Chapter 5 – The Day We Went to the Sea

“It’s the sea!!!”

No one was able to keep up with Rino as she ran to the sea.

“So this is…the sea,” next to me, Kokoa looked out to sea and muttered.

This is the first time that Kokoa has seen the sea.

“Hey guys! Why don’t we jump in the ocean at once?”

Rino turned around and made a suggestion to us.

“I like that. That’s very youthful…”

“I agree~ Hinata, Kokoa-chan, let’s do it too!”

Sayo approached me and Kokoa.

“Yeah, let’s do it.”

“Yes! I want to do it too.”

We took off our shoes and went barefoot.

“Um, could you take a picture of us with this phone?”

Rino asked a passing woman.

“Okay… Then, here we go. Alright, say cheese.”

There was a snap and a shutter, and we stepped into the sea.

“It’s so cold!”

“Right~  Ah, thank you very much for taking the photo.”

After Rino said that, we all thanked her.

The person who took the picture gave Rino her smartphone back, and we decided to wipe our wet feet with a towel.

“Hey~ I don’t have a towel, can someone lend me one?”

“Here you go.”

Karin handed a towel to Kensuke, who was in trouble.

“Thank you~”

“Do you two want a towel as well?”

Karin noticed that Kokoa and I were in trouble and came over to us.

“Yes. I’d like to borrow it.”

Kokoa said, and I borrowed it from Karin too.

“Here you go.”

Karin handed a towel to me and Kokoa.

“Hey Karin… How many towels did you bring? I just realized, what’s in that big bag?”

I was curious about the big bag next to Karin.

“If we’re going to come to the sea, we have to be prepared.”

Everyone was troubled by Karin’s comment.

“Alright, let’s take some more photos!”

Rino proposed to everyone with a cheerful tension to change the atmosphere.

“Yeah! Let’s take the photos~”

This is how we enjoyed our time here.

You can have a good time without going into the sea.

Rino then showed everyone the screen of her phone.

“OK~ Then, we’ll split up here. Me, Kensuke and Karin have a place to stop by.”

“A place to stop by?”

Sayo asked Rino out of curiosity.

“Yeah. See you later.”

Saying so, Rino, Kensuke, and Karin parted ways with me, Kokoa, and Saya.

“Well, I guess we should go home,” Sayo told me and Kokoa.

“Yes… What’s wrong with you, Kokoa?”

I was worried about Kokoa’s condition.

“I wish I could spend time like this all the time…”

“Erm… Kokoa? Summer vacation has only just begun. There are still plenty of fun things to do. Right, Sayo?”

I asked for confirmation from Sayo.

“Yes! Let’s play again like today. Ah, that’s right! Tomorrow, let’s go out! The three of us!”

“I like that. How’s that, Kokoa?”

“Yeah, let’s go!”

Kokoa nodded with a smile.

Sometimes, Kokoa makes a lonely face.

I always wonder why…

When I saw it for the first time, I was moved by the view of the sea.

Tomorrow, I’m going shopping with Hinata and Sayo.

And like this, my memories increase…

Only 19 days left until the summer holiday ends.
