- Chapter 6.2: Flashback 2 - The Third Sister Demeter's Adoration
As a child, I always thought Ulgiar Onee-chan was perfect. She seemed to stand in a place far beyond ordinary people, effortlessly handling everything and protecting us. I secretly admired her deeply.
I expressed my desire to work When I was twelve, inspired by Onee-chan and Istos Onee-chan’s work. Onee-chan responded:
“If you want to work, that’s fine. Do you have any job in mind?”
“Well, I’d like to do something with plants. My magic is related to plants, so maybe selling plants I create with magic?”
“That makes sense. Let’s visit Defelos Trading Company together then.”
“Defelos Trading Company?”
“Yes. I frequently trade with them. They might advise us on what plants to sell.”
That’s how I visited Defelos Trading Company’s headquarters with Onee-chan. Walking with her outside was a rare and exciting experience for me.
“Defelos is the second-largest trading company in Polis Commercial City. They handle various products and sell the daily goods and accessories I make.”
“Why not the largest company?”
“The largest Prota Company doesn’t deal well with witches. Their chairman dislikes them.”
As we walked towards the company, I remember feeling overwhelmed by the seriousness of everything. Unlike Onee-chan, I needed to improve with formal interactions and worried about making mistakes.
Inside Defelos, an older man named Sinara, who was in charge of product management, greeted us. He assured me not to be so tense, saying that a businessman like him doesn’t care about strict formalities, especially with children.
We discussed my potential work. Sinara suggested Magica Weed, a valuable water plant with magical recovery properties, and advised on other profitable plants.
The discussion was quite technical, and I needed to understand more about demand, supply, and price trends. Onee-chan handled most of the conversation.
Afterward, Sinara gave us some plant samples, and we left the company. I wanted to know if I could work like Onee-chan. She assured me it’s okay to learn slowly and confessed that she had made many mistakes when she started working.
Six years later, I can work independently, though I still consult Onee-chan on important matters.
Through all these years with Onee-chan, I’ve realized she’s hiding something. I’m not sure what it is, but there are clues:
She averts her eyes when I wear light clothes, sometimes glancing at our bodies like a man might, her mature behavior since childhood, and occasionally mentioning information she shouldn’t know.
I haven’t confronted her directly, but I hope she shares her secret someday. Whatever it is, I’m ready to accept it because I love her more than anyone else.
