Saeki picked up the shopping bag and walked towards the entrance.

Leaving her sister, who had fully transformed from whispering delinquent to foul-mouthed thug, I followed Saeki.

I called out to Saeki, who was heading towards the elevator after leaving the room.

Whether it was playing MiniMon, making the takoyaki batter, complimenting her more when it was done, pouring the batter closer to her side first, looking at her more when we were eating, even the size of the octopus pieces on her side were bigger. You seemed to have more fun making takoyaki with her, and you handed the sauce to her first. You were just all about Mishiro, Mishiro, Mishiro.”

“Whoa, calm down. I can’t follow what you’re saying. It’s like a stream of gibberish.”

“Huff… Huff…”

“You’re totally out of breath!”

Saeki’s tirade of complaints seemed endless.

“I just… don’t want you to treat me coldly. We’re friends, so you should understand that.”

“O-Okay. Sorry about that.”

I wanted to argue back, but saying more might trigger another barrage of complaints, so I held back.

Saeki, surprisingly, might be quite lonely.

She’s usually indifferent to others but has some cute sides too.

Admittedly, I found it easier to talk with her sister, so I naturally turned to her.

I understand Saeki’s feelings but still think she’s overreacting (seriously, three steps?).

“Just answer honestly, who do you think you’re closer with, me or Mishiro?”

“Well… it’s you. Like you said, I’ve only known her for five hours.”

“Then always talk to me. Don’t act all shy.”

I’m not even a bit shy…

As we headed to buy the pudding from in front of the station, I continued to endure Saeki’s occasional complaints.
