“You look so stiff, Kuriyama-san. Is it that…you are uncomfortable being with me?” Hearing his question, Mizuo’s back straightened before she looked at him wide-eyed and shook her head.

“I-Its not like-… I am just not used to socializing with people… ” Mizuo tried to play it cool, given how she might get perceived as a weirdo in Ichinose’s eyes.

“Is that so? Well, I am glad.” Ichinose’s smile made her heart faster than before as she marveled at the sight of the most perfect man she had ever seen until now.

It was not just mathematically his face was the most beautiful, but after her research, Mizuo found out how perfect he was in most of the fields which made her attracted to him.

He’s kind, good-natured, and someone who helped her during orientation despite her normal rude way of talking. She was drawn to this man and seeing his innocent smile she got assured how madly she was over heel for him.

‘At this point, I don’t know whether should I thank Riku or punch him for putting me in this situation… ‘ As one could expect, a young maiden always remains double-minded when it comes to someone they love.

Their first date continued under a peaceful silence.

Riku had no idea whether what he said was just to tease the girl or he didn’t want her to be sad but in the end, he just called Yui his girlfriend without any hesitation.

And seeing her flustered reaction and how she wasn’t resisting his hand holding hers, Riku deduced that she probably liked it.

‘Does she really like me as a man?’ At this point, only Yui’s verbal confirmation was left since all the signs indicated what Miho said on the phone yesterday to be true.

“L-Let’s stroll a bit… ” Riku himself didn’t realize that he was embarrassed by the hand holding as well, as he stuttered his words out.

“Mm.” Yui just nodded before the the couple began to walk stiffly side by side with their hands connected. Their arms were touching from time to time which made it tough for both of them to remain relaxed at all.

“H-How is the school going, Yui?”

“I-It’s fine, Senpai. Thanks for asking… ”

“Good then.”

Both of them fell silent after that. Yui was experiencing these kinds of sensations for the first time even though she had imagined it countless times before. And on the other side, Riku was torn between how he should be feeling about this situation but a part of his mind was now widely aware of the fact that Yui was no longer just a kohai or simply his friend’s sister.

They wordlessly walked a little more when Riku decided it was enough as he broke the ice, “Let’s eat something there and calm down a bit, shall we?”

Yui nodded instantly since she also wanted to cool down her head a bit or she might ruin the date for them.

There was a small dairy cafe where all kinds of ice cream, cakes, and most sweet things were listed.

“You sit here, I will go buy something. ” Yui nodded before she took a seat nearby. The cafè was completely open which allowed customers to enjoy the view of nature while enjoying their dessert.

There weren’t many people around. Just some young couples, in which most of them were female. Given the number of women in today’s world it we fairly common for two girls to date these days.

But Yui didn’t have any thought about anything else as she whispered something she could only hear herself, “Haaa~ How nice it feels to be with Senpai…I feel like I was born to love Senpai~”

Leaving the girl behind, Riku went to the counter and told the lady his order, “One fruit sundae with vanilla and strawberry scoops and um….just that. Thank you. ” Riku knew Yui’s likes and dislikes to a decent extent so he didn’t have trouble ordering her favorite.

‘Damn…everything here seems so…tooth-aching… ‘ He wasn’t just referring to the menu board but also the atmosphere around the cafè.

‘I thought only aged people come by but… ‘ Musing to himself, Riku took the prepared order for which he already had paid and made his way back to the girl who seemed lost in her world.

“Back to earth, Yui-chan.”

“Ah!” Yui snapped out of her daze as she saw the overloaded dessert resting on the tray.

Riku couldn’t help but chuckle seeing the excitement building in her eyes which told him, despite how much happened between them, some of the things could never change.

“Fruity delight? For me?”

“Yes, of course. It’s all Yui’s so take your time. ”

Just the moment, the tray touched the table, Yui scooped a good amount of ice cream along with some strawberry dice before she shoved it inside her mouth like a true baby.

“Mmmmm~ sho good… ” The delighted face of the little girl made him smile as well, as he rested his chin over his knuckles with his elbow planted on the table.

After taking three spoonfuls of sweetness, Yui raised her eyes in his direction before she asked, “What about you Senpai? You didn’t take anything?”

Riku pulled himself out of his stupor before replying soon after, “Ah, no. You know how much I dislike sweet things. You carry on. I am having a great time just seeing you enjoy like this. ”

Yui slightly ducked her head in embarrassment as she realized how childish she must have seemed in her Senpai’s eyes. It’s just, sweet things always make her go all excited.

With her ears now matching the shade of the strawberry, she insisted, “Please have some of mine if you don’t want to order separately. I would feel bad eating alone. ”

Riku sighed at that and was about to reject her again when she once again spoke up, “Please Senpai? Won’t you have something sweet on our first date?”

*Ba* *Dum*

His heartbeat accelerated at that look and before he knew his hand made its way toward her hand which had a spoon of ice cream resting before Riku pulled her hand toward him and savored the ice cream.

It almost seemed like Yui was feeding the ice cream to him.

If Riku’s heart accelerated then Yui’s heart was skyrocketing by now…

‘….would I be able to survive at this rate? Are you planning to kill me Senpai?’
