Riku supported Hitmoi to his house while the girl seemed to be in great pain all along the way. Their physical distance was too close to the point Hitomi was allowing herself to lean on him wholly…yet there was no reaction from Riku.

If she didn’t know that Riku was dating Yui, Hitomi might have assumed him to be not interested in girls altogether. Like, he never dated anyone in high school before and mostly spent his time with Ichinose so…

Regardless, she didn’t express her disappointment as they entered the huge mansion-like double-storey house.

“S-Sorry for the intrusion…” Through her labored breathing, Hitomi voiced her greetings only for Riku to inform her, “There’s no one at home today. Forgive me for not telling this before ”

Well, Hiomi knew that, that was why she chose this day to ‘attack’ Riku when both Yui and Riku’s mother would be out of the picture.

Thankfully, that nosy neighbor Miho also wasn’t around today. Everything was going perfectly ~

As they walked inside, Hitomi’s gaze slightly turned toward the cabinet fixed on the right wall which she identified as the breaker panel. She roamed her eyes and found there were no cameras in the entranceway and no base phone either.

Walking through the hallway, Riku led her to the huge living room on the left before allowing her to rest on the couch comfortably.

“T-thank you, Riku-kun…even though I created trouble for you in the morning… ”

She said that but actually didn’t mean it since she wanted to let everyone know how deeply she was in ‘love’ with Riku and gain a spot in his heart. And thanks to that, she was now in his home~

Riku remained silent while still holding on to Hitomi which made her inwardly raise her brows, that maybe he was falling for her now?

But soon those thoughts shattered when Riku smiled at her slightly and said, “Well, I appreciate that you know what you did was wrong…but for now, will you let me go? ”

Hitomi slightly widened her eyes as she realized how stubbornly she was clinging to his arm and making Riku practically immobile.

Well, despite the fact that there was her chance, Hitomi didn’t want to do this half-heartedly or with any risk involved so she immediately let go of him while ducking her head in ’embarrassment’.

“I will prepare a heat pad for you and ask Mom what should I-ah, my phone is dead. Well, I will get you a heat pad and charge it in my room for a bit. Is that okay, Hitomi-san?”

It wasn’t good…it was perfect!

Not only she would get some alone time in the living area to make the necessary arrangements but he wouldn’t be able to call anyone any time soon.

It was so perfect that it sent a shiver down her spine…

“Mm…thank you again, Riku-kun~”

Ah, she should be a little more careful with her tone~

Riku looked at her with a smile before he went toward the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Hitomi checked the living room and found there were no cameras in there. Well, it was natural for people to not install cameras in their houses.

Her gaze then traveled toward the base phone installed near the wall of the kitchen. There was no trace of anyone being in the house other than Riku which made Hitomi all set to proceed.

She just waited patiently on the couch and thankfully Riku arrived soon after with a blue thermal bag in his hand and a tray of what seemed like chocolates and snacks on the other hand.

“I don’t know what you would have liked to eat so I have brought things of each flavor. ” He slowly landed the tray on the table beside the couch before handing the heat pad to Hitomi.

Hitomi showed her best smile, of course, while trying to let her smile get strained because of the pain as Riku told her that he would be gone for some minutes to charge his phone.

Hitomi intently listened to the footsteps distancing before she sprang on her feet in an instant, betraying the facade of the girl who was practically shaking in pain just a moment ago.
There was no silly smile and look of agony on her face and what replaced it was a big grin that could be categorized as sinistrous from any angle one sees her at the moment.

The first thing she did was to take out a small wire cutter from her bag and head toward the base phone.

“And here goes your call for help~” While chirping she cut off the wire of the base phone before skipping her steps and walking toward the table on which the food tray was placed.

She slowly knocked on the woody surface of the table before she heard an uneven knock only to widen her grin even more.

She immediately pushed the surface only for the panel to shift opening and showcasing a red button that many have had at home to blare an alarm and call the police instantly. These kinds of emergency buttons could be placed anywhere in the home yet with the precision Hitomi began her search, it was evident that she was aware of various things in Riku’s house.

Walking up to her bag, she took out a small steel container the size of mosquito repellent but in place of any insect-crossed label there was a different name which read ‘Liquid Nitrogen’.

Hitomi smilingly pulled the cap and began spreading the icy liquid spray all over the red button, rendering it useless.

“And here goes your backup…” The smile she wore currently couldn’t have been any more stretched. After all, her intel and all the research she have done for the past two years didn’t go in vain.

She then went to draw the curtains and lock the main entrance. Fortunately, there was no sign of Riku walking back down.

“Hmmm…all set… ” Satisfied with her hard work, Hitomi went toward the shoe rack and placed it somehow under the electricity panel. Standing over it she opened the cabinet before turning the main mcb switch off.

In an instant, all the lights of the hallway turned off as Hitomi climbed down the shoe rack and skipped her way toward the living room while using her phone light.

She could already hear Riku’s footsteps approaching as with a big happy smile, Hitomi pulled out something out of her bag.

‘Haah~Finally~’

…amidst the darkness, the shine of a broad sharp knife reflected Hitomi’s murderous smile.
