The Reason Why The Cool Beauty Who Repeatedly Ignores Messages Replies Only To Me. ~The Lonely Beauty Wants To Know The Lonely Me〜 - Chapter 26
Episode 26: The Beginning of Summer Vacation (From the Sister’s Perspective)
[Chapter 3: Love Starts Moving in Summer Vacation]
Lately, my sister has been acting strange.
“N-No, this is not right…!”
Summer vacation began in mid-July.
Originally, we were supposed to go abroad this summer to meet our father, who works overseas. However, my sister suddenly refused to go (I also wanted to stay home and play games rather than go overseas), so we, the sisters, canceled all our plans for the overseas trip.
Despite going through all that trouble, ever since the summer vacation started, what I hear from the next room are my sister’s agonizing screams.
The noise from the next room is so loud that I can’t concentrate on my game.
As a reason for staying in Japan, my sister said, “I have lots of plans to hang out with him, so I’ll stay in Japan”.
And yet, here we are…
The “him” my sister mentioned is probably that guy who looked at me with lewd eyes when they were under the umbrella together the other day.
My sister said she had “lots of plans to hang out with him,” but it’s been a week into summer vacation, and she hasn’t gone out even once—meaning, it must be something like that, I presume.
I didn’t really think ‘him’ was her boyfriend, but I didn’t expect this…
“… It’s getting annoying, I’m going to warn her.”
Playing games in the pitch-black room, I take off my gaming headset and turn on the lights with the remote control.
I step out of my room, forcefully open the door to the next room, and find my sister lying face down on the bed.
“…Sister? You’re getting so noisy, please calm down a little.”
“Mi-Mishiro…”
As my sister notices me, she sits up, fixes her disheveled hair, and sits cross-legged on the bed.
“Listen to my problem for a bit.”
“Nope.”
“…Fine. Then just listen to me talking to myself.”
“Nope.”
“……”
“……”
“I wanted to ask a guy out…”
My sister starts talking on her own.
Sigh… oh well. I guess I’ll have to listen to her as her little sister for a bit.
“And then?”
“…I don’t know how to ask him out.”
“Huh?”
Oh no… I had a feeling my sister would make things complicated…
“Seriously, sister…did you spend a week thinking about how to ask that boy out, and then you screamed all over the place?”
“……”
“…Sister, you’re really bad at romance.”
As soon as I said that, the highlight disappeared from my sister’s eyes.
Ah, this might have hit her super effective 4x weakness.
“You… You wouldn’t understand, having gone to an all-girls high school.”
“…Sure. Then do your best on your own.”
As I, annoyed, try to leave the room, my sister grabs my hand.
“I-I’m sorry, Mishiro… I just couldn’t help but argue.”
“……”
“If possible, I’d like your help.”
“…Yeah. Sorry for calling you bad at this.”
Even though we’re both bad at expressing ourselves, the reason my sister and I get along is because she always apologizes first, even after we fight.
“Do you like this guy, sister?”
“I… I might like him, but then again, I might not.”
“What does that even mean?”
My sister sure is troublesome.
Maybe I should help her out here.
[Afterword]
And that’s the start of summer vacation.
