The Tale of Two worlds : Realms Unveiled - Chapter-: 5
Chapter-:5
A man in the wild
A sudden, loud scream shattered the silence, causing me to bolt upright in bed. My body, drenched in sweat, testified to the intensity of the nightmare that refused to fade from my memory.
Then, a voice, sweet and melodic, whispered in my ears,
“Get up from bed, honey. It’s time for lunch.” [Woman]
It felt like a distant memory to me, a voice I have not heard in many years.
In my groggy state, I found myself replying to the voice of my wife like I used to do. As I slowly emerged from my groggy state.
The familiar sound of my wife’s voice filled the room. Without thinking, I found myself responding in the same way I used to. It was as if muscle memory took over, guiding my words and actions.
“Just two more minutes, honey.” [Atul]
But as the fog lifted, reality crashed back down upon me. The realization that she was no longer physically present hit me like a wave. The pain of her absence washed over me, leaving me feeling empty and lost.
I lived alone in this place with Vayu.
Remembering this fact, confusion etched across my face as I stood up and glanced around the room.
Founding nothing in the room, a smile crept on my face and tears started coming down my face, remembering the past.
But I slowly wiped them and rose up from the bed to head towards the bathroom to freshen up.
Remembering the past, I strolled toward bathrooms.
Opening the door of the bathroom, the smell of lavender lingered in my nose.
Walking toward the sink, I opened the water tap and splashed some water on my face.
As the water from the tap splashed on my face, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, a reflection of someone who had weathered the storms of solitude.
Seeing my weather body, a complaint leaked from my mouth.
“Seriously, what happened to me?” [Atul]
“You got old and weak.” [Vayu]
Vayu’s voice mix with a hint of sarcasm and regret came from behind me as he flew toward me and sat on my shoulder.
His eyes met mine, and a conversation happened between us with no words exchanged. A conversation only known to me and him.
Once I finished taking a bath and giving Vayu a bath, I headed out of the bathroom and made my way to the kitchen. It was time to cook some food for the both of us.
“So what’s in today’s menu, bawarchi.” [Vayu]
“A nice owl curry sire, but I am afraid you won’t be alive to taste it, though.” [Atul]
“You know that’s not funny when you say it with that straight face.” [Vayu]
As I continued cooking dal-chawal, sabji-roti, the banter between Vayu and me continued.
After setting the plates on the tables and serving our meals, I sat on the couch opening the T.V. for hearing the news while eating, a habit I had formed during my stay in this house for all these years.
On the television, an elven woman was reporting the news about the 5th batch transfer that was supposed to happen today.
“If we believe in sources, then this will be the last transfer of people from Earth to Octa varia.” [Elven reporter]
“A new information has come from the headquarters, now all transferred people have been found except one.” [Dwarf reporter]
Announced the dwarf reporter sitting next to her.
“The council has released the statement that they will take care of all the transferred persons and will also find the last person at all costs, so there is no need for people to have any fear.” [Elven reporter]
As the elf woman reported this, the screen changed to a female making some announcement.
But before I could see her face clearly, Vayu changed the channel to his favourite cartoon program.
“Ok that’s enough news for you today now its time for my cartoon show.” [Vayu]
Realising the fact why he so hurriedly changed the channel, a smile crept on my face as I rose up from the couch to wash the dishes.
Slowly walking toward the kitchen, I continued my daily routine.
Finally, two hours later, I completed all the housework and finally sat on the couch, snatching the remote from Vayu.
“Hey, I am still watching.” [Vayu]
“You are watching it for the last two hours. Now it’s my turn.” [Atul]
“You are just gonna watch those adult movies, anyway. Just watch the cartoon with me.” [Vayu]
“You should watch them too. The cartoon is rotting your brain.” [Atul]
As I continued my fight for control over the remote, Vayu stooped suddenly and looked outside the window on my left.
Feeling the serious atmosphere, a contrast to the atmosphere that was in the room a moment ago, I asked Vayu.
“What is it?” [Atul]
“A Sylvan Screamer just used Sylvan Echo.” [Vayu]
“Is it them?” [Atul]
“Just going to check out. You get ready too in case your help is needed or worse, if it’s them.” [Vayu]
After saying that to me, Vayu flew off from the window to somewhere. I also changed my clothes to get ready for battle anytime.
“Seriously, first those nightmares came back, now this.” [Atul]
As I changed my everyday clothes to my battle clothes to intercept the enemy at any moment, Vayu came back and reported.
“A horde of 3000 Sylvan Screamers chasing a lone girl.” [Vayu]
Hearing that, I again sat down on the couch and reopened the T.V., Well it was the best choice to give up here, it’s totally her fault for angering the Sylvan.
Even the children in town know about not aggravating Sylvan Screamers, plus she got a horde of 3000 of them behind her. Her life is doomed.
“Well then, may her soul rest in peace, but seriously got me worked up so much just over this.” [Atul]
“Will you listen fully? She has the symbol on her hand. It’s probably that girl, the one they were searching for.” [Vayu]
But the response from Vayu changed my thoughts completely
“You sure?” [Atul]
“I saw the symbol clearly,” [Vayu]
“Fine, lead me to her.” [Atul]
Following my order, Vayu increased in size and signaled me to sit on his back. As I sat on his back, he flew off at a great speed and in a minute; I was standing some distance away from the girl.
She was in a battered state. Most of her clothes were no more present on her body, small to medium injuries covered her whole body. Blood was flowing from everywhere on her body. Looking closely, her one leg was swollen a lot, probably because of a sprain.
“Seriously, this girl is quite something. Even if the Sylvan were playing with her, she did quite well to survive till this point.” [Atul]
“Yup, now go save her. She is not gonna survive for long on her own. Hurry, hurry.” [Vayu]
Hearing the annoying hooting voice from the emergency food sitting on my left shoulder, I walked toward the girl, as she looked toward me, her eyes met with mine, a silent conversation took place between us and from the look on her eyes I concluded that she trusted me.
Walking toward the girl, I stood next to her and, with a pat on her shoulder, reassured her.
“You did well surviving till here girl, now let me take care of rest.” [Atul]
Saying this I slowly took the gun from her hand, surprisingly she let go them quite easily.
Just as I took the gun from her hand, she fell on the ground, probably because of the adrenaline rush stopping.
Looking around, I found myself covered with Sylvan Screamers from all sides, with no route to escape. Well, they were frozen in their place too, probably because of Vayu’s presence, so it was not like all odds were stacked against me.
But One thing is for sure, I can’t protect the girl and fight all of them at the same time in my current state and that was a big negative for me.
Moving my head sideways, I glanced at Vayu. Understanding my signal, Vayu flew to the side of the girl and again increased his size.
Putting the injured girl on his back in an instant, he flew to the sky.
Now all that’s left is to take care of these guys. Even if I ran away now, they will just continue chasing me. The best option here is to kill every single one of them here.
“Seriously, why all of my problems solution came out as violence?” [Atul]
Looking around, I could see them getting ready to attack me at any moment. Well, let’s just finish this first.
“Half moon,” [Atul]
“Present Focus,” [Atul]
Seeing me aiming both the guns aiming at them, the Sylvan all attacked me from all sides .
I also fired the bullet at them, not like it harm them, anyway. Well, nothing wrong with trying.
Seriously, how many days has it been since I last use a gun? Well now, back to the present, huh? Look like I have to do it old school.
Third Persons’Pov -:
The aftermath of the battle painted a grotesque scenery in the jungle.
The lifeless bodies of Sylvan Screamers lay scattered, their grotesque forms now devoid of the relentless energy that once propelled them forward.
Limbs twisted in different directions, told the story of the slaughter that unfolded during the last 15 minutes.
The sight that greeted me as I looked around was nothing but blood and corpses of Sylvan Screamers, hardly recognizable anymore.
The moon, once a silent observer of the carnage, cast an ethereal glow upon the gruesome aftermath, highlighting the horror etched into the landscape.
Amidst the scene of this gore stood a single man completely covered in blood and small pieces of flesh, and below him lay the body of the now lifeless Sylvan leader.
“You killed all of them.” [Vayu]
A voice come from behind Atul, as the owner of the voice kept flying toward him and sat on his blood covered shoulder.
“Well, they never stopped coming. I had to kill all of them.”
Atul replied in almost an emotional-less voice line. It was a normal occurrence for him.
“Well, let’s go home now. I also have to take a bath again. Come on, get bigger,” [Atul]
“What? No, you are too dirty. I don’t want to take a bath again.” [Vayu]
Hearing the Vayu’s response, Atul sighed a little like he has given up on his idea but the next a mischievous grin appeared on his face and he tightly hugged Vayu.
Vayu tried to escape but Atul’s hug was faster and in the next moment Vayu’s colourful feather were completely covered in blood, reluctantly Vayu enlarged in size and Atul and he flew back to home. Leaving the grotesque scenery of a slaughter behind them.
