Ichihara Kazuto is one of the most popular second years in Takagi High.

Other than the fact that Kazuto comes from an ancient Japanese clan, his personal achievements also speak volumes about why the silver-haired guy was known throughout the year.

And since Kazuto tends to be polite and mostly remains down to earth with everyone in the class despite having such remarkable traits, makes him a more so desirable guy amongst the maidens.

However, Kazuto doesn’t like anyone as of now except for a single girl.

Tsukasa Yui.

Kazuto doesn’t like her in that way, rather he admires Yui because of her considerate nature and how she could turn someone as a prick as him into a gentleman.

Yeah, initially Kazuto wasn’t someone with whom anyone would have liked to associate with but after coming across Yui and how she dealt with him patiently without minding his rude remarks just made the boy fell for her greatness.

However, Kazuto knew he wouldn’t be able to reach her even if he tries to since there was already someone in Yui’s heart.

Kazuto has seen how she generally gets teased for staring at a guy’s pic or even bringing that unknown guy’s belongings with her during recess.

For Yui to devote herself to someone, Kazuto expected that man to be the most perfect person who could match such a sweet and caring girl like Yui.

That was why when he saw such an ordinary-looking guy carrying his classmate in such a vulgar manner…Kazuto wasn’t able to hold himself back.

“What the hell! What did you do to my girlfriend?! ”

The reason Kazuto dared tagged the word ‘girlfriend’ with Yui stems from the fact that this upperclassman had a suspicious aura around him and Kazuto despite being aware of some fighting techniques, didn’t know if he could have won against the senior holding Yui.

Kazuto wasn’t too skinny and could hold himself against moderate opponents, but the difference between their height and those massive arms was alarming for the sophomore.

“Girlfriend? Yui never said anything about having a partner before tho…”

‘Already first name basis…?!’ Kazuto’s frustration was amplified since despite being in the same class for months now, he haven’t dared call Yui by her given name.

But the silver-haired didn’t let his nerve lose control as of now. He needed to ensure Yui’s safety from this goon.

“Doesn’t matter. You let go of her before I call someone whom you won’t like to face.”

Kazuto pulled his phone out of his pocket which had the number of his older sister dialed. He had no one else stronger in mind who could deal with the troublesome guy.

Surely Kazuto had several bodyguards who were stationed to pick him up just after he walks out of the exit but his sister would handle the situation way better.

And seeing how the goon’s expression shifted Kazuto knew he was terrified of the threat…

…or so Kazuto thought.

[Riku’s POV: ]

“Listen, kid… ” Despite holding Yui like a precious glass doll, I somehow took hold of the junior’s shoulder before providing him a piece of my mind.

“This girl is someone precious to me and right now she isn’t in a condition where I could afford to delay unnecessarily. So let’s have this chat for some time later, alright?”

I already concluded that the guy was lying about being the boyfriend of Yui since if he really would have such a relationship with the baby girl in my arms, I would have been informed by now.

I also have my connections after all.

I did try to speak to him politely but the way his face paled upon hearing my words signified otherwise.

Nevertheless, I didn’t pursue the matter any longer and walked out to catch the cab waiting for us.

After apologizing to the cab driver for delaying, I place Yui-chan on the seat and her head on my lap.

When I gazed at her face, for some reason her ears seemed a little redder than before.

‘Is her fever rising again…?’

[Next day]

“How is Yui now? Did you call her? ”

Mom asked while engaged in her cooking. From the fragrance, I could tell she was preparing some classic Japanese dishes.

Since she returned late at two last night, she had to go to work by afternoon.

“Yeah…I did in the morning. She’s fine now but won’t come to school today. ”

Yui seemed a little sluggish in the morning and told me how she wants to have an early morning porridge like the one I made for her yesterday.

Ichi wasn’t bad at cooking so I know he would feed Yui something good. Even so, I promised that I would make something hot and delicious for her today.

“Ichi’s birthday today, right? Have you bought something for him?” Mom asked with her hand continuously stirring whatever was in there in the pot.

“You remember even his birthday…? Well, not really. Probably would give him some light novel or something.”

I wasn’t going to give anything to bitchy bastard who keeps his phone up his ass at times of emergency. I barely held myself from punching him in the gut yesterday.

Mom gave me some advice on what I could buy for him but not like I was going to buy a single thing by going out of my way.

‘Hmm…maybe I can give him my stack…’ Of course, every guy has those kinds of manga that we couldn’t show to anyone else other than close friends. I have heard that even girls nowadays store such books…

Throwing away the useless thoughts for later, I thought to walk back to my room and get changed when suddenly I remembered something and informed Mom about it.

“Ah, mom…I would be staying at Ichi’s place tonight. ”

“Hmm~Alright.”
