The time when I forcibly slept with my friend's sister!

It’s an emergency but please be safe on your way…was what my mother said over the phone before I rushed out of the house.

I only had a sleeveless T-shirt and joggers on the lower half but I didn’t think of changing in this situation and booked a cab.

I didn’t try to call Mom again since if it was an emergency for which she needed to call me then it’s better to first reach there.

She has never called me on such an urgent basis to her hospital before which was making me anxious.

“Please can you drive a little faster?” I asked the lady before she nodded, probably sensing the urgency in my voice before she hit the accelerator and drove the car slightly above the speed limit.

Thanks to that, the two-hour journey was shortened to half before I paid the cab driver a little more than the actual fare and said my thanks.

‘What the heck… ‘ As I moved toward the hospital my eyes slightly widened since there was a horde of news reporters and cameramen congregating at the hospital entrance and was barely being held by the security.

I knew a back door to enter the hospital so without bothering with the crowd, I paced toward the back entrance and walked into the place I have visited quite a few times already.

I didn’t stop to register my visit at the reception and just dashed toward the second floor, where my mother’s office was situated.

“!!!” There were two tall and slightly muscular women standing on either side of the door of my mom’s cabin with army rifles resting in their hands and body adorned by protective vests and whatnot.

My anxiety grew as I tried to rush past the guard but as I thought, they obstructed my path.

“Identity. ”

I gritted my teeth before answering with a growl, “Do I need to show my identity to meet my own mother?!” As I sounded, I indeed was irritated because of how weird and suspicious things were happening in this place.

But above all, I want to see Mom right now.

“If you really are Hikari Mizuki’s son then show your id and I will let you pass.”

I didn’t have time to argue so I just took out my wallet and showed them my ID before pushing the door and walking inside.

“Mom!” My eyes darted toward my right where my mother generally sits and fortunately, she was there right now as well.

Apart from slight stress over her brows, I couldn’t see any harm done to her which made my shoulders relaxed…however, I soon frowned upon witnessing a girl, whom I was familiar with.

“Kuriyama-san?” The renowned young scientist of the era was occupying the seat opposite my mother with her front slightly turned toward my direction.

Now I realized what was happening. The news reporter wasn’t here to cover some incidents, rather they were just following the celebrity scientist and the daughter of the genius Amaye Kuriyama all the way to the hospital. The two guards on the door were with Kuriyama-san as well.

“Riku…ahm… ” My mother stood up and walked toward me while glancing nervously at the young girl.

“Are you alright, mom? She didn’t say or do anything to you, right? ”

I asked in concern since I have barely seen my mom panicking like this. Well, it was given that meeting Kuriyama Mizuo was indeed a startling event for her but still…I didn’t like the look on my mother’s face.

“I didn’t harm her, Hikari Riku. I just needed to talk to you-” Kuriyama-san stood up before she spoke only to be interrupted by my annoyed voice.

“And for that, you came all the way here and brought those many people behind your back? To do what? Pressurize me to help you with Ichinose? Are you even thinking rationally anymore, Kuriyama-san? Taking aside the fact that you kept a doctor locked up in her own office, you also made the entrance to the hospital crowded which could cost many lives.”

I didn’t care whether she was an emerging genius or not. She has risked many lives by allowing those reporters to follow her and blocking the entrance. Many crucial cases arrive at the hospital and the slightest delay in their treatment could lead to their death.

I thought Kuriyama-san was a considerate girl despite how she behaved, but my perception of hers has shifted today.

Kuriyama-san had her eyes narrowed but I didn’t back out. Only I could know how uneasy it was to spend that single hour when I was rushing all the way to the hospital and saw the guards standing at the door.

“Riku…it’s okay. Don’t be mad at her…it was my fault to panic like that. ”

Mom tried to persuade me but I wasn’t blaming her in this at all. In the first place, Kuriyama-san could have met me on the way to the school as she always does and could have avoided creating such a scene at the hospital.

Yet…

“If only you haven’t been Ichinose’s friend I wouldn’t have bothered coming to meet you at all.” Despite speaking in a low tone, I could sense her annoyance by being scolded by me.

But her anger wasn’t something that could terrify me at the moment.

“Then please leave since I won’t be helping you with Ichinose anymore at all. ”

I stated without hesitation. Regardless of whatever feelings she might have for my friend, it doesn’t matter now. If she wants to pursue him, she could do it herself or find someone else.

After today’s incident, I was prepared to have no contact with Kuriyama-san at all, and seeing her reaction, I knew she won’t see my face again as well.

But before either of us could have said anything else, a fourth person suddenly walked out of the restroom which made my mind blank.

“Ara~Is this a way to talk with your benefactor, Mi-chan?”

Now I know why Mom seemed so panicked from the start…

Kuriyama Amaye has appeared at the scene.
