- Chapter 34 : The Villain VS The Beast!
The origins of magical beasts are not yet clear as it is shrouded with mystery.
From which dimension do they emerge, and how did they settle down here in this world?
Although the breeding methods have been explained, the circumstances leading up to that point remain unexamined even by human scholars.
However, there is one thing…..
Magical beasts emerged as if crawling out from the ground and surrounded Alba in a matter of seconds.
If scholars were to see this, they would likely begin examining it desperately in their excitement as these beasts seemingly emerged out of nowhere.
But for Alba, the appearance of magical beasts before his eyes can only be accepted as a kind of ‘mystery’.
After all, there was nothing around him just a moment ago.
“Are you surprised?”
As if watching from a height, Mina raised the corner of her mouth from a distance.
“It’s only when I transform into a magical beast that I can create these magical beasts. In reality it is not a summon, but I actually created them.”
“What the—!”
“I don’t really understand it myself. Thanks to that, I’ve been called the ‘Princess of Magical Beasts’ by those people from ‘gathering of rebels’. It’s simplistic and embarrassing.”
Alba circulated the magical power within his body to ready himself against any attacks.
He started to acclimate, circulate, and prepared himself to use the magic incorporated into his body.
With just a single step, he approached the magical beast before him. With a swift kick, the attack connected and the head of the troll-like magical beast blew away.
However, that was not the end of it, magical beasts from all sides gradually drew closer during this time.
‘Damn it, aren’t these magical beasts… the ones from the training camp?!’
Alba was thinking about the magical beasts that suddenly appeared not long ago.
The scene from that time flashed back in his mind.
‘Is it possible that Mina, even though not elaborated on in detail, was involved in the main story…?!’
At this point, it’s strange not to connect the dots and come to that conclusion.
Undoubtedly, it was Mina who created the magical beasts during the training camp. It’s probably something only Mina can do, creating magical beasts in a forest where even newcomers can enter.
The fact that Alba didn’t know means it wasn’t detailed and wasn’t particularly important in the original storyline.
Alba inadvertently gritted his teeth — The developers should have described it properly, damn it.
‘No, right now, I couldn’t care less about that shit!’
The figures of magical beasts surrounding all sides were not just one or two.
Dealing with these one by one would take too long to reach Sheria hence risking her life in danger.
Then, Alba leaped over the magical beasts surrounding him. However…..
“If I narrow down your escape route, even I can handle it.”
“What!?”
A dull sensation strikes his abdomen.
After the jump, in front of him. Alba’s leg unintentionally collided with Mina, who was trying to swing her leg, taking a kick head-on without any guard.
Because they were moving at speeds their own eyes couldn’t follow the attack, the recoil when struck back was significant.
Alba was momentarily taken aback as he was slammed to the ground. At that moment, magical beasts appeared from all sides once again and attacked him.
“Alba-kun, your magic is amazing. Even I can’t keep up with it. But, you can say it’s specialized for one-on-one combat.”
Because all sides were blocked, only one area remains as an escape route.
Even though he realized Mina was there and wanted to stop him anyhow, Alba jumped once again—however, once more, his path was obstructed by Mina.
“What!?”
“You are outnumbered. That is Alba-kun’s weakness!”
Suddenly, he was slammed to the ground again.
Despite being dropped a little away, more and more magical beasts appeared and surrounded him from all sides once again.
She continuously generated magical beasts without limit, possessing the strength to slam Alba, who has increased their speed, to the ground.
A true threat. With this much power, she could easily destroy an entire town.
Alba muttered a small curse under his breath. Was it really okay for someone like her to be a background character?
“…I won’t try to kill you, Alba-kun.”
After landing near him, Mina said those words.
“I’m only here to save my little sister.”
She said those words urgently, almost as if she was about to cry.
She directed her imploring gaze toward Alba.
“She’s my only little sister. My sister who called me family. If I don’t save her, because of me, another important person will die. I don’t want that… I don’t want it. She’s the only one I have left…”
Her imploring gaze didn’t waver from Alba.
Even as she created more magical beasts, her pleading thoughts didn’t stop flowing from her mouth.
“Hey, please, just stop. After everything is over, you can do whatever you want with me.”
Still, Alba increased his own magical power to counter-attack her.
“Prepare yourself.”
A pale blue light covered his entire body and rapidly increased the lightning surrounding him.
“Please, I beg you.”
It was only because he was surrounded from all sides.
Because his escape route was restricted.
If it’s too difficult to jump ahead, then…..
“Please, just stop!!”
—He would crush down everything ahead of him!
Facing everything head-on, boldly. He braked through the massive number of magical beasts.
Due to Mina’s cry, the number of magical beasts of all sorts swelled even further.
“…I still don’t really understand your circumstances, your weight, your feelings.”
Even if magical beasts approached from behind, he didn’t care and defeated the ones in front.
Swinging fists, delivering kicks, regardless of the mess of entrails flying and obstructing his vision, he continued to strike.
“After all, I’m just an outsider. I might only superficially understand the circumstances of your character. What I’m doing now might actually be the hero’s duty, and I might just be causing a scene. Maybe I’m being meddlesome, a nuisance, something to be resented.”
One step, then another.
Even while bearing wounds, Alba continued forward.
“I don’t really want to die either. Honestly, I wanted to live quietly deep in the mountains and peacefully pass away. But spending days with someone important doesn’t seem so bad. Because I met you, I even started to think that maybe experiencing a bit of school life isn’t so bad.”
He continued to move forward with unbending will.
“Originally, I wouldn’t have to do something like this, if I wanted to survive.”
And finally…..
Having defeated countless magical beasts, he arrived in front of Mina.
“But I ended up wanting to save you. It can’t be helped, right?”
“Ugh…”
The movements of the magical beasts stopped abruptly.
Was it because they were obeying Mina’s intentions? Seeing Alba, surrounded by a blue-white light, approaching her, Mina’s face shows signs of tears as she staggers.
However, Mina bites her lip, winds up her fist, and swings her fists with all her might.
“Haaaa…..!!”
But even that powerful swing could be avoided by someone like the genius, Ireina.
Alba, who specialized in speed, with his eyes accustomed to it, couldn’t miss the trajectory of the attack.
Alba evaded by twisting his body and landed a chop on the side of Mina’s neck.
“Damn…!”
Mina’s consciousness gradually faded away.
As she collapsed, just before her vision darkens completely, she saw Alba’s face.
“Let’s have a meal together again sometime.”
The surrounding magical beasts disappeared after her defeat. Perhaps because Mina’s consciousness was severed and the connection between them lost.
It was still unclear… However, Alba was rapidly distancing himself from that spot.
In the end, he felt like he heard a voice calling out for help from somewhere near him.
