collapsing to the ground.
Doctor: Sugar overdose. Take it easy Yui…
