- The Reincarnated Eldest Witch Sister Embraces Self-Sacrifice
- Chapter 6.3: Flashback 3 - The Youngest Sister Hekate's Trust
Ulgiar Onee-chan has always been the center of our family of four sisters. Istos Onee-chan, Demeter Onee-chan, and I have all been immensely helped by her. That’s why I had the utmost trust in our eldest sister.
Unlike my sisters, I only worked outside when I was sixteen. Embarrassingly, I had never felt the urge to work outside and had been content with our peaceful life until then. However, that doesn’t mean I did nothing.
I used to summon goblins to manage the inventory of products crafted by Ulgiar Onee-chan or the plants created by Demeter Onee-chan. I also called fairies to sort through the spoils Istos Onee-chan brought back from the dungeons. Essentially, I had the summoned creatures do various chores around the house. I was happy spending time with my sisters, so I never felt discontent with this routine.
The change came when I turned sixteen. Ulgiar Onee-chan suggested it was time for me to start working outside, gain social skills, and become independent. Of course, I had no intention of being independent.
“What kind of job do you want to do, Hekate?”
“I don’t have any specific wishes. Any job that I can do using my summoned creatures is fine.”
“In that case, a delivery service using fairies and Pegasus might be suitable.”
“Yes, if possible.”
If it weren’t for the promise with Onee-chan, I could have used goblins or orcs for various manual labor tasks. But since I could only use creatures friendly to humans, my options were limited to fairies and Pegasus.
After hearing my response, Onee-chan proposed a delivery service. We went to Defelos Trading Company the next day to discuss the idea. She had a good relationship with the company and thought they might let us handle their delivery services.
At Defelos, an elderly gentleman named Sinara greeted us. He was more amiable than I had expected, making the conversation easier.
Sinara seemed hesitant about using summoned creatures for delivery, but after seeing a summoned fairy, he said the citizens might accept them. He agreed to take the proposal back for discussion with his colleagues.
That day’s meeting ended with a handshake and a promise for future discussions. Later, after several more meetings, I started working as a delivery person. Although I’m worried about how the city’s people will react, I’ve been working smoothly so far. However, helping my sisters remains my top priority.
Ulgiar Onee-chan has always acted for the sake of us sisters. But what about her wishes? She never seems to want anything for herself; her desires are always about us.
Why do you dedicate yourself so much to us, Ulgiar Onee-chan? Why did you bring up the idea of me becoming independent? It feels like you’re preparing for a time when you won’t be with us.
No matter what happens, I won’t forget the kindness I’ve received. I will find out Onee-chan’s wishes and repay her. After all, she is the one I love the most in this world.
