Chapter 10 – The Day We Made Our Last Summer Memory
If it makes you sad, then keep your distance…
That way, neither I nor anyone else will be sad.
If this was going to happen, I wish I’d never sought out a meeting in the first place…
──────────────────────
“Today at 8 o’clock, meet up in front of the station! Bring about 5,000 yen!”
When I woke up at 7am, I received a message from Rino in the group chat.
I decided to eat breakfast and leave the house to go to the station.
When I arrived at the station, Rino and Sayo were already waiting.
Apparently, the other three had not yet arrived.
“Good morning! Rino, Sayo.”
I went to them with a wave of my hand.
“Oh, here he comes. Good morning, Hinata.”
Rino waved back.
“Good morning, Hinata.”
Sayo greeted me back with a fresh smile as usual.
“Why are we meeting in front of the station, anyway? And where are we going so early in the morning?” I asked Rino what was on my mind.
“I’ll tell you that when we’re all gathered up.”
Apparently Rino won’t tell me until everyone is here.
After a short wait, the remaining three arrived.
“Sorry to keep you waiting~” Said Karin, showing up dressed in fashionable clothes again today…
“Good morning, Hinata.”
Kokoa came to me before anyone else.
“G-Good morning, Kokoa.”
For a moment, I was fascinated by Kokoa’s clothes.
Her outfit… It was the outfit she bought when we went shopping together with Karin…
She looks so cute…
“Hey Rino, where are we going this early in the morning? I’m so sleepy,” Kensuke said to Rino and yawned loudly.
“Starting now, we’re going on a day trip as our last memory of summer!”
When Rino said so, everyone applauded.
“So let’s get on the train!”
Rino walked towards the ticket gate.
And we followed after Rino.
***
“We’re here!” Rino raised her hands and shouted.
“Look! You can see the sea.”
Karin pointed to the sea a little further away.
“You’re right!”
Kokoa was just as excited as everyone else.
“Well, let’s do some sightseeing first.”
Having visited a place beyond one prefecture, we decided to go sightseeing for the time being.
We went to tourist spots, ate foods famous in the area, and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest.
“Come on, say cheese!” Rino, holding a camera, said this and the shutter clicked.
“Hinata, it’s fun,” Kokoa suddenly said to me.
“Yes.”
“Hey, Hinata… Do you think miracles exist?”
“Miracles?”
The sudden question took me by surprise.
“Yeah. Miracles… I think they exist. Because it’s actually happening right now.”
“What do you mean…?”
“Sorry. I asked you a weird question… Forget the question I just asked you.”
“Okay…”
What was that?
I was left with a hazy feeling…
Only 0 days left until the summer holiday ends.
