- Chapter 4: New World

“Wait, hold on.”
I raised a hand before he could snap his fingers again, before reality itself bent at his whim.
“What would happen,” I asked carefully, “if I do get accepted by one of the heroine?”
For a second, there was silence.
Then…
“BAHAHAHAHAHA-!”
He doubled over laughing, clutching his stomach as if I had just told the greatest joke in existence. A single tear slid down the corner of his eye as he wiped it away, still chuckling.
“As expected…” he exhaled, straightening himself. “Mortals truly are the most interesting, and funniest, creatures of all time.”
My eye twitched, hard.
“It was a genuine question, oh Mr. God,” I said, forcing politeness through clenched teeth.
“Oh? You were serious?” He raised a brow, lips curling upward. “But no, no~ that’s impossible. Who would ever go out with you?”
…Okay, this god was officially pissing me off.
“Logically speaking,” he continued casually, pacing in a slow circle around me, “I made it impossible for you to be accepted. After all, it is fate. But in the worst-case scenario.” he shrugged, “if it somehow happens, I’d feel sorry for the person who accepted you. Out of pity, perhaps. Or because they had no other choice.”
He chuckled softly. Quietly.
My eye twitched again. Twice as hard.
Alright,then I’ll ask that question.
“But oh god~” I looked up at him, meeting his gaze directly this time, lips curving into a smug smile. “Wouldn’t it make more sense… to send me to your horrible stories instead?”
For the first time, his expression cracked.
The veins on his forehead bulged, his smile freezing into something cold. Something sharp.
“You really do know how to infuriate a god.”
Snap.
The world flipped.
My body slammed face-first into an endless white floor, the impact knocking the air from my lungs.
“This,” he said calmly, looking down at me, “will be your first trial. Your divine punishment.”
He waved dismissively.
“Enjoy.”
He turned away, footsteps fading as if he were walking off the edge of existence itself.
“You damn god…”
My vision darkened.
And everything went black.

“Huh…?”
I was staring blankly at a notebook.
My notebook.
or rather, someone else’s.
“AHHH-!”
The chair tipped.
I crashed onto the floor, my body shaking violently as cold panic shot through me.
“What… is-”
I clutched my head, forcing my thoughts to align.
“Right… that god said I’d be transported randomly.”
Assuming this is the variable.
…Transmigration, huh?
Strangely enough, I wasn’t screaming, i wasn’t crying.
I wasn’t panicking like a normal person should.
Instead, I felt… oddly calm.
I pushed myself up and leaned against the side of the bed, breathing slowly.
“This person never existed in my top novels… Yuzu.”
My name.
So this body, this existence, was artificially created. Complete with memories, relationships, history.
“I vaguely remember… a childhood friend…”
“Hanako-chan…”
Right.
She was the female lead of my top three favorite novels.
Currently in the novel of Love x Love
It’s a romcom series. With only Four volumes.
No particularly heavy drama. Just two childhood friends fumbling through youth together, laughing, fighting, growing closer.
It’s mostly Wholesome. Very Simple.
And yet.
An anomaly had appeared.
Me.
A second lead. A shadow.
The fact that I was Hanako’s childhood friend too… made my chest feel strangely tight.
“…It’s fascinating,” I muttered. “A god turning fiction into reality in seconds.”
It’s fascinating to think, life can be made within seconds.
I pushed myself to my feet, wobbling slightly.
“Ha… whatever.”
This was my room.
This Yuzu’s room.
A simple mattress. A study desk. Shelves filled with manga, manga’s that never existed in my world.
“Oh… interesting.”
I grabbed one at random.
“As I thought. This manga doesn’t exist.”
A thank you message from the author printed on the first page. Over one million copies sold.
The synopsis was painfully average.
“…Did that god seriously self-insert his trash writing into this world?”
I scoffed.
“How embarrassing can this god ge-”
Buzz.
A notification.
“…Was that always there?”
My phone lay beside the bed.
No….
That wasn’t this Yuzu’s phone.
I instantly reached out for my phone.
“It’s… my original phone?”
My notes. My downloads. Everything intact.
For the first time since this nightmare started, I smiled.
“Oh praise the god! I sincerely apologize for insulting your trash novel!”
Another buzz.
New contacts had appeared. Parents. School numbers.
And then…
› Daiki-kun! Don’t stay up late again! I can’t wake you up every morning for school!
A cute little panda sticker followed, it’s pouting.
› Got it! I’ll try~ If it comes to that, I’ll rely on you!
(Daiki – Offline)
› What!? This idiot… I swear I’m scolding him tomorrow.
…Ouch.
A late… night lovers’ quarrel.
Poor Yuzu.
If I remembered correctly… i don’t actually exist in the real timeline.
Instead that god made this world which, i was destined to be the losing lead here.
The invisible variable.
› Right, Yuzu-kun? He’s really irresponsible sometimes…
“!?”
She noticed me!?
› Yuzu-kun? You there?
Crap.
I wasn’t supposed to be acknowledged yet.
Best course of action?
“Ignoring her.”
Mute. Exit chat.
Let’s just say… I accidentally opened the group chat and totally didn’t see anything.
“Easy.”
I felt strangely confident.
Seeing them in person soon… characters I loved breathing, talking, living…
It was a miracle.
I sighed, scrolling through my phone—
And froze.
“…What’s this?”
An unfamiliar app.
‘God Process’
“…You’ve got to be kidding me.”
I opened it.
Nothing.
Then…
The screen went black. The phone vibrated violently.
“Shit.. is this a virus!?”
A blue glow emerged.
My breath hitched.
“That’s a…!”
‘Ding!’
“…Death…?”
My throat went dry.
What could it possibly mean..!?
I glanced at the new notification from the group chat.
“Oh right… It could mean the group chat!”
Damn it.
I opened it.
› Yuzu-kun~? You there?
› Huh? He left.
› …He’s really gone.
I swallowed.
‹ Ah.. no, no! I was busy… uh… bathroom business.
A pause.
› Is that so… I see.
Now what?
The risky text… I have no choice at this moment!
“…I know.”
‹ Yeah, he is irresponsible, right? Let’s ditch him tomorrow and go to school together, holding hands. Maybe make out too.
Silence.
Then…
› …No thanks. Goodnight, Nakamura-kun.
(Hanako — Offline)
“…Yikes.”
Straight to last name.
Did i maybe I overdid it?
“A reward?”
…So does the world progress moves based on my actions?
