The Story of How I, a Guy Who Couldn’t Care Less About School Castes, Somehow Ended Up Making All the Five-Star Gals Fall for Me - Character Intro (Updated)
Character Intro: Hari Suitengu
Overview
“Living while being misunderstood… it really hurts.”
The cool queen-type gal. Planet: Mercury.
A tall, boyish, model-like girl. With her sharp, needle-like beauty, blunt replies, and a figure polished to perfection for her age, she came to be seen as untouchable—someone admired only from afar.
As a child, she dreamed of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Her delicate artistry earned her the nickname Glass Doll, and she regularly won prizes at competitions.
But in her upper elementary years, an injury forced her to give up ballet.
Perfectionist as she was, she kept her distance from others and suffered in loneliness. In middle school, she finally met the best friends who pulled her out of that spiral. For her, friendship always came before romance.
She disliked boys—but after discovering Ikoi’s true identity as her childhood friend “Koi-chan,” she couldn’t help but become conscious of him.
Age: 17, second-year of high school (Birthday: April 4)
Height: 160 cm
Build: Slender. Long, supple arms and legs, a thin frame, narrow shoulders, and beautifully shaped breasts.
Hair: Black, short cut
☆Author’s Comment☆
Hari follows the lineage of tsundere heroines I’ve written in my professional works, so I felt confident in her design. But this time, I decided to take a bit of a risk with her settings.
When I made her cry and face her feelings early on, I felt reassured that Five-Star Gals would turn out just fine as a series.
How will Hari deal with Ikoi now that she knows his true identity? I’m looking forward to writing that part.
Character Intro: Hinawa Hiwatari

Overview
“Out of the four of us, rank whose boyfriend’s the best guy!”
The cheerful, classic gal. Planet: Mars.
Think a Heisei-era gal, updated for Reiwa.
She grew up in a family where kisses and hugs were just everyday affection, so without even realizing it, she’s always a little too close for comfort—and that makes guys fall for her left and right. A dangerous girl.
She loves pulling people into her pace. If someone’s too predictable, she quickly loses interest. That’s why she’s so fascinated with Ikoi—no matter how close she gets, he keeps his cool and never lets his calm, flat attitude break.
She naturally tends to take the lead, but surprise her, and she flusters instantly.
Age: 16, second year of high school (Birthday: November 11)
Height: 162 cm
Build: Healthy, sexy figure with just the right curves
Hair: Long blonde with pink at the tips
☆Author’s Comment☆
Hinawa is the most “gal-like” heroine of the four.
She’s bright, energetic, and the type of girl who’ll always cheer you on and accept you as you are.
She might look like she doesn’t think things through, but she’s the one who gave the protagonist the harsh push he needed.
Gals are like an energy drink for the heart.
(Just don’t overdo it!)
Honestly, one of the biggest reasons I wrote Five-Star Gals was because I wanted to bring this girl to life.
Her name comes from the hinawajuu—a matchlock gun.
Because when it counts, she’s the kind of heroine who’ll fire without hesitation.
Character Intro: Miyu Chigira

Overview
“It’s fine if you misunderstand me.”
The small-animal type, soothing gal. Planet: Jupiter.
She’s tiny enough to give off an elementary-school-kid vibe, yet her big chest is her biggest complex. Always frustrated about being treated like a mascot, deep down her dream is simple: to become a wonderful bride.
She’s the #1 “girl you’d want to marry”… but in truth, she’s secretly a predator. (If Hinawa’s closeness is unconscious, Miyu knows her own appeal and deliberately uses it to make her moves.)
With two much-older brothers who spoiled her since childhood, she grew up pampered. As a tiny act of rebellion, she dyed her hair for the first time when she entered high school—only to make her brothers cry.
Born with a princess-like nature, she doesn’t bend easily to others. She has no duplicity, but she’s skilled at steering people with her cuteness. For better or worse, she’s a natural at using “being a woman” as part of her strategy.
Age: 16, second year of high school (Birthday: March 3)
Height: 147 cm
Build: Petite with large breasts (the classic loli-busty type)
☆Author’s Comment☆
Miyu is a straightforward heroine, tailor-made to hit otaku weak spots.
At first glance she might look plain, but she’s actually extremely feminine.
Even if you realize she’s turning on the cuteness deliberately, guys are still helpless against it.
She’s so good at slipping right into someone’s comfort zone that, if all four gals started a fair love battle at the same time, I think Miyu would win by a landslide and snag Ikoi.
Character Intro: Platina Kongouji

Overview
“I’ll be blunt. Stay away from us. We can’t be friends with you.”
The lazy, mysterious gal. Planet: Venus.
Most of the time she doesn’t bother with her appearance—her hair’s usually a messy bundle tied on top of her head, her posture slouches thanks to her big chest, and she hides behind fake glasses. She even dresses in ways that deliberately avoid drawing attention from guys.
But the moment she puts in the effort? She transforms into an unbelievable beauty, her soft, wavy hair giving her the look of someone who just stepped out of a dream.
Coming from a wealthy family, she has a natural genius streak. Though unmotivated and lazy most of the time, her mind works the fastest out of all four gals. She sees things objectively, making her one of the hardest to pin down.
She values her friendships deeply, but at the same time, she refuses to admit she’s drawn to Ikoi—leading her to contradict herself in both words and actions.
Age: 17, second year of high school (Birthday: May 5)
Height: 168 cm
Build: Glamorous compared to her peers. Large chest and wide hips. Not athletic, with a touch of softness—but her youth more than makes up for it
Hair: Long silver hair, thick and voluminous
☆Author’s Comment☆
Platina is that languid, mysterious beauty.
She catches everyone’s eye, but for most guys her age, she’s far too much to handle.
If she likes you, she’ll tease you endlessly. If she’s your enemy, she’s a pain. But if she’s on your side, she’s unbelievably reliable.
She’s also perfect for serious conversations, so while she gives off a “villainess” aura, I’ve always liked characters who can win with cunning rather than brute force.
Intellect is seductive.
A smart woman naturally radiates sex appeal.
Character Intro: Ikoi Kizuki

Overview
“──You know, your attitude’s really bad.”
The caste-indifferent boy. Planet: Moon.
Existing outside the school caste, he gives off a calm, mellow vibe that feels refreshing. A boy with a light, breezy presence who moves at his own pace through school life. His expression rarely changes.
With a flat, detached personality, he expects nothing from others and stays cool no matter the situation. Since he’s not particularly interested in romance, he can interact with girls without getting flustered—which only makes him stand out more.
His eyes and memory are sharp, but when it comes to understanding a girl’s heart? Completely clueless.
He tends to admire talented, beautiful women from a distance, treating them as if they belong to a different world altogether. That admiration is closer to reverence than love—he draws a line and guards them like a gentleman.
Age: 16, second year of high school (Birthday: August 8)
Height: 175 cm
Build: Slim but not scrawny—lean with just a faint touch of muscle
Hair: Natural color, never dyed. Long enough to partly cover his eyes
☆Author’s Comment☆
The “caste-indifferent boy.”
A type of protagonist who feels like he should have existed before—but actually hasn’t.
Within Five-Star Gals, Ikoi is the most experimental and challenging new kind of main character.
Think back to your own school days—remember that one guy?
He wasn’t exactly an extrovert, but he wasn’t really an introvert either.
Just an ordinary presence… and yet, for some reason, girls always ended up talking to him first.
That’s the kind of person I drew inspiration from.
In the story, I described him as “an anonymous presence with an ambiguous air.”
Some readers even picked up on that in their comments, which made me really happy.
Even the editor who suggested turning this into a book praised Ikoi highly, calling him a fresh new kind of protagonist.
So please look forward to this youth rom-com between the caste-indifferent boy and the Five-Star Gals!
Next up is a brand-new short story featuring the heroine who took first place in the popularity poll.
Stay tuned!

Wait, where is Hari’s illustration ?
