Chapter 14 – The Day I Conveyed My Feelings That I Couldn’t Convey That Day
I told him how I felt.
I will spend the rest of my time with you.
I have no more regrets.

I exhaled once and opened my mouth to say…
“Yamaguchi Kokoa… I like you.”
I said it… I said the feelings I couldn’t say that day.
Just imagining how Kokoa would react to this confession scares me.
I fearfully looked at Kokoa’s face.
Then, Kokoa was crying.
“Eh!? Kokoa!? W-What’s wrong!?”
She suddenly started crying and I panicked.
“I-It’s nothing. I’m crying because I’m happy.” While wiping away her tears, Kokoa replied.
“Crying because you’re happy?”
“Yes I like Hinata too.”
“R-Really?” Thinking I heard it wrong, I asked.
“Yes. I like you too.”
“It’s strange, isn’t it? You confessed your feelings for me even though we’ve just met. But as Hinata told me about the events of the summer holiday, and as I remembered the days I spent with Hinata, the feeling of liking you grew inside me more and more.”
Kokoa smiled as she said so.
“Kokoa…”
“Hinata, thank you for liking me… I’m very happy. But I’m going to die soon, so forget about me.”
“W-Why are you saying that!?”
I forgot I was in a hospital and screamed out loud when I heard the shocking words from Kokoa.
“Because it’s the best thing for me and for you.”
“Of course not! How can you ask me to forget about it when I’ve just found out that we have the same feelings for each other…?”
I was about to say that when someone tapped me on the shoulder from behind.
“Please do not shout in the ward.”
“Ah, sorry…” I apologized to the female nurse who had warned me.
“Hinata, today, you need to go home… It’s a nuisance to other people.”
Kokoa said this to me and turned her eyes outwards.
“Okay…”
I decided to leave the ward quietly.

A week later, I went to the hospital to talk to Kokoa again.
“If it’s Kokoa, three days ago, she…” I was told that by Kokoa’s mother, whom I met by chance at the hospital.
“Eh…?”
“…Kokoa, she said this at the end, ‘I said bad things to Hinata…’ Here, this is a letter from Kokoa for Hinata-kun.”
Having said that, I was given a letter by Kokoa’s mother.
