- The Strongest Villain, Who Had Secluded Himself Deep in the Mountains To Avoid the Destruction Flag, Is Forced Onto the Main Stage by the Heroine He Helped
- Chapter 17 : Feild Trip and Trigger of the First Event!
The event that takes place for the first time when the game begins is an off-campus study trip involving all enrolled students of the academy.
They headed to a forest which was not too far from the academy, where they confronted magical beasts to personally experience the dangers of the world.
In “Clearana Fantasy,” during this event, the protagonist deepens their interactions with the heroines and raises their favorability by clearing certain events that occur for each character.
Conversely, it’s important to note that unless the protagonist interacts with the heroines during this event, their favorability will not increase.
However, it’s a bit sad that two of those captures are involved with someone who is not the protagonist…
“Sheria-san, listen. I’ve finally made a friend!”
And now, the time is the day of that certain event.
Alba, following behind the teachers, walks through the forest at the rear of the group.
“That’s wonderful.”
Sheria with a cheerful yet scary smile on her face was walking beside him.
Even though they were at the back, the upperclassmen were acting as guards specifically for today’s event.
It’s a lesson to learn the dreadfulness of magical beasts.
There are no typical things to do like “Retrieve magic stones!” Instead, they simply walked through the forest, feeling a sense of nostalgia, saying things like “Wow, magical beasts are awesome!” or “This is challenging but fun!”
For Alba and Sheria, who have lived in the wilderness for a while, magical beasts are nothing unusual.
While there are students who have encountered magical beasts similarly, that’s a separate matter.
For the young nobles gathered at the academy, a similar class is held to acquaint them with the terrors of the night.
“This person, you see, is someone who treats me as ‘me’ without making fun of me. It’s been a while since I felt the warmth of another person, and it makes me feel happy.”
“That’s great to know.”
“So, you know—”
Alba spoke to Sheria, who was casually standing there with no sense of tension.
“Can you untie the rope binding my hands?”
The lack of tension isn’t just in his demeanor but also in his appearance.
“No way! Alba, if I take my eyes off you for a second, you’ll immediately go off with a girl!”
“Is that not allowed?! Even though nearly half of this academy has female students?!”
Of course, it’s Sheria who was holding the rope tying him up.
Sheria puffs up her cheeks like a squirrel and asserts her displeasure in a rather pronounced manner.
“Listen, Al-kun… if you confront a magical beast like this, won’t that be amazing? If it turns into a situation where you say, ‘Leave this to me and go ahead!’ you’ll be the first man to become a magical beast’s snack!”
“The moment that statement is made, the ‘death flag’ thing which you say all the time is pretty much confirmed, right?”
“Fine, I won’t raise a death flag. So please untie this rope. Even if I don’t raise a death flag, there’s still a chance I might die like this!!”
By the way, the students near the back were completely aware that Alba was tied up with a rope.
However, they only whisper among themselves, not lifting a finger to offer help. Could this be due to the influence of being disliked? Or could this be the influence of the almighty Saintess?
“Well, but she’s really a good person. I’d like her to get along well with Sheria and the others if possible.”
“…She isn’t a vixen who’s coming after Alba, right?”
“Huh? As if! Where would someone like that exist who’s interested in me after knowing all those rumors?”
A former duke’s son, who is also infamous as a scoundrel.
Is there anyone who would fall for such a person? Not a single person in the game had shown interest in Alba.
‘…But I’m here for you.’
However, that’s only in the context of the game.
The person who holds feelings of affection is already right in front of him, but Alba remains oblivious.
“But… if Alba says so, I’d like to meet her at least once. If Alba vouches for her, she must be a good person!”
“For real!?… Yes!”
With this, Alba was pleased that the promise he made with her seems likely to be kept.
The girl who treated him kindly, aside from the heroine he first met, is the one who’s keeping his spirits up.
Alba had wanted to keep his promise if possible, and he’s happy that Sheria has become positive about their future meeting.
“Hey, Ireina, you should come too, alright? She’s a really nice girl!”
Alba calls out to the crimson-haired girl walking ahead of him.
“…..”
“…Ireina?”
However, even though he called out to her, Ireina didn’t respond immediately.
Seemingly lost in thought, Alba couldn’t help but tilt his head in confusion.
Perhaps it was the tension of the possibility of a magical beast appearing… he thought. But Ireina was a genius beauty who excelled in swordsmanship even in games. It’s hard to imagine her being nervous about magical beasts at this point.
That’s why it was strange. After a moment, Ireina turned around in a hurry.
“Um… sorry. You were talking about your head being like a chimpanzee?”
“What the—?! I never said anything like that.”
This was yet another amusing joke.
Hearing it Alba’s forehead involuntarily twitched.
“What did you say?”
“Well, I met this really great person, and I was wondering if you would like to meet up with her. What were you thinking?”
“It’s nothing, really…”
Ireina cleared her throat and directed her gaze at Alba, who was tilting his head in confusion.
“It’s not that I mind, but you’re really persistent. Which noble family are they from?”
“I think it was the Lupica family?”
“Ah, the Lupica Baron family.”
“You know them?”
“Somewhat. I’ve crossed paths with them a few times at parties. Weren’t they a family that rose through the ranks from merchants?”
As expected of a duke’s daughter.
She had a wide network and a good memory.
“Oh, I don’t mind. I think deepening connections is one of the joys of school life.”
“Eh… I don’t need that kind of joy though.”
“You proposed it yourself, and now you’re saying that?”
For Alba, whose motto was to avoid involvement, avoid standing out, and avoid involvement some more, socializing was utterly distasteful.
He would have preferred to live quietly in the mountains forever. Damn that Pope for ruining his quiet and peaceful life with Sheria.
“I don’t mind making friends with good people, but I’m troubled by the vixen… The Pope also said that it’s important to cherish school life, and I want to aim for a hundred friends.”
“Sheria can be quite blunt sometimes. I wonder why?”
“Who knows, maybe you should ask your own heart about it?”
“Huh? Why my heart? Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel good to the touch, you know?”
“You’re blatantly sexually harassing me in broad daylight, you idiot.”
They murmured quietly trying their best to not cause further commotion by their act.
‘Why did she get so angry?’ Alba, who had been whispering, could only tilt his head in confusion.
And then, at that moment…
“Kyaahhhh!!!”
“What—?! A magical beast has appeared!?”
“Why is there such a huge magical beast!?”
From up ahead, the sounds of students’ screams and panicked voices could be heard.
It seemed that they had encountered a magical beast, the original event that was supposed to happen was finally triggered.
“Oh, I see. A magical beast has appeared huh.”
“…Really, you have no sense of tension.”
“We’ve been living in the mountains for a while, so dealing with magical beasts is practically part of our daily routine… Right, Sheria?”
“Right, Al-kun~♪”
“You guys…”
“By the way, isn’t that the point of this off-campus training? We’re not here to defeat magical beasts that appear. Even if something happens, the reliable teachers and upperclassmen behind us will take care of it—”
Just as she was saying that, a very, very reliable teacher’s voice reached them.
“E-e-everyone, follow the upperclassmen and run away from here, quickly! I’ll somehow hold the magical beasts back here!”
However, it seemed that this reliable teacher was also shouting in agony just like the surrounding students.
“Uh, something seems strange here!”
“…You didn’t just trigger a flag with your previous statement, did you?”
“…I’m starting to feel like I did.”
…Come to think of it.
This is the first event that happens at the beginning of the game.
It’s a story that starts with the unexpected appearance of a magical beast.
