The Strongest Villain Sets Out: Reincarnated into a Merit-Based Clan, I Become the World's Strongest Swordsman - Chapter 58: A Commotion
We sat at the restaurant Norn-nee-san had recommended.
As soon as we finished ordering, dishes that were small in quantity but beautifully arranged were placed on the table one after another.
Seeing this, Norn-nee-san chuckled softly.
“It’s been a while since I’ve eaten such stylish cuisine.”
“Nee-san, you prefer hearty food after all.”
“Yes. Taste is important, but quantity comes first. When you defeat monsters, you can eat a lot, so it’s profitable.”
“Only Nee-san would say something like that.”
Norn-nee-san was such a wild child that I almost had the illusion she was born in the primitive era.
Normally, nobles preferred stylish and delicious cuisine, but in her case, she preferred large amounts of meat on top of it being delicious.
Despite being almost the same height as me, she could pack several times more food into her stomach than an ordinary person.
I’d like to dissect her once and find out what her internal structure was like.
“Well, my affairs don’t matter. What’s important is how we eat this food.”
“Hmm? How? Is there something other than eating it normally?”
“We’re having a date together, you know? Don’t you want to do ‘here comes the airplane,’ Luka⁉”
Norn-nee-san looked surprised in an exaggerated manner.
I couldn’t help but be exasperated.
“A date… aren’t we just siblings having a meal together?”
“That’s wrong. When a man and woman go out together and share a meal, that constitutes a proper date! Generally speaking!”
“That’s a misunderstanding.”
That would apply to too many patterns other than couples.
A date was strictly something done by people who liked each other, were dating, or were married. It didn’t apply to blood-related siblings.
That’s what I thought, but Nee-san shook her head violently left and right in denial.
“It’s a date. Now, repeat after me.”
Crack.
The knife Norn-nee-san was holding shattered in half.
Apparently she had crushed the silver knife with just finger strength. The fragments scattered onto the table (incidentally, she wasn’t using aura).
The moment I saw that, I laughed “heh” and said:
“Well, it’s an honor to be able to date Nee-san. This date is fun.”
“Fufu, that’s right, Luka.”
We chuckled at each other. As if Norn-nee-san’s earlier action had never happened.
—It couldn’t be helped. I still didn’t want to be hit by Nee-san. The other customers around us were also trembling, having received the aura… a kind of killing intent that seeped from Norn-nee-san’s body.
I was the only one who could handle it calmly and composedly.
My crisis detection ability was quite high. I should go with the flow.
“Now, ‘here comes the airplane.'”
“Isn’t that bad manners?”
“Everyone does it in the north.”
Liar. That’s what I thought, but if I said anything unnecessary, Nee-san would get angry again, so I bit my tongue and endured it.
Around us were gathered other noble daughters, sons, heads of families, and wives. If a member of the Salvatore family, even called the head of the ducal families, did “here comes the airplane” in public, it would be nothing but a scandal.
However, fortunately this was the innermost seat. It was slightly less likely to attract attention compared to other seats.
Moreover, the person in front of me was Norn-nee-san, who wasn’t well known to others. Since I had only recently started living in the royal capital, most nobles didn’t know our faces.
Finally, the lesson was that members of the Salvatore ducal family should be dignified.
Norn-nee-san was merely following that instruction… merely following it, right?
While feeling somewhat anxious, thinking it might really be common sense in the north and unable to refuse, I opened my mouth while looking at Norn-nee-san’s right hand that had pierced meat with a fork.
Norn-nee-san, wearing a beaming smile, brought the food to my mouth.
“Here comes the air…”
“—What⁉ I had reserved the best seat‼”
Twitch.
Norn-nee-san’s hand, which had been slowly extended, stopped moving completely in front of my mouth.
Her expression changed from a happy smile to sharply narrowed eyes directed toward where the voice came from.
A remarkably loud male shout was heard. I also followed Norn-nee-san’s example and turned my gaze in that direction.
Immediately after, I had a bad feeling. As expected from that premonition, one man with a plump build who seemed to have made the voice came walking steadily toward us.
He was a man with blonde hair wearing golden clothes, giving off a “the rich guy” vibe.
He was probably a noble’s son. He approached with blue veins bulging on his forehead. When he stopped in front of our seats, he pointed his finger sharply at Norn-nee-san’s face.
“Hey, you guys! I reserved that seat! I prepared the best seat for my girlfriend, so what do you think you’re doing‼”
“Please go to another seat. This is already my seat.”
“What⁉ How dare you say… you bastard! I don’t know what minor noble family you’re from, but I’m from a count family—”
The blonde man made a fuss in front of Norn-nee-san.
So he was the heir of a count family. Even though Nee-san was a super rare character, not knowing a member of the Salvatore ducal family… well, there were people like that sometimes. Those who had no interest in other families.
Incidentally, I hardly knew the faces and names of the empire’s nobles. I had learned about family crests, but only the bare minimum.
According to the head of the family, “There’s no need to remember the other ducal families. Our family is the best,” or something like that.
So I didn’t know this man’s name or face either. I had no idea about his count family either.
But too bad for him. That only worked for our side. The side with more power.
I felt bad for him, but Norn-nee-san couldn’t be stopped anymore. I ignored the man’s words and continued eating.
