“Hey Sakuya, you’ve been having a great time lately, haven’t you?”

“Huh?”

It was a holiday, and I was about to head to their house.

As I was about to leave, my father’s words caught me off guard, and I tilted my head wondering what he meant.

“Just as I said. I also talked to your mother, and we both noticed how much you seem to be enjoying your daily life lately. You seemed to be worried about something for a while, though.”

That’s something I can find out by asking. I walked straight to their room and found Yuka and Mai standing in front of the door with their arms around each other. I was caught off guard and wondered what was going on.

“Sakuya-kun.”

Mai and Yuka turned towards me as I approached. As soon as Mai saw me, she leapt into my arms and clung to me tightly. I held her back, stroking her hair, and then Yuka informed me of what had just happened.

“Actually, Mai’s mother came by earlier.”

“I had a feeling.”

It turned out that the person earlier was indeed Mai’s mother, and Yuka confirmed it. While still holding Mai, I decided to step into the room.

“Let’s stay like this for a while. I’m not really hurt because of Sakuya-kun, but I still feel upset.”

“I understand.”

I was surprised by myself for immediately understanding without any hesitation. I didn’t think I was that dependable, but if holding Mai like this could soothe her, then I wanted to do it for her.

“I’ll prepare some tea and sweets.”

Once Yuka had left for the kitchen, Mai, who had been quiet until then, looked up at me and pressed her lips against mine.

I gasped, caught off guard by her sudden move. She parted her lips, and her tongue slipped into my mouth.

I was surprised by the suddenness of it, but I had experienced this kind of kiss many times before when we were in a relationship, so I was somewhat used to it.

“Mai…”

Our kiss was intense, with Mai sitting on my lap and showering me with kisses. She had slightly moistened eyes, and it seemed like she was enjoying the moment with all her heart while looking at me. 

Even after Yuka returned, we continued kissing like that for a while.

“Hehe, kissing is amazing. It helps when you’re feeling down, and above all, kissing Sakuya-kun is so delicious.”

She moved away from me, but her gaze remained fixed on me.

It was as if I was the only person in the room, and she whispered softly, 

“Thank you for today, Sakuya-kun. Let’s have a fun sleepover, okay?”
