Cecilia took the skewer from me and looked back and forth between the skewer and me before taking a bite.

Cecilia said, reaching into her pocket for money but I raised my hand to stop her.

“It was a treat from my side. It’s not a big deal.”

“No. I don’t want to owe you anything.”

“Don’t worry, I don’t see it as a debt.”

“Absolutely not.”

“I don’t need it.”

“……”

An unproductive exchange erupted between Cecilia and me and I was the one who had to back down as her prideful personality wouldn’t allow her to be indebted to anyone.

“Fine. Then treat me to something next time.”

“What?!… What do you mean by that…?”

Cecilia’s face turned bright red as she interpreted my words. 

I tilted my head in confusion and she quickly turned her back to me.

“Y-You idiot! What are you saying when Lilia is right here! Just take the money already—”

Cecilia with a flustered look, took out some coins from her pocket. 

But as she hurriedly turned around again, she stumbled and lost her balance.

“Whoa!”

I stepped forward to catch her, and her face ended up buried in my chest.

“……”

“Hey, are you okay Cecilia? It would have been dangerous if you had got hurt as it would get me in more trouble.”

Cecilia, with her face buried in my chest, didn’t respond to my words. 

Just when I thought so, she suddenly started trembling.

And then,

“……!?”

She let out a voiceless scream and quickly pulled away from me. 

Her face, even redder than before,

“N-No—…!”

She screamed and then ran off as fast as she could and vanished into the distance.

“W-What? Did I do something wrong…?”

I looked in confusion at the direction Cecilia had disappeared.

“Ara Ara~… This has become quite interesting.”

“Lilia, do you know what’s going on?”

“No. I have no idea… I wonder what’s wrong with Cecilia?”

Despite saying this, she had a beaming smile on her face.

That look definitely meant she knew something. 

But if she didn’t want to say anything, then it must be something between women. 

As I was not interested in such matters, I quickly pushed the strange behavior of Cecilia to the back of my mind.

Throwing the finished skewer into the trash, I resumed my date with Lilia.
