- Chapter 25 - The first step with a Cute Girlfriend
After that, the moving plan was launched at a frightening speed. Yuka-san was also present during the process, and the two of them, both mothers, were moving forward with the plan with very happy smiles on their faces. So I was convinced that Yuka-san was also on my mother’s side of the team.
Then once we went home for the night, I didn’t need to pack to move… and my dad took care of everything. We moved into a condo about halfway between Yuki’s and my house. Dad’s move was amazing, as he had already signed the contract for the apartment very quickly.
We were both close enough to go home if we wanted to. I thought positively that it would be a good experience if I considered it as a trial living together.
…To tell the truth, I wanted to sign a contract for a single-family house when I could afford it, officially register with Yuki, and live together.
But what’s past is past. We just have to make plans for the future.
I had finished packing my bag with the things I needed, and now it was time to go pick up Yuki.
“It feels lonely…”
As I was putting on my shoes at the door, I understood that Okaa-san had no sense for acting.
“That’s enough. I’m off.”
“Yuu-chan!”
“Eh…?”
I felt my mother’s warmth for the first time in a long time. It was not an act, but her true self. I realized this, and in response to that feeling, I hugged her.
“I want to be alone with Otou-san, but I can’t give up the idea of the three of us living together. Please understand that.”
“Fufu…”
“I love your father first, but I love Yuu second. Yuu thinks so too, right?”
“I guess so…”
She was, after all, a mother who was never bored. There were times when I felt a little bit of distance from her, but I never disliked her.
“Thank you, Okaa-san. I’m just an unfilial son who didn’t even graduate high school though…”
“What are you talking about? It’s not up to the world to decide if you have no filial piety. It’s up to me, Otou-san, your parents, to decide. You were able to save your one and only precious and irreplaceable person, weren’t you? If that’s the case, it’s admirable.”
“Okaa-san…”
“Now make an effort to make that special someone happy. So this is my gift to you.”
Mom pressed her lips to my forehead.
“I never gave this to anyone but your father. Keep it.”
“Mom’s blessing… sounds kind of strong.”
“It is strong. Go on, then.”
“I’m off. And Okaa-san.”
“What is it..!?”
I kissed her cheek in return.
“I’m glad you’re my mother.”
“Yuu-chan…!”
There was nothing more to say, so I grabbed my bag and left the house.
Of course, I did it almost as I went along, so it was certain to become black history later on.

The seven-minute walk felt like an instant to me now.
I didn’t press the intercom as usual, because Yuka had given me a duplicate key yesterday.
When I opened the door with that key, a breathtaking sight met my eyes.
“Ah, Aah…”
There was Yuki, dressed in plain clothes. I had only seen her in pajamas since she was always at home, so she looked like a different person.
Yuki was wearing a white striped shirt and a white flared skirt. Her hair was braided in a cute rope braid.
And because of the all-white corset, it looked like a kind of wedding dress.
“You look cute, Yuki…”
“Thanks, Yuu….”
My true feelings were expressed before Yuki asked me for my opinion. That’s how flustered I was by Yuki’s appearance in plain clothes.
“…Gohon, you should create a world for the two of you after we go to your house~”
“”Ah…””
Yuka-san was looking out from around the bend with a tremendous grin on her face. Tooru-san seemed to be nearby, too, and I could hear him chuckling.
She looked at me and said, “Well then, Yuu-kun, take care of Yuki, will you?”
I understand… Then, let’s go.”
“Yeah…”
I opened the door and tried to go outside, but Yuki was shaking as she was looking outside without going out the front door.
So I took Yuki’s hand. A lover’s handhold on top of that.
“Yuu…”
“It’s fine. I’ll protect you. Didn’t I promise you?”
“Yeah. I’ll do my best. I’ll do my best to support Yuu!”
And then – Yuki who had been standing still, took a step forward.
